The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.
  1. I had the chance this afternoon to test fly the upcoming v3.0 of the Xtreme Prototypes Learjet 25, my route was Santiago de Compostela (LEST) Airport to Almería (LEAL) Airport, both available from PILOT'S. Absolutely gobsmacked by the high detail in their latest rendition of this insanely fast business jet! Doing a quick walk-around before departure. The aircraft features various clickable hot spots, such as on the stairs for example to add or remove the cockpit crew. The dynamic lighting effects are really superb! The Learjet features PBR effects, as do some of the airport surfaces. The Santiago de Compostela region …

The origin and roots of all major airlines are always fascinating.... almost all major airlines of today had started small...usually by another name...and usually dedicated to transport mail rather than pax...e.g., in U.S. in the days before passenger service, contracts for mail transportation sustained fledgling (and newborn) U.S. airlines...Also, due to lack of reliable airplanes and land-based airport infrastructure, the norm then was to use floatplanes that could follow and land on water bodies...And for long-haul, seaplanes became the mode of transport... Today, I caught sight of a Tasman Empire Airways Ltd (TEAL) Short Sandringham, in the library uploads. I the…

  10. On Feb 21, 2014, at 5:03 PM (local time), the final commercial (pax) DC-10 (DC-10-30; Reg. "S2-ACR") landed, in Birmingham, UK, ending 26 years of service with the national carrier of Bangladesh, and a 43-years run of scheduled passenger service of the type, around the world. The journey of flight had begun, ~5,000 miles away, at Dhaka International Airport, some 12 hours earlier. "Biman" in local language means "Sky; Aeroplane", and Biman Bangladesh Airlines, commonly known as "Biman" is the national flag carrier of Bangladesh. In my previous post, I'd shown an image of Biman Bangladesh DC-10-30, and had indicated the significance of this airline, as the holder of t…

[Note: I'd also got the livery pack with the JF/CLS DC-10 base install (please see my previous post), but never got to install the livery pack, so, I installed these repaints today, primarily motivated by looking for the CP Air livery (due to a comment by "rmeier" comment in my previous post),...the pack did contain Canadian (but no CP Air) ...anyway, I posted below few other liveries, too, that I liked...Enjoy...] The DC-10-30 variant became popular among many global airline operators of the day, serving the respective carriers for long periods...typically 20 years or more...till it was replaced by the likes of MD-11, B747, and A340 (I was fortunate to experience th…

  18. [We know well the "DC-10" and also the "MD-11", but what exactly is an "MD-10"? This is a topic that has caught my attention, since a long time, so, I have been lately collecting bits and pieces about it. So, here we go, an account of it all...If you care for some aviation reading, please read the text...or, you may just jump to the screenshots below, which I hope you might like...] First of all, the (better-known) DC-10, from which the "MD-10" is derived, is an a/c that has not received due attention in our SIMs. DC-10 was a fascinating trijet in its own right. Though it had started wrong-footed (aka the fatal cargo-door design flaw), eventually it recovered from th…

  19. Finnair is the flag carrier of Finland. In my post of DC-10 Classic Airlines, I'd included a screenshot of the Finnair DC-10-30. And today, I ran into a current Finnair livery on an A350-900 (XWB)... Finnair was a predominant operator of McDonnell Douglas jetliners for nearly 30 years, and had a remarkable history with both DC-10 and MD-11 a/c. However, as the MD-11/MD-11Fs were gradually phased out, it has finally (and currently) evolved into an exclusively all-Airbus fleet (including the latest A350 XWB). Finnair livery has gone though some subtle but significant changes, over the years. You will find here a few examples from the virtual world. The first shot,…
