I really enjoy the JF Hawk in X-Plane, one of my go-to planes for low level buzzing around the UK, so I had to get this. Didn't feel like it ought to be hedge-hopping in the midlands so we're taking a short hop here out of HEGR on the Sinai borders and up the coast over Gaza to LLRS. No political or other ramifications intended, just wanted to go somewhere sunny and hadn't tried that particular patch before. Assuming the scenery in the sim is essentially generally accurate, in terms of landscape and colour etc, it was a bit of an eye-opener to see Gaza, in the sense that you only ever hear about the place in almost apocalyptic terms on the news. It looks quite beautiful, …

Many of us, here, have an interest in Ukrainian/Russian jetliners, some of us, more passionate than others (surely more so than yours truly), beyond e.g. the well-known military type planes (MiG/Su etc.), made famous by that "incomparable" DCS platform...(recall the few folks, here,...can count them all on one hand,...🙂..., who, are adventurous enough to get to grips with those remarkable SIMs...kudos to those folks...)...But, I'm here specifically referring to "commercial" and "passenger" airliners. Such Russian/Ukrainian jetliners (e.g. Antonov/Tupolev/Ilyushin etc.) are rather fascinating and unique, in their own rights, from the aviation perspective, SIM or Real... …

I don't often use the Bonanza, but something tempted me the other day and while I was up there I got this shot. It really hit me that this looked like a happy aircraft here, like a fledgling taking its first flight. And it reminded me of this - Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun-split clouds, – and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of – wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there, I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air… Up, up the long…

Tried porting across the old "Hawker Heroes" set today. Mixed results, still some work to do, but the Hurricane takes off ok and has working gauges. Obviously not going to be up to the finish of the new Spitfire but fun to have access to. I did also try an old Ju-88 but it didn't work (it actually looks pretty rubbish even in FSX), which is a shame - it's another one of those aircraft I really like and would pay good money for a decent one. Anyway, these are from a quick test flight from Biggin Hill to Stapleford, via the City

Took the Spitfire for a nice long flight today, was going to follow the Adriatic cost from Tivyat to Corfu, but low clouds and undisciplined fuel use meant I had to make a side trip halfway to refuel. Oopsies. Took about a million screenshots, but will try to restrain myself to just a few. Gloomy out of Tivyat: Looking for some sun: Beautiful speedster: It's amazing how real this game looks sometimes: Powering away from my pit stop: Descending into Corfu: There's the end of the road: I love this game.

Leaving a small airport in North Sulawesi with volcanoes in the background. A good autogen on a sat pic can make a life-like urban landscape. Love the Asian flavor but not fond of the far away bluish haze .

This is fun! A couple from my previous recorded flight first. When I reloaded the flight and replayed it again today it did actually put the wheels down on coming back in to land, so it's obviously a bit hit and miss about that. I'll keep experimenting though as this recorder (the freeware one) is really nice and basic and gives a smooth replay on my system so if it can work consistently it'll be the one I'll probably use most. Anyway, one from the start of the flight at EGSG - And one from the end (with the undercarriage down - whoo-hoo!) - and then just a couple more after taking off again and heading nowhere in particular Now that we'…

[This is bit of an ambitious post, on my part, both in background and execution, so, if you are not a "Pro" in aviation, which I'm not either, and care to feel a bit of the excitement of this flight, as I myself did here, please tag along with me...or, you may jump to the set of images below...(after all, who would not like a few pictures of the classic B757 narrowbody twinjet, a plane that has been always of interest to me, as RW traveler (recall many (pax) flights in Delta/AA 757s), and also, here, in the SIM. At CS, I was, there, in the "crowd", when it was released, and, with my newly-empowered (purely imaginary and inflated) jet privilege, I was even making some "noi…

Flying grounds that I cannot find fairly represented in any other sim. And I like it ! This is the Shan country in upper Burma (oops Myanmar) 😉.Dangerous lands. Took off from Putao Snow capped peaks to the NW On a grumbling note, the guy who designed the camera views had never took a screenshot before in a sim. The fisheye effect and that the wretched menu bar are calamities 😉 !

Not my usual thing, but just occasionally. Thing is there aren't many modern airliners I find aesthetically pleasing. First one here is a cargo 747. Now I really do love the look of the original Jumbo, I can almost feel good about the -400, but the -800 leaves me cold. It really is a stretch too far for me, but it's all we've got here at the moment so . . . Out of Newark And then there's the A320. Again, I totally adore the A318, but the A320 is just plain dull to me. I'm hoping Aerosoft will get their A318/319 package across to MSFS eventually. Meanwhile, here's a couple out of EGLL and over London And lastly, I got myself the 737-Max simply because …

...but today the cloud layers looked pretty fantastic intertwined with the mountain peaks on my flight from Calgary (Springbank) to Kelowna. It was a bumpy ride at 14,000, I headed up to FL200 for some smoother air once the upper cloud layer dissipated after passing the Golden area.

Out and back from Stapleford (Orbx), west towards Enfield, south to the Thames, back east over the city and docklands, out to Southend and then back. Still experimenting with replay software. This was with the free package, which is pretty good but doesn't seem to have saved the undercarriage status on the returning landing - on replay I was nicely positioned on the ground perfectly balanced on the tailwheel! Anyway, the experiment continues. These are all 4k, ultra + LOD 5.0 settings, and photogrammetry off. I consider the UK PG an abomination and London looks pretty good with the Orbx landmarks package. …

It was a very short flight. I didn't think the icing on the plane would be this bad. I just decided to fly to the goal. And when the airport was nearby, I trusted the instruments (I already had the ILS set up). And I still made a successful landing. But all my way to the landing was only on the instruments. But it was a lot of fun. In this simulator, I always get a lot of interesting things. Light aircraft can also fly when the weather is difficult. Modern navigation devices (Garmin, thanks!) can always give help.
