The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.
  1. Recently, I've been flying the (iniBuilds) $60 Payware A340-300 (see my previous posts, if you wish). Today, I thought of flying the other Airbus long-hauler of the yesteryears, the A330ceo, also by iniBuilds (and $0...🙂..., aka: a default airliner of MSFS2024). The (quadjet) A340 was produced in 4 variants (-200, -300, -500, -600; note the absence of "-400"). The (twinjet) A330 (ceo) was produced in 2 (pax) variants (-200, -300), plus the Freighter version -200F. The A330 also exists as P2F pax-to-freighter conversions for both -200 and -300. The Airbus A330 is no stranger to me, as a mode of my past transport. In my previous post, I'd done a bit of back-of-the-envelope …

  2. Started by ryanbatc,

We're taking our TBM "960" on a 200nm flight from Hot Springs Virginia to Highland County Ohio (just east of Cincinnati). Both airports are freeware at the usual place. Stunning livery by master painter TimHH. HSP is situated atop a small mountain in the Allegheny Range, elevation 3792 msl We depart IFR and soon are talking to Washington Center - it's pretty out here, even though the clouds are thick Lake Moomaw - apparently known for it's trout fishery (There is still a really annoying model error with the TBM 930's prop and spinner - it looks transparent from many angles) Looks like we'll have a decent…

  3. I'm no pilot, but I consider myself a (passionate) aviation enthusiast....🙂...And, though, sometimes I like to dig deep into the complexities of the SIM (airliner) offerings from the premier developers; generally speaking, my attachment to (and fascination with) the airliners I fly virtually, is at an emotional level...🙂...so, I tend to forgive (and overlook) the faults and blemishes of the airplanes in my virtual world, more so than the (serious) aviators here would do...🙂...After all, the (perceived) faults and blemishes, as introduced by the developer, are no fault of the airplane itself...each (RW) airplane counterpart standing on its own merit as an iconic symbol of …

  4. After successful completion of the 4,500 miles (KORD-EDDF) flight (see my previous post, if you wish); I wrap up, via this post, my initial exposure to this (nice) iniBuilds A340-300 via a very short but RW flight that Edelweiss Air (a Swiss leisure and charter airline and the sister company of Swiss International Air Lines and a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group) operates in Costa Rica, curiously, ~6,000 miles away from the airline's home base and headquarters, Zurich, Switzerland. Costa Rica is a small (but fascinating) country, in the Central American portion of North America, bordered by two different oceans: Pacific Ocean on its west and Atlantic Ocean on its ea…

  8. I picked up the iniBuilds Airbus A340-300 from the Marketplace today...🙂... So, this SIM will now replace the (pre-existing) LVFR A343 in my File Library (see my previous post), though, frankly, and technicalities aside, my own affinity for this quadjet of the yesteryears remains unaffected...🙂...as perceived via either rendition... Please find these few images, below, of the iniBuilds A343 lifting off Runway 25C of Frankfurt/EDDF, as I reminisce my own (biannual) flights...between EDDF and KORD... from decades ago...in this a/c type...along with that other A346...stalwarts of (past) long-haul service, whose days have come and now gone...almost.... Thanks for vi…

  9. If not all, many of us, yours truly included...🙂...are eagerly waiting for the A340-313 variant to be (hopefully) soon released by iniBuilds, for both PC and (thanks to iniBuilds) also Xbox here...🙂...The single purchase is expected to include the Pax, ACJ (luxury), and the "Preighter" (aka: Pax-to-Freighter conversion) models, which sounds good, especially if you're a fan of this aircraft. After all, the A340 is the only other and more classic of the two 4-engined Airbus types, besides the behemoth A380. It's also an airplane that's personally dear to me, from past decades of travels on it. Interestingly, as I was checking FlightAware today, I found 3 A340-340 (DLH…

  11. With some reluctance, today I de-streamed the NAMC YS-11 and re-streamed the PMDG 777F into my active list of aircraft. So, for this post, I move from the (whistling) Mk.452 (turboprop) Dart engines to the massive (and powerful) GE90-115B turbofan engines. Unquestionably, the YS-11 gave me a good time and enjoyable run for the money it cost me...🙂... (see my previous 2 posts). If you recall, I'd recently flown a virtual flight here, patterned after the RW trip of a friend of mine who drove from Poland to Italy (and back) for his end-of-summer vacation. And today, I came to know that another close (local) friend of mine would be flying tomorrow from Chicago O'Hare to…

  12. Started by andy1252,

Can't see anything else about this here, but only had a brief look so please delete this if duplicating information. Just a FYI. Imgur now no longer operates in the UK (new data regs issues) so anybody posting images using imgur from elsewhere in the world will be able to continue doing so but these images won't be visible in the UK. UK posters can no longer post on imgur. Another fine example of the law of unintended consequences.

  13. Today, I wished to wrap-up my initial exposure to this nice (YS-11) Turboprop of the yesteryears, with a 2nd flight, mimicking a route of the classic U.S. airline, Piedmont Airlines. Interestingly (and coincidentally), I'd flown a Douglas DC-3 here, previous to flying this YS-11, which was in fact intended as a DC-3 replacement by some operators (a remarkable contrast of airplanes, indeed). Anyway, as I am eagerly waiting for add-on liveries of the YS-11 in the Marketplace/Xbox, I fly, for this post, a stock livery of the a/c that came with the iniBuilds package. It's significant to note that: "There are two entities associated with the name Piedmont Airlines: the …

  15. I'm flying the Piper Aerostar from Sitka Alaska (PASI) to Haines Junction (CYHT). It'll be a VFR flight planned for 10,500 ft. We are departing ahead of a storm system in the area - but it's coming from the south so we'll have a nice tailwind. I'm flight planning about 190 knots true. The winds aloft are mostly from the south but we'll have to do some crosswind calculation/winds aloft enroute since we have no GPS. I expect to see ground speeds around 200-210 once at cruise. The 240nm flight should take a bit under and hour and a half (if we navigate correctly!) If the clouds are sparse we'll go direct but as a backup plan I'll fly to Sisters Island VOR (114.0/S…

I am expecting some territorial battle on that day within the household...🙂...as I am eyeing the other (and larger) HD TV across in the living room, where PS5 is now running under the ownership of a (certain) younger member of the family...🙂...with full complement of VR capability and a (Play Station) VR headset. I am myself not a big fan of VR...never use it on Xbox, but who knows, I might be flying the PMDG 777 with VR on PS5 post-December 8...🙂...but for that to happen, I must first exercise some head-of-the-family rights on the PS5 system over the youngster...we'll see...] Here is an aircraft (NAMC YS-11), that popped up su…

  20. In my last post, I'd traveled from Milan to the island of Sicily located in the southernmost corner of Italy, isolated from the mainland by a thin body of water less than 2 miles wide at its narrowest point. Sicily is an island that I've always wished to visit in the virtual (or real...🙂...) world but never thought worthwhile to do so in my previous SIMs (such as FSX), though I recall there were a few community-created scenery add-ons available. In MSFS here, the default scenery is reasonably good to start with, and, here too, community (freeware) scenery enhancements exist (though those are not available for me, in Xbox). Nonetheless, today, I decided to wrap-up my Italy…
