Fellow PIC Freaks...http://www.eleventhstreet.com/pic/pic_faq.htmIt's time to get moving on this. The FAQ will be taking shape over time, and I am sure that it will be many months until we have something we are truly proud of.Many people responded to my original post and sent me e-mails offering their help (someone even pointed out that they had suggested it months ago). Now is the time to put your money where your mouth is.1) Take a look at the list of questions.2) Choose 2 that you are interested in (first come first serve).3) Send me an email specifying your choices.4) When I get back to you.. write it.5) Help your fellow PIC'rs - especially the new people - there is s…

Fellow PIC-Heads,Forgive me, for I have sinned. I was lured into temptation by magenta donuts and dancing hash marks; easiy seduced into the disgusting stench of evil by a pretty MCDU and a psychadelic rainbow of colour on a PFD. Led astray, I was dazzled and baffled by the light of new knowledge, like a mosquito into the bug zapper, the lure of new selfish sensations...for the only true danger is to posess a little knowledge. Curiosity killed the cat, falling behind the power curve at MLWeight killed me. After the mystery subsided, the light of new knowledge shone my way so brightly, the artificial horizon became clear...my true calling - my most sacred freind, led m…

Hi, I was wondering if you could raise the speed brake lever full aft during flight? Is this ok to do or the plane shake too much because of the drag? Or can you only raise the speed brakes 3/4 aft max and only full speed brake on the ground? Thank You :-)

This is how I manage these long hauls over the pond :-lol(I'm in the middle of renovating the house, so the office doesn't look too smart; the pilos does however)Kind regards,Stephan Haas

Hello,Just wondering about the current status of GPS integration with regards to commerical airline navigation. Is GPS certified in most countries as a valid navigation source with airline operations? Can airline flights make GPS approaches? To what extent do current fleets have GPS integration on their aircraft? I would guess that the only reason a company would not have GPS on it's older aircraft would be the cost of retrofitting the avionics into existing FMS's, that can't be cheap :)How does scanning DME used in the B767 aircraft (within range of land based navigational aids of course) compare with GPS in terms of overall positional accuracy? On a side not…

Just wondering if the hydraulic Power Transfer Unit is an option on 767's? (There doesn't seem to be one in PIC).A pilot was asking on the PPRuNe website why there was no Right A/P operation on the real 767 when the L & C hydraulic systems were both inop. The response was that the Stab Trim system needs the L/C hydraulic systems...and the Autopilot needs the trim system to operate properly. However, according to my notes, Manual Trim (using the control column trim switches) can be achieved in the air with the L & C Hydraulic systems switched off because of a device known as a "PTU" (Power Transfer Unit) located in the tail of the 767. This uses the Right Hydraulic …

Hi all,I am considering buying the Aerosoft MCP and am wondering if all the functions work properly with 767PIC? Is anybody out there using this hardware and are there any problems associated with it? It's a lot of money to splash out (3 1/2 hours in my logbook for a start, UK prices obviously :-eek) but worth it for me if the product works.Best regards,John C

Hello again :-) I know the flap speeds are V-ref 20, 40, 60, 80 but lets say I depart with flaps 5; can I bring the flaps to 1 at V-ref 20 then up on V-ref 40? Or I have to wait until V-ref 60 or V-ref 80 to retract the flaps? Also I am flying a SID with a left turn immediately after departure, what is the bank angle limit on take-off and how high should I fly before starting any turn on the 767? Thank You.

Hi I was wondering in the real world which pilot performs the outside inspection of the 767 aircraft? Does the F/O perform the outside check and the captain performs the scan check in the cockpit or is it reversed? Or it is airline specific? If so which way does an airline like AA do it? Thank You. :-)

Last night I got the chance to be part of the pre-flight cockpit checks of a Cargolux 747-400 at KJFK prior to departure to Mexico. We flew the pilots in there in a King Air 100 from KHSV( Huntsville,AL) and they offered us a tour of the year old 747-400 freighter.I'm a huge 767 PIC enthusiast and I was amazed to see how close the MCP,FMS, ND and EHSI is to the 767PIC.(Yes I know the panel layout is different) The only major differences was the EICAS and the LEGS page on the FMS where you would press the ROUTE DATA page to insert the winds at different waypints/altitudes. Why isn't this feature simulated in 767PIC's FMS??Thanks to the two nice German Cargolux pilots and g…

To all Geforce drivers out there!I have bought a GF4 MX 440 (I know, should have taken the TI4400), and I just can't get FS2002 to run properly. The problem is with anti aliasing. If it is not on, then smoke effects become dark and ugly rectangles. Also, light effects are not rendered properly. Then, if I turn on AA, I either lose my menu-bar or the panel goes pink after a while. I tried every AA setting, but nothing helped. The only way I can get it to work is in window mode, but I don't like it as it is slow. (not only FPS wise, but also menu wise)I know I am not the only one suffering from this, so it can't be a hardware issue. I've tried half a dozen drivers (even rei…

Has anyone out there noticed that the new COA PIC 757 displays the "Same" ref speeds no matter what weight the aircraft is. Today I landed extreamly fat on fuel due to excellent winds over the Atlantic. On arrival at KPHL from EGLL, we had 25K left in the tanks instead of the 8K that was planned. The FMC calculated a ref speed of 128 Kt for 20 flaps, 123 Kt for 25 flaps, and 119 kt for 30 flaps. These are the exact same numbers I had the other day when the fluel load was aproximately 5K.All of the other FMC functions seem to be working as they do in PIC767. Any ideas what might be wrong?Terry

Up until this date I have always regarded 767PIC as being the best ever addon, and exactly like the real thing!Yet, today I get module one for my ATPL's through the post and I am finding that I can use 767PIC to revise all the FMS procedures and it's such a great asset to my studies! Thanks again Team!

Hello all. This weekend I flew in my first PIC on VATSIM event. Incredible stuff. Here is my little account of the PAR approach. After flying from Cranbrook to Calgary, then Edmonton, I took of from the later right after Michael Bevington, who was flying as AAL327. Since it was a 150nm leg, I only climbed to FL190, where I had the time to change my visibility settings in FSUIPC. I was feeling lucky, so I typed 45 accross the board, which translates to a little less than a 1/2 mile.I have never done a PAR before. I fly in real life, and have done non-precision radar approaches here in Florida, but after that controller got me 1/4 of a mile off from the centerline (he di…

What a fantastic job by Mike Gloude on the PAR approach. Thanks particularly to Mike Langhan for getting the ATC all lined up in Edmonton Center and also thanks to the entire Edmonton Staff. And to Phil Elchitz, a special thank you for covering Vancouver Center for us today.I have included a screenshot of Servinfo showing all who joined us today. A rear view shot departing Edmonton is first followed by landing shots at Cold Lake. For the landing shots, I positioned my tower view just off the approach course for Rwy 31R. In order of appearance (not necessarily landing order) is:Rob HallIan ElchitzBrian CruseDan PergauDan Pergau and David ChristianDean BarryIan Mitchell…

My 767 seems can't follow the LOC properly, it always aligned a bit right of the runway, and getting worse while approaching runway, this happened at all runways i've flown~Any idea? When i fly the PSS aircraft, they both land perfectly, so maybe there are some mistake in PIC navedata?

I can't seem to get this blooming PIC/POSKY merge to work. I have tried every single thing. The manual way, by copy and pasting all the files. The setup.bat which doesn't even work. Therefore I am at the point of selling PIC as it is off no use to me with it's shoddy visual model.Frame rates are poor with the visual model so can someone please be a savior and help me?Any ideas please send them to [email protected].
