The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Not sure Alaska Air ever operated out of Valdez but here they are. Turning to a westerly heading for Anchorage. Several glaciers along the way - this is the massive Columbia Glacier. Those are the Ivy League glaciers - Harvard on the left, Yale on the right.

Famous buildings are the Bank of China and the HSBC building, but at least for me there is another building of interest. It’s the white one with the small round windows in front of the plane’s nose. That’s the headquarter of the trading house Jardine Matheson. It played a role in the 1988 mini series Noble House, in which Pierce Brosnan played the Taipan of the Noble House. James Clavell used the history of Jardine Matheson as basis for his famous books. Above Macau We have reached the coast of Thailand, below us is Hua Hin And finally into Phuket …

Painting bare metal with PBR is tough....but it rewards you as you pan around the aircraft and see the surrounding environment reflecting off that shiny metal. This was the last 767 I flew on before they retired them, taking of as the sun gets low on the horizon. Don't mind the upside down reg, the painter was in a hurry and was really focusing on dialing in the metal textures in these shots. 😉 Here she is showing off that shiny metal at sunset..the airport lights reflecting off the fuse with angry skies ahead...love the orange glow on the fuse.

A compound flight from Ranger Creek 21W to Orcas Island KORS in the Pacific Northwest of the USA. Flying the SWS Kodiak 100. I dodged IMC leaving 21W and picked up an IFR with Seattle Center as soon as I was clear of terrain and high enough for radio reception. Routing: 21W SEA V23 HUH KORS / RNAV(GPS) 34 via CVV (originally planned RNAV 16 via HUH, for winds) This aircraft definitely captures the hearts of users who seek realism - especially in the flight handling arena. I've found the ground handling to be the best I've seen in any sim. Inertia feels spot on and the way the plane reacts to control inputs also feels quite believable. I think it's the b…

In Alaska's favorite plane - the PA18 Supercub. Traversing a lot of western Canada and all of Alaska, the Yukon was a major mode of transport. Xplane's built-in haze doesn't happen up here - visibility 100+. On the left, the village of Tanana just downstream from the confluence of the Yukon and Tanana (right) rivers.

Rare for me as I hardly fly these days with all the paint projects recently.🤔 Anyway....most of my flying is paint inspection flights where I take my latest paint on a short hop and along the way, pan around her to check for issues. Since these flights are done almost exclusively in the day, a night flight is a welcomed treat (thank goodness we don't have to paint night textures anymore). When the flight ended (at an airport that should be easy to guess after the last 2 shots), I was panning around the plane and struck with how great night textures look compared to the "old days" 🤣 Love the reflections on the fuse, you see I have the wheel well light, the c…

I will never understand people who don't know where to fly. This sim allies the wonders of geography and the intricacies of flying great aircraft. Here are some shots of my vagrancies. Eritrea Leaving a hazy valley in Borneo (I think...) Icy weather over Greece or Albania Baluchistan (Iran) Baluchistan (Pakistan) Legazpi in The Philippines Iran, South of Kerman Before most of my flights, I do a little musing in Google Earth. Iran is rich in interesting landscapes. I saw a small dark lake in what seemed a dark massif in the desert and thought about flying there to see how it …

Nice cold and clear skies over Valdez (PAVD). Then after landing, saving the flight and coming back to the sim later, the weather was quite different. Moments after this screen pic it was a white out, quite disorientating. Cheers
