When I turn on my landing lights at night I don't see them from my main panel view, or the new updated VFR view. What controls wether you see them or not? I'm using the POSKY model with the PIC panel and I used Lee's tutorial to do it. Anything else works fine though.Any ideas? Many Thanks,

I've been away from Flightsimulator for several months and just recently I decided to get back into it. I own the PIC 767 and I read somewhere in the past that the default skin is a real frame rate killer - can anyone instruct me how to replace the PIC 767 skin? Also, is there a program available that's either shareware or payware that I can use for flight planning with the PIC 767? Is there anything available that will spit out airline routes? Thanks.

Hi all,I was flying KLAX - NZAA, just a little over 5700nm. About 350 miles out of NZAA my ADI, ND, VSI and ADI just shut down. The ADI and ND weren't completely off, they just only had the background data on them that you see before you align the IRU's. The batteries weren't dead as the lights, FMC, etc were running. Does anyone have any idea what caused this and how to fix it? I have an autosave of the flight and I'd really like to finish it if I can get the flight deck back online. :)-Shaun

Sorry to bother you all with such a trivial question:I got to thinking about it the other day... Lets pretend (Since that's what most of us are doing every time we start FS2002) that you had to disconnect one on the generators from the engine due to some failure (e.g. overheating). What is the correct procedure to follow regarding having a backup system to your backup. By this I mean, if you are running on one generator, the only other electrical sources you have are the other generator, the APU (which is not running, at least if I follow the checklist) and the battery. If it where me acting only on instinct (Because I've searched and haven't found the answer), I would sta…

Just a quick question as I'm about to run Lee Hetherington's conversion utility. Excuse my ignorance, but is there a way to tell for sure if I have a version 2 or a version 3 Posky model? Thanks.Drew

Take a look at http://www.airliners.net/open.file/294127/L/ TAT of 51*C! :-eek Or am I mistaken? Sure Turkey is warm, but this hot? Can the residual heat of a flight be this effective?

Hi I know you are supposed to turn on the engine Anti-ice at 10c or below in visible moister. The problem with that is that I am so busy flying the aircraft and setting the FMC that I forget to turn it on :-). Just some questions that the PIC manual did not clear up for me. Can I just turn on the engine anti-ice on the ground before take-off if I expect clouds on the climb even if it

I have got my VFR panel on a forward view WITHOUT using the "minipanel". As you can see the rain works great, as for the landing lights, they work with a "Posky 300" but not with the default aircraft. I think that most will use a Posky anyway seeing that it has much better frames and textures. I am working on view angles right now and need to make a hidden gauge to switch from Main Panel to Vfr. One more thing that you might be interested in. I can now use my joystick "hat" to look sideways and see the default bitmaps and it will come right back to the landing view! Now back to work! Hi!I just discovered that the B767 AOM says that "for a 3-degree glideslope the attitude should be 1-1.5 deg ANU". (thank you Martin :))This is confusing, as I remember some IRL 767 pilot here posting that the approach should be done ~ 2.5 deg. ANU and the flare should be pulled back to 5 degrees ANU. So there's a slight difference, and now I'm wondering what is the right thing to do. Obviously, an AOM is an AOM and has good, valid data, but all my PIC flights and approaches have gone well with the "2.5 deg on approach and 5 deg. in flare" -technique. If I set up an approach with speed back to Vref + 5 kt, the nose seems to want to be at 2.5 deg ANU to get a perfect desce…

Hello again, during a cockpit visit a while back on an AA 757, I noticed the pilots performing the before start checklist. The captain performed a Radar and TCAS check, I believe the copilot reached a switch on the overhead panel but I

Boston ARTCC is please to announce a new feature for transaltantic flights to and from Boston involving the following European cities > EGBB/Birmingham, EGCC/Manchester, EGKK/Gatwick, EGLL/Heathrow, EGPF/Glasgow, EGPH/Edinburgh, EGSS/Stansted, LGAV Athens < for PIC767 users. Boston has joined with NY in making Transatlantic travel easier than ever with a new flightplanner that allows you to choose from a drop-down list of routes, NATs and charts. The new system is in beta, hence we only have a few cities involved and the planner only generates a PIC767 plan for your selected route at this time. I have a 767-300 sitting on the ground at LPPS, due to be in EGCC in 2 hrs because of a tech problem! I enabled random failures during the air, as I had never tried it before in FS2002, but shortly after I did, I had an autopilot failure, Flight director failure, and the rudder went funny?!I had to fly her down and travel 100nm by hand!Anyway, why is this? I got to LPPS, my divertion, and "Repair all failures"...but it tells me that I had nothing wrong with the aircraft?I tried everything whilst I was up there, but I am putting it down to maybe a software bug or MY COMPUTER!? (most probably the latter?).Please:)

Hi everybody,I just tried the MiniPanel suggestion for the landing view for PIC.I think I have followed the instructions correctly from what I've read in here, but maybe I did something wrong, cause it doesn't work! So, I'm seeking your help.First, let me point out that I tried it with the setup of Randy's implementation with the VSI rather than Phil's.Whenever I press W to switch to the minipanel, FS crashes...You know, We are sorry we screwed up your flight, and do you want to tell us about it etc...So, I assume I did something wrong.Could someone that have this configuration working please post step by step instructions on how to do it?Thanks!Fly Safe,George DorkofikisA…

Can anyone tell me how to reset the speed bugs. They set up OK for takeoff on a new flight (i.e. new start of FS2002) and they reset OK for landing (by clicking hidden locator at bottom left of guage). The problem occurs on successive flights when I set up for the new flight I cannot get the bugs to reset for a new takeoff. Any suggestions appreciated.Mark.UPS1006

Thank you to all who joined us flying around the world on our charityflight for the Herbie charity (Toronto Sick Kids organization which I believe flies sick kids to Toronto for treatment).Thank you Wade, Eric, Laurent and Pedro for a fantastic package. I learned a ton of new things about PIC767 from the pros (Ryan, Rob, 1/4 mile Bill, Haroon and others) and after a few days of back to work sanity may fire up my flight simulator again =)For now I have to get back to Ottawa (I'm in Rob Hall's great hotel in Markham), do my dishes I didn't get done on Wednesday morning (not looking forward to that) and if time permits schedule some katana flights for the week.... woohoo!Ag…

I have just moved into a new place and set up my system, a long withdrawal since I had to stay at friend's place for a couple of weeks and decided to fly again with my PIC after a long hiatus. I prepared dinner put some rice on and went through the checklist getting ready to takeoff climb to my cruise altitude etc. I went and checked the stove (just had a pot) and was ok b ut was so enthralled i suddenely jumped up ran to the kitchen and woah!!Holy Smoke!!! Yup, hunger is bad, smoke is bad, do not fly PIC and cook rice without a genuine made in Japan rice cooker. :-doh I hope I can save other PICers from a similar fate.

I guess I should've posted this earlier :) What I've done with my setup is assign a default forward 'look down' angle to my PIC767 panel to suit my own personal tastes and to always have the runway in sight during approaches will full panel view. These are my settings under the 'view' section of my 767PIC panel.cfg file:[VIEWS]view_forward_WINDOWS=0VIEW_FORWARD_ZOOM=0.72VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=9.0, 0.0, 0.0VIEW_FORWARD_RIGHT_WINDOWS=31VIEW_FORWARD_RIGHT_DIR=1.0, 0.0, 45.0VIEW_RIGHT_WINDOWS=32VIEW_RIGHT_DIR=2.0, 0.0, 90.0VIEW_REAR_RIGHT_WINDOWS=33VIEW_REAR_RIGHT_ZOOM=1.3VIEW_REAR_RIGHT_DIR=2.0, 0.0, 135.0VIEW_REAR_WINDOWS=36VIEW_REAR_ZOOM=0.87VIEW_REAR_DIR=18.0, 0.0, 0.0VIEW_…

hello everyone!!I have been using pic for a while now, and I think I need some information...On the ground, my RA indicates -6 ft,which causes the autopilot to flare and set thrust to idle a bit too early/high during autoland.Result: everything goes well untill 0 ft RA on the eadi, where the plane levels off for a while, and as speed decreases, goes through the remaining 6 feet a bit SUDDENLY.Nothing really worrying actually, but the autoland would be perfect if everything started.... 6 ft higher !!So my question is: is there a way to bring up the "ground reference RA" to zero? Thanks a lot...
