Its amazing how time flies and the sim platforms have moved on leaps and bounds since then.😉

...🙂...Very true...Feels like only a few years ago, I was leaping across the global FSX terrain scenery of brown, and green, and blue patches...🙂...in extra-long-haul trips, in the only A340 I'd in my possession, you might recall the one by feelThere...🙂...It was a long wait for this one here, but it's worth it...

...Just out of curiosity, did you use the default Chicago O'Hare or use a scenery addon? I haven't flown to the States yet within MSFS2024. Just been doing some relatively short 2-3 hr hops in Europe having only installed the new sim recently. Currently using the default A320 NEO from Ini just to get a feel of what you can do in the sim.

Yes, I used (typically use) the default airport sceneries mostly, myself being on Xbox, where I try not to tax its resources ...🙂...I think both KORD and EDDF sceneries here are by Gaya Simulations...the same developer from our FSX/P3D days...🙂...The sceneries are decent, but as far as I know, they have not been re-touched or updated, since the early times of MSFS.

I've looked around closely both airport sceneries. At least, the iconic black Hilton Hotel of O'Hare and those (massive) Lufthansa Maintenance hangars (clearly visible just before touchdown...🙂...) are reasonably well-produced. I am aware there are now excellent add-on sceneries available for both EDDF/KORD, that are a must for the serious flyers...🙂...

Yes, all the iniBuilds default airliners for MSFS2024 are rather good...at least for the casual flyers like me...🙂...especially compared to the ones we used to get in FSX/P3D. Their A320/A321/A330 are my favorites, considering that unlike PMDG/iniBuilds, Fenix/FSLabs are not likely to adapt their a/c for Xbox. We'll see...

Enjoy your (recently installed) MSFS2024. The default a/c and scenery, especially on the PC, are good enough to get a feel for the SIM...🙂...

Cheers...!

...I am glad you were able to make a full Atlantic crossing without any issues.

Mark:

BTW, I wished to add a bit on this above point...there were no issues for me on Xbox/MSFS2024, except that I did see some "Fuel Crossfeed/Transfer" imbalance messages in mid-flight, which, as I recall, corrected by itself, without leading to any drastic consequences...above the high Atlantic...🙂...

The only other thing was that whenever I paused the SIM to take images, from external view; on return to the cockpit, the flightdeck would become blurry for a moment, but, again, it regained the textures quickly enough. I presume this is a limitation in my Xbox, but not on PC...

Otherwise, all good.

Have fun...!
