Hi. I'd like to know how to enable what I think is called "VERT SPD" in the 767. I would like the autopilot to adjust pitch to fly the plane at a specified airspeed. I saw references to VERT SPD in the manual, but I did not see instructions on how to activate it.Thanks,Rudy

Hi, when you create a flight plan to a destination and the destination has no STAR, does the flight plan go all the way toward the VOR over the airport even if you get vectored? Or do you end the flight plan at a point about 50 to 100 miles away to get vectors towards the airport? Thank You. :-)

I have been flying the PSS Airbus for a long time now but have just decided to get myself current again on the 767. However, I cannot remember how to load stored FS2002 flightplans into the FMC. At present I am having to build the route bit by bit. Can someone advise me as I am sure there was a way?RossNottingham, England

Thanks to JonasGrumby's post, I was able to get my VFR/LANDING View to work as a minipanel, and therefore get lights and raindrops! I'll need some time to work some things out, and a joystick with programmable buttons may be a limitation-- we'll see... Anyways, at least we know it can be done. Thanks Jonas!Sincerely,Phil Geddes

Hi WELP -I really want to raise a few points for your new project, regarding external hardware. I hope it will be helpful to you as it sure be helpful to us users.1. First of all, if possible, program some way of (two way)communication between your panel and external hardware. This is extremely important for cockpit builders in particular, and for users of hardware such as aerosoft 747MCP or go flight equipment.2. Some extra controls for cockpit builders would also be great: for example, making it possible for a master caution led on a homemade panel to come on whenever the master caution is lit on your panel.3. In accordance with the two paragraphs above, connectivity wi…

How do you guys slow to meet the 250k speed restriction at 10,000'? I'm coming down from the flight levels around 2000' per minute and can't seem to get slowed to 250k, even with speed brakes. Of course, I can adjust my rate of descent near the 10,000' call, but from riding the 767 in real life, I don't believe that's the procedure. The "feel" I get in real life is that they simply power back to idle and that's enough to slow down. How are you guys doing it? :-)

First off, thanks to Phil Geddes for his AWESOME VFR panel! And thanks to whoever (I think Phil again?) did the mixing/fixing of Daniel Carieri's killer PW sound! I've rekindled my love for the 767 becaues of these two killer tweaks! Anyway, now that I've paid my hommage (sorry Lee!) I was just curious as to whether or not PIC updated for 2k2 has TCAS, and if so, how does one turn it on? I read the updates on the website but didn't see any mention of TCAS. Am I just blind?-drew

Hello, I was just wondering if there is any way that I could calculate in advance what the Vref would be at landing. I know the FMC shows the speeds an the approach page, but the Vref keeps changing as the plane gets lighter so how can you know what the V speed will be in advance when you start the approach briefing? I have seen real world airline videos and during the briefing the captain mentions Vref speed. Is that what the speed will be on landing? Or do they keep updating the Vref speed on the FMC as the plane gets lighter? If so I see no reason to mention the Vref in the briefing if the captain has to keep updating the Vref in the Vref page. Thank You.:-wave

I recently purchased and installed 767 PIC in fs2000 and also installed the patch (1.1) also. But i noticed that when the autothrottle mode switches from VNAV SPD to VNAV PTH, the a/t commands maximum thrust, which at FL370, equates to an average mach of .838, not realistic or economical. Also, i notice the N1 value "flutters" around 105%. When I'm climbing, the a/t keeps the IAS at 309 (econ climb) after 10000 and up to FL300 then right on mach .800, at least until the top of the climb. Right when i hit cruise FL, the a/t commands full thrust. Even if I manually enter a speed to hold, the result is the same. I know that this isn't an issue with my joystick throttle contr…

Hi, I was wondering how do you read the trim scale? It does not explain it in the manual. It has numbers from 0-12 and when you shut down the Hydraulics it goes to 6 units. Is 6 units the neutral position for the stabilizer and 6-12 is up and 0-6 is down? :-) Thank You.

While on a flight from PHNL to PGUM (Guam) I lost my IRU alignment hence also lost EHSI, EADI & AFDS. I switched the alignment switches to ATT, entered my current heading and regained the EADI but nothing else.So there I was lost over the Pacific somewhere between PHNL and PGUM. I called Flight Services (FSNAV) and obtain a direct heading to Wake Island. Initiated an emergency landing, realigned the IRU, chased down one of the passengers who fell in love with one of the native ladies and continued the flight without incident.I didn't see it covered in the manual but maybe I missed it. I didn't realize you lose the aircraft's autopilot when you lose your IRU alignm…

Hi,how do you manage the following things when trying to hold the glideslope / loc. while in man. approach:1. Holding pitch: Do you use mainly the yoke (pulling/pushing) and the elevator-trim or only trim (as the AP does)?? ...together with the throttle..2. On final: How do you catch the centerline without looking at the flight-displays for the last second??? ...is missing a bit normal??3. On touchdown: What is your way to prevent from jumping...??( not 15 feet high ;) ) Just did read a story in PPRune where the Profs made their jokes on that happening in real world....Maybe the questions need three books to be answerd ..... even one would be appreciated ... :-lolThanks, …

What is the correct way to execute a procedure turn with a large transport aircraft such as the 767? I'm guessing one does not fly the 45' wedge pattern depicted in IAP's but rather a teardrop shape or something similiar.I do realize that most instrument approaches with an airliner are radar vectored, but there are a few small airports here in the US served by 757 and 767-200's that do not have approach controls (other than Center). As I understand it, Centers here do not usually conduct surveillance approaches like local approach does, therefore the full IAP is flown with PT in these cases. Thank you!

Hi All, This should be an easy one for some of you...I have installed PIC into FS2K2 and added patch and latest NAVDATA.When I go to my aircraft folder I have a folder named 767 PIC Wilco Publishing. Inside seems to be all that is needed including the texure folder which is for some reason EMPTY. However, I have the textures in my FS2002 scenery file. Hmm how'd it get over there?I suppose I need to link the two files? Maybe not....??..??If I decide to use a repaint of the PIC model, where should I insert that file? Can I insert if instead of the default while I'm fixing my problem of "no textures"?The only texture that shows in "select a/c" box in FS2K2 is the Wilco …

Hi everyone, to my disappointment the 767 crashes to the desktop every single time I try to pick my STAR on the FMC. My routine is normally to build my flightplan in FSBuild and load it up. I only purchased PIC yesterday but I am quite familiar with FMC operation fom other add-ons of admittedly lesser functionality. Anyway my system specs (If that is useful)are:850 Duron, 390MB DDR RAM, GeForce4 4200 on a W2K OS.Any help would be grately appreciated!Happy simming,
