Hi to all. This is my first message on this forum and I'd like to ask something that has bothered me for a long long time...In 767 PIC there are land, taxi, strobe, beacon, wing and position lights. Now, from what I've seen position and wing lights are sometimes used when inflight and sometimes not. Is there any rule for that? And what's the exact function of those runway turnoff switches (I know they don't work in FS) and what are emergency lights (to be found somewhere behind on the overhead panel of a real 767)?Chris

I'm interested in taking a look at Ariane's IVSI/TCASII gauge but I can't locate it. Has anyone had any experience using it (other than info in the Van post)? I've tried the Ariane website, but it seems to be down. Is there anywhere else I may be able to locate this gauge? Thanks for any info...Jan

Not a frequent poster, but I just wanted to extend a personal "thank you" to everyone who contributed to this program. It has correctly predicted the flight times of my last 12 flights, most impressive being one flight of 9h13m and another of 10h04m.A definite "must-have" for all the PICers.RegardsRob

There are so many post on what is best for the PW model of the iFDG that I just simply got lost. I saw everything from using the RR airfile, static thrust settings, etc. Could someone post there CFG for a good setup. I noticed the iFDG PW model climbs real slow above FL250. Is there a way to fix that also. Also what is the best ZFW option to use. I saw several. Sorry for all the questions. I just got behind the times with all the updates and changes.

Have noticed the following problem the past few flights I have done.Reset MCP Altitude and commence Descent. Use the ECON Descnet forecasts of Mach 0.788/296 Knots. Commencing descent speed reduces from Mach 0.80 to approx M0.76 before catching up with itself around 26000ft when it has switched to 296 knots instead of the Mach 0.788.Is this in anyway related to the Taxi Thrust modification, as I cannot remember having this problem before I installed the Taxi Thrust Mod. Help Much appreciated.

Hi all. Is it possible t revert to basic radio navigation in pic. I fly real world dc-10s and we use the a fms with dual gps. While flying on fms im able to tune in a vor along a route and monitor the fms progress by swithcing the ehsi to vor. Our rad/fms button on the heading control panel allows us switch from fms track to radial as long as the nav aid is tuned up and the course is set. I couldnt figure out how to do this in pic. My company requires us to back up the fms with a different nav solution always.

  17. Hi Folks:After almost two years as Director of Fir-Bolivia, I thought that it was time to "really" see my friends and colleagues down there.I just returned from an unforgetable 8 days with my dear friends in La Paz (SLLP) and Santa Cruz (SLVR).I had the additional pleasure (arranged by them) to fly between La Paz and Santa Cruz in the cockpit of a LAB (real) B727-200, and let me tell you that crossing the Andes is a sight to be seen. Pictures to follow soon.To ice the cake of my visit, I got to fly in the cockpit of CP-2425 one of LAB's new 767-300ER's, as LB906 between Santa Cruz (SLVR) and Manaus (SBEG), 2:30 unforgettable hours as the first leg of the return to Miami.I…

I know the 763 is a long-haul aircraft, but (notwithstanding ATC restrictions) for flights of, say, 1 hour (eg repositioning flights) is it better to climb to a high-level FMC optimum cruise for 15 minutes or so, or stay lower and cruise for longer?

Last night I set up a flight from KDTW to KEWR on Vatsim with a Delta 767-200 with PIC and it was a blast.I am just getting back into 767PIC and have been reading the manuals again.I was so impressed with the way the ac handled and flew the route, but the best was at the arrival to EWR.I was using FSMetro coming in and the Vatsim controller in NY Center was great even with all his traffic he had going on.I went into the soup at 7000 and was starting to sweat about 3000 when I set up for a cat 3 landing on 4R,I came in on a 30 degree intercept for 4R and the 767 picked it up great and I was at 1000 feet and really was sweating flying blind and I finally broke out at 50 ft o…

I posted a note here a week or so ago in relation to the ILS not showing up for Runway 26 at KPHX (despite the fact that it exists in reality, and as far as I could see in the Navdata database for PIC767).In addition to this, there is a NDB called "Wollongong" (WOL for short) just south of Sydney - Australia. Even though it is in the Navaid database for PIC767, it doesn't show up on the ND?I remarked in my last post that if I found any more anomalies that I would report them here.......at least I think I remarked that?I think Richard Stefan (NAVDATA) was going to look into them when he has completed the upgrade he is currently working on! Thank goodness for Richard! Anyon…

I have just reloaded the PIC 767 after too long an absence and am back on the learning curve to master this baby.I have loaded the oribginal and updated with the FS2002 patch but cannot get the panel lights to work. When I press L for a quick fix with power on the backlighting flashes briefly then reverts to dark.I am using the PIC/POSKY merge in this but even the PIC version doesn't want to play.Any suggestions?

Hi Everyone,I just thought I would mention the availability of a fully functional simulation of the Rockwell Collins TVI 920 IVSI/TCASII version 7 software system that features both visual and aural indications as well as a test function. The gauge was designed by Ariane and is payware, but IMHO every bit worth the money and can be installed on any panel.I know that Lee Hetherington released an IVSI/TCAS gauge made specificly for 767 PIC and it in itself is a wonderful gauge and at some point he may upgrade the gauge to include the features of the Ariane gauge, but I just wanted to let people know that there is an alternative if they are interested and thats all.I include…

  23. Hi,Since a few days I -suddenly- have the following problem:I am able to start Squawkbox (version 2.3b4) running via WideClient, file a Flightplan and connect to VATSIM. I get connected, RW pops up, but after a few seconds SquawkBox freezes...From my taskmanager and firewall status, I can see that SB is eating up almost all cpu cycles and is listening in (and receiving bytes, from ...????) I tried to connect to another server, but no difference. I also tried without Roger Wilco, but also no result.I am running Widefs 5.41 and FSUIPC 2.975.Any help would be appreciated.Regards,Nico KaanEHAMhttp://home.planet.nl/~nwkaan

Hi,I'm using the PIC-POSKY merge (KLM).There are no pilot's faces behind the windscreen, the pilots are textureless. In the plane's texture folder are four bmp's:your_face1_L.bmpyour_face1_t.bmpyour_face2_L.bmpyour_face2_t.bmpThe "L" files show no face, just some sort of "halo" in MS Imagetool program. The "t" files show two different faces in MS Imagetool program. What do I do to give my pilots a face ?:-hmmm
