Hi,It has been noted in previous threads here that the real 767 autopilot trims the stabilizer after commanding the proper pitch angle but does not trim the rudder or ailerons. It was also mentioned by real 767/757 pilots (HPSOV et al.) that the autopilot will initiate a forward slip in a crosswind landing situation with LOC APPRCH mode (non-autoland) engaged. Question: when the pilot disengages the autopilot in this situation (i.e., the autopilot has configured the aircraft on approach for a forward slip), how does he/she maintain directional control as the rudder will no longer be deflected properly by the autopilot? It would seem that the slip would get messed …

Hi one and all.........my initial contact with PIC has prompted me to raise a question regarding an area where, for my money, MSFS has never worked, i.e. in simulating wind noise on gear down........the sound used has always had a very obvious oscillation to it and becomes progressively too loud for my delicate ears.........i find it particularly noticeable(and intrusive) in PIC(especially when in external view in replay mode)....................i'd like to remove it but am unclear as to how to do it..........any help would be appreciated.............alan d kerr

Hi,My question is regarding the rudder behavior when the Yaw Dampers are OFF. On FS2002 the Yaw Dampers have to be OFF to have Rudder control airborne which is necessary for flying single engine and directional control during crosswind landings. The FS2002 patch is a delight but it causes the rudder to oscillate between user input and max deflection whenever the user presses the rudder. The aircraft is still controlable yet this causes the heading to oscillate as the user tries to regain control. My question is: have you guys seen this behavior or know what is the ultimate cause? Any information would be much appreciated. P.S. FS2000 767 PIC did not have this problem.Than…

I folks--new user here:1. Is there a keystroke that we can use to replace the mystery mouse click to put the FMC into keyboard mode? Or else, is there a way to make that happen?2. I thought function keys F1-F12 act on the LSKs in keyboard mode. I'm not able to do that; therefore, I am using mouseclicks only on the LSKs. Is there a secret thing to do here? Thanks, all.DavidR

  9. Greetings All,What is the "alias" to use the PIC sound set with other add-on aircraft? I did some snooping this evening but I didn't have a lot of time and it didn't jump out as extremely obvious. I'm assuming it still works in FS2002 as it did in previous versions and all I need is a sound config file that says:(fltsim) <---parenthesis are actually bracketsalias=(fill in the blank here)soundThe default B747 uses the default 737 sounds and is set up that way.It reads:(fltsim)alias=B737_400soundIf anyone knows what alias I need to use to point other aircraft to the PIC 767 sound set I'd appreciate the info.Regards,Mike CollierKPHX[table border=1 bgcolor=#eeeeee][tr][td …

  12. Hi guys,I just got the 767PIC in the mail today and have it set up for FS2K2 patched to v1.2 et al. But I really need the last missing piece. At the risk of bringing down the wrath of the misinformed and arrogant, I'll be subtle. The file I need rhymes with "surge", it applies to a 300 model, I think the version is 3.0, and it was created by an under-appreciated, very helpful person that used to hang out in this forum. If one of you might be able to "accidentally" attach this file to an E-mail and send it to [email protected]. I would greatly appreciate it!Thanks,Marc

Would have posted to the POSKY forum, but it is closed yet again. My 762's, especially the AA one, get blurry textures. It seems that the aircraft is divided into thirds, with the front and rear thirds blurry and the central portion remains clear as a bell. Reloading the aircraft temporarily removes the problem, then it come back. Strangely, the 763's are unaffected.

I programmed a flightplan into the FMC last night for LAX to SFO (RW25R to SFO RW28L) and all went fairly well, but the DEP page had no SIDs listed for LAX. My pre-flight status was complete, everything else was fine, found STARs for SFO on the ARR page, but no SIDs for LAX. Is this just a fluke, something wrong locally at my end, or are no SIDs available in the Nav DB for LAX... seems strange not to. This would surprise me a bit since the FMC in 767PIC has been touted as the best FMC in flight simming. Any of you more knowledgable captains have any advice or info on this? Thanks,Grant

All,Following on from successful recovery from my FMS fuel "shortage" problem, here's my latest disaster while landing at KMIA out of KCLT. I thought I was stable, I thought I'd gotten over my excess speed - that's why the spoilers are up BTW. I was heading for victory and then...windshear? I confess I was caught with my pants down after only using real weather for a couple of flights. All I know is, I was not chasing the centreline - I never hit it anyway :) Actually, since I discovered that speed = altitude I think I've perfected my ILS approaches but that's another story.I would really appreciate the advice, comments, laughs I know you have stored up...but view at …

Hi folks, I got my PIC767 yesterday and since I'm in many cases trying to apply the logic I learned from the Dreamfleet 737 and the PMDG 777 to this plane, Im probably doing something completely wrong here! Oh, I have read the manual! :)However, I was just on an ILS approach and decided I wanted to handfly it instead since it wouldn't descend properly. Having disengaged the AP (pulled out the bar) it was simply impossible to descend. I tried full flaps, trimming all the way, used the pitch control wheel on the yoke. Nothing worked, it kept the altitude and I ended up stalling and spinning. Could anyone point me in the right direction (which probably will be a page in the …

Hi guys,I hate to be a bother... but I have just a few more PIC questions.1) I've read here that the included "emergency" adventures will not work with FS2K2. However, a few posts state that they DO work under certain circumstances. So what is the general concensus? Do the adventures work or not?2) If the adventures DON'T work - Is it safe to delete the PILOT folder, the ADVOTHER folder, and all the 767 sound files in the ADVWAV folder. If the adventures really don't work, I'm surprised that the patch doesn't delete this stuff automatically - it takes up a pretty good bit of room.3) Thanks to Lee, I'm using the POSKY aircraft models - so I really don't need the default ai…

Hello,Recently when using FSMeteo and PIC767 I encountered a gusty West Texas day when making an approach to KLBB. Winds were gusting at 10-25kts (not untypical for this part of TX), with a slight crosswind component. As I came out of the crab and flared at about 30ft AGL with flaps 30 and Vref pegged, the wind inevitably decided to gust hard and I wound up ballooning like crazy. Can you say, 'GO AROUND'.In a real 767, what is the proper landing and flare technique with a very gusty headwind? Thank you.

I put together static North Atlantic Tracks (NATs) for the FMC. (Maybe someone else has already done this, but I looked a bit and didn't find anything.) They are NATA..NATE westbound and NATU...NATZ eastbound.Whereas the real NATs change daily with the weather (see http://www.natroutes.glideslope.de/html/nats.php3 for current), these are the static NATs for use with VATSIM.Basically, unzip and paste into your wpNavRTE.txt file, but first make a backup copy. I believe you need to paste in in alphabetical order. I put these right after N994.http://www.sls.lcs.mit.edu/ilh/fs/767pic/vatsim-nat.zipLee Hetherington (KBOS)[link:www.sls.lcs.mit.edu/ilh/fs/DFMS734.zip]B734 Dre…
