I was (unexpectedly) introduced into Xbox for my Flight Simulation needs, when my teen, without my knowledge, installed the MSFS2020 for my benefit alone (not his) via his (already existing) Game Pass subscription. So, that's how my love affair with both MSFS and Xbox had started. Then, afterwards, I purchased MSFS2020 outright. In MSFS2020, I'd got hold of the PMDG 737 NG as soon as it was made available on Xbox, and I'd posted here about it with the Title "Cannot believe I'm flying the PMDG 737 in Xbox"....🙂...Then later, when MSFS2024 was released, I also purchased MSFS2024 outright...just the day after that (tumultuous and chaotic) first day of introduction...while al…

Boeing has a long and successful history in the heavy freighter market. And, unquestionably, the two most outstanding (Boeing) freighter a/c, during recent years, in terms of popularity and widespread use, are the following: Boeing 777 Freighter (Based on 777-200LR; hence sometimes referred to as "777-200LRF") Boeing 748 Freighter (Based on 747-8) In my previous post, I'd posted about the 777 Freighter. Naturally, next, my mind drifted to the 747-8 Freighter. Both are prominent examples of cargo aircraft but they serve different purposes. I've included a comparative graph of some of the characteristics of these two freighters in shot #2 below. The (twi…

Louis Blériot crossed the English Channel on July 25, 1909 with his Blériot XI. He started in Calais and landed near Dover. It took him 36 minutes and 30 seconds to cover the distance of around 35 kilometers. I took off from Les Deux Caps, a small airfield southwest of Calais. Finally, the famous White Cliffs Dover lies to my left This field should be good enough Thanks for viewing

My excitement with this nice Airbus A350 continues...🙂...so, please share a bit of this excitement with me. And I also hope you enjoy this collection of pictures below. First of all, I've been always an airliner fan (via RW travel and also as an aviation enthusiast) immensely grateful to those incredible machines of the air. After all, those are the ones that have taken me across the world and oceans, giving me a life experience I would not have traded for anything else...🙂... Anyway, about today's flight, I do not recall I've had this much fun with an airliner (SIM) ever in my 20+ years in this hobby...🙂... There are a couple of factors contributing to this un…

You might recall, from one of my earlier posts, that after my acquisition of the (iniBuilds) Airbus A350-900 URL, I'd made a valiant (but unsuccessful) effort...🙂...to (virtually) transcend the currently existing (human) mileage barrier (of non-stop 10,000 statute miles, in the air), in a commercial aircraft. Today, the two longest (ultra-haul) flights are operated by Singapore Airlines, from Singapore to Kennedy Intl. and Singapore to Newark, as follows (flown by the same Airbus A359 type, you see below, in my images). The flight from Singapore to Newark (EWR) is slightly shorter than the flight from Singapore to JFK. So, the JFK route is considered the world's lon…

Take a closer look at the newly released Aubigny-sur-Nère (LFEH) scenery for MSFS2024. I hope that these screenshots showcase the subtle realism and pilot-focused enhancements that bring this quiet French airfield to life, from updated hangars and cleared approach paths to carefully placed static aircraft and signage. I did my best to build this scenery to reflect the charm and simplicity of rural aviation in Centre-Val de Loire. Club house and main/only hangar. I put the new logo on the club house of the Aeroclub d'Aubigny: https://www.aeroclub-aubigny.fr/ : One static PA-28 aircraft: The windsock is now correctly positioned and the si…

This past weekend, I came across a photograph of a very sad looking. Beech B1900D that was in the process of being parted out. The photograph was N15YV, an ex-CommutAir turboprop. An aircraft in my hangar that I just started flying again in the Black Square Analog King Air. I couldn't resist picking up the paint brush and creating a fictional US Airways Express livery for the King Air. I wrapped up the paint today and thought I'd take my new (very old looking!) aircraft on a commuter flight...KIAH to KMSY. As expected in the summer, usually a "bumpy" flight from Houston to New Orleans...I wasn't disappointed today! 96F on departure at KIAH. …

Since MSFS City Update 11, I've been planning to pay a (virtual) visit to the Montauk Point Lighthouse which has got a special mention in the description of City Update 11, as part of the New York (and Long Island) scenery. So, in this post, I start out from (nearby) Tweed-New Haven Regional Airport (KHVN), setting my sight (and my GPS) directly aimed at the Montauk Point Lighthouse (btw, due to some reason I could not pull it up on the MSFS Flight Plan as a Point of Interest, so, I'd to manually enter its Google Earth (LAT/LONG) Co-ordinates into my Flight Plan, see EFB images). My (direct) flight distance today, across the oceanic estuary of Long Island Sound, is only ~…

[First, bit of (exciting) SIM news hot off the press...🙂...PMDG has finally released all the 777 variants for the Xbox kids such as yours truly...🙂... (actually, I caught sight of it only yesterday in my Xbox/MSFS2024 Marketplace, in the "Trending" products section, up front on the first screen). PC folks are probably saying "Meh"...🙂...Yes, I am aware that the PMDG B777 is nothing special (nor new) for most of us who have been around the block a bit...🙂...Nonetheless, I consider this a remarkable achievement on the part of PMDG to be able to validate and introduce such a complex (and large) airliner for the Xbox platform, which goes to show that it can be done...🙂...Plus…

Hopping in the C750 from FlightFX for a quick flight from KCRQ to KTEX Routing is KCRQ JLI EED TBC HAVWU (rnav 09) KTEX - we initially file for FL450 but then make 460 our final (This would be legal in the USA with a block altitude of FL450-470. ATC will typically approve this because it's well above other traffic) Departing a warm but humid Palomar Making the right climbing turn towards Julian VORTAC A lovely red paint by Ghost on flightsim.to The C750 isn't the quickest climber but it's about speed in this bird... 250 till 10k then pitch down for 300 kias for the climb A brief sighting of Palm Springs as we s…

Earlier this week, I'd to make a couple of (road) trips between Chicago O'Hare and one of the oldest suburbs in Chicago, called Joliet, a distance of ~ 40 miles. As I passed through the town, Joliet Regional Airport (KJOT) appeared on my route. I knew of Joliet long before I settled in Chicago, thanks to a Novel "On the Road" by the American Author Jack Kerouac, who is one of my favorite authors, noted for his spontaneous and down-to-earth prose style. And supposedly, "On the Road" was his most famous book. In this book, Chicago appears numerous times and Joliet appears a few times too. Here, below, are just a few extracts from the book (Chicago and Joliet bolded by …

Lately, I've been flying one of today's most ultra-modern (ultra-haul) airliners to my heart's content...🙂...you know the iniBuilds A359 (see my earlier post, if you wish). But humankind is not satisfied, so, they are working on even more "ultra" twinjets, which, btw, are not too far away. If all goes as planned, Delta will be the first to fly the A350-1000 next year in 2026 and, likewise, Lufthansa will be flying the 777X (777-9) first also in the year 2026. BTW, do note how the nationalities of (launch) operator and maker for each type are a bit odd (reversed maybe...🙂...) And when would these guys realize that for some of us more experienced...🙂...folks around here, ju…

Earlier this week, while reading a bit about the C-130 Hercules, I came across the entity "Marshall Aerospace and Defense Group", located at Cambridge Airport, England, a key player in the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) of the Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules aircraft. With nearly 60 years of experience, Marshall is recognized globally as an authority on the Hercules platform. It not only provides "depth" maintenance of Hercules aircraft but also has the capability to independently produce and repair parts with Lockheed Martin's authority to manufacture. Earlier this year, a 50th anniversary celebration was held in Cambridge to signify the C-130 Hercules oper…
