The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

I’ve always had a preference for the B767 IRL. I probably made 30 trips in that model back in 1999/2000 on Air Canada between Vancouver/Toronto/Montreal (including a cockpit jump seat journey from CYYZ to CYVR due to a lucky circumstance of an over-booked flight…like that’s ever going to happen again!). Made an additional 20 trips between 2000/2003 on Delta Airlines between Atlanta/Cincinnati/and the UK. I think I was fascinated by the remarkable story of the Gimli Glider back in the early 1980’s…if I recall correctly, the first incident for the B767 series (with a positive outcome!). The PIC767 (and later Level-D 767) was my go-to aircraft in MSFS in the e…

In Alaska there's a requirement to be able to hold the MEA (minimum enroute altitude) after an engine fails - the F27 couldn't do this so, in conjunction with the FAA, a drift down requirement was created, usually about 8K above the MEA. PAMC to PANC (my usual commercial flight) 185 miles reached FL180 accomplishing this. This model, out of Manchester UK, has featured in XP9/10/11.

Ok, that might be a slight exaggeration, because it’s not Antarctica that is out of tea. But at Rothera, the British Antarctic Research Station, researchers had to switch to coffee, as their tea supply was lost after a small fire in one of their storage containers. Help was needed, fast. As luck had it, the Rothera researchers got notified that the famous tea-clipper Cutty Sark, with her belly full of the finest Ceylon first flush Darjeeling, was just approaching Cape of Good Hope. Immediately a radio was sent to her captain to change course south. Luckily this was accepted. After a couple of days, the Rothera station got her old Short Sunderland underway to lo…

We take off from Miramar Fightertown and fly to Edwards AFB, famous test center of the USAF. With the afterburners just slightly engaged, even with full brakes applied, you cannot stop the plane from moving forward But of course we are here to apply full afterburners. The brutal force that pushes you cannot be described. And when you later switch off the afterburner at level flight, you will be pushed forward so hard as if somebody had applied full brakes Having a look around near Carlsbad, north of San Diego at 7000 ft Let’s bring her up to 40,000 ft. Do this kind of flying for more than 14 minutes and you’d run out …
