Dear Sirs, I run RCv4 (just installed) with FSX, and all seems to be fine, until I try to make my first contact to RCv4 (eg: get weather, or call tower etc). Rcv4 does not react to my numeric keys at all!Any idea what can be the reason? best regardsGabor P

I Purchased Radar Contact V4, FS build 2, and Active Sky Evolution (lastest build with SP2), I have FSUIPC V4 and FSX w/ SP2. I made my flight plan in FSbuild, opened ASE and launched FSX from ASE, using the windowed FSX I opened Radar Contact, loaded the Flt Pln without issue. When I attempted to start RCv4 I rec'd an IPC Error. I went through the Forum here and made sure I had all the correct versions of the programs, as a matter of fact that is what prompted me to by the latest version of ASE, so I would have the correct build. I tried several times to start RCv4 always getting the IPC Error. I found that if I made my Flt Plan, then opened FSX alone, did not start ASE,…

Hi,I had my first RC flight tonight KPDX_KYKM. Install was ok but, had the Windows DLL error problem. The email registration process was a but frustrating. However, overall for a first flight I think it was a great improvement over stock FS ATC.It seemed to mix up FS ATC and RC on the inital call for ATIS both FS and RC atis were going. Any tips to get around this? Also, I use ASE religiously can ASE work insync during the flight with RC. I noticed altimer differences between those on RC and pressing "b" were different. What is this about? Importantly, altitude assignments and squak codes were very hard to understand. I think this was the voice accent. Any thoughts?Have …

OK, I did a search for this and didn't find anything specific, so I guess I need a bit of help here.I'm using the latest version of RC with FSX, Windows 7-64. I make a flight plan up in FS Commander that saves it for RC and FSX. That said, I generally select the flight plan from the FSX directory for RC so both are sure to have exactly the same plan.The problem has happened on the last 2 of 5 flights. This is the issue:I am flying under ATC normally. I'm getting instructions for climbs and all appears fine. I am not sure if I shoul re Perchase Radar contact again. I have used so many activations since I have originaly bought it. Probably over 35. I belive after so many reg key request I got cut off. I have had a volital system and I am trying to find new ways of making it last longer that a few months with out redoing the entire system from scratch. ( formatting and reinstalling windows 7 and fsx)I would be more that happy to re buy radar contact but I dont know If I could get a reg key again if I did. If I get the DVD version does it ask for a reg key based on a hard ware id number? BTW I hate that my hard ware number changes every time I reset my system. Also thanks to J…

For some reason after I get the clearance to descend and maintain "X" altitude and ATC wants me down 30 miles or less a little later the co pilot says "approach "XXX" needs to leave the frequency to get weather" and then for some reason FS9 just CRASHES! getting very irratating too. I figured that this will always cause a crash if the ATIS in the afcad is set to one thing but radar contact has another. What I usually do is go to controller info before I start RC and just change the frequency to the correct one my afcad has and it usually works. HOWEVER my last 2 flights have crashed when Otto wants to leave the frequency to get weather. The weird thing is I didnt have to …

While trying to fly out of Canberra YSCB in two different light aircraft the ground frequencies I was given to contact controllers with were off the scale (below the lowest available freq in the radio range). ATIS worked fine but nothing else because of this problem: I think the freqs provided by RC were around 116.xx while the aircraft radios only went down to 118.xx. (as I recollect).Does anyone else have a problem at this airport? Am I missing something?I use Orbx FTX add-ons for Australia, although I have not installed their Canberra Airport scenery.My computer OS is Win 7/64, with FSX.Regards,John G

Hi,Maybe I am missing something but I was not far into my flight and decided to check QNH at local position. The change resulted in a few hundred feet difference. When I change it, of course I get hit by the controller to maintain my altitude. My cruise altitude for this GA flight was 6000. How can I avoid the slap from ATC and still maintain the correct altitude. RegardsBob

Hi,I was curious if anyone is using the RXP 500w or 400 series GPS's and can verify that FlightPlans created by the RXP GPS can be used with RC. The reason I ask is that when reading the RXP docs, the GPS needs to create the Flight Plan and then export that plan. It stated something about FS only being able to use an airport as a starting and ending waypoint. Just a little confused as I have not yet been able to get to the point with the GPS to export a flight plan. I did not want to continue with this if for some reason the exported flight plan would not work with RC or for some other reason the two are not compatible.ThanksBob

Hi,I am really new to RC, ASE and FSUIPC and there seems to be considerable chatter about reported winds and how it affects AI, runway selection etc. This seems like a very important subject and was wondering...............There is a pinned topic titled "Attention ASE FSX Users" and was hoping there might be a way to keep the latest findings (facts), settings etc that affect users of ASE and FSUIPC as it pertains to RC. There seems to be alot of interest with these topics and maybe its just me, but I find it really difficult to pick out the facts so I can make the necessary adjustments. I have recently started receiving QNH values from RC that result in more than 500 feet variations over just a few minutes time resulting in my busting altitude. Any ideas what might be causing this?

I've made two flights to KOAK flying north from the L.A. area. These were real world flight plans obtained from Flight Aware. In both cases, when I get handed off to Approach and get initial vectors to the rwy (in this case, RWY 29) I subsequently lose all contact with ATC. I was at 4000 feet MSL when this occurred. Hi,RC4.x (latest) and having it up to date with my scenery, I experience often that RC misses a waypoint I sure passed. Evertime I hear RC talking to a lot of AI in the area while I fly over a waypoint. I have timewarp at max of 2x That should not be the problem, right?So why is RC missing to recognise me flying directly over a waypoint? Why does talking to AI gets RC to miss waypoints and yelling at me for it?

I accept that there is a whole bunch of subtle details of RC that I have not learned even after all this time, and I accept that I often do things wrong - but - sometimes RC is simply incomprehensible in its response to me.Three times I asked for a Direct To and was given it, but each time RC then told me to "Fly heading x until suitable for navigation". And the heading was to where? To a waypoint that I had asked - and been give permission - to miss.Three times - I asked for the next waypoint on my plan, got given it, then told to go back again.And once again, what the dickens is "Until receiving suitable for navigation"? Hi Has anyone else experinced when loading a prev.RCD file that the cockpit does not open as well and is not able to get it back on screen?? I use the PMDG 747 and have tried several times now to safe a flight both in the default fsx, pmdg panel save, and via the hotkey used by RC4,3, and where the cockpit usely is there is nothing, and not reapering when chosing the cockpitview in view options.... Today I was flying VFR from KPDX (Portland, OR) to OR39 (Flying Tom, OR). As you can see, my route slightly crosses over KSLE (McNary Field, Salem, OR) which lies within Class D airspace. My altitude was 4,500ft while ceiling of KSLE Class D airspace, as indicated on Seattle Sectional, is 2,700ft. When close to KSLE I had to contact KSLE clearance to get confirmed for flying into Class D space but this didn't happen... I figured that RC knows my altitude and the ceiling of airspace around KSLE and since I was flying ABOVE that ceiling (i.e. in Class E airspce), I was not requested to contact KSLE clearance. Is this how RC works?!?Thanks!

Hello,I usually get calls from ATC telling me that I am at the wrong altitude. My altimeter is showing the right altitude and altimeter setting is set to what ATC is telling me. I use Active Sky Evolution for generating weather.Any suggestions?

Flying out of KJFK to EGLL the other night I was caught on the hop by instructions I have not heard before.Flying runway heading with the Hapie3 SID in the flightplan, I was expecting to be told to follow as filed or maybe be given a heading to follow. The controller instead read off a list of letters to follow. It all happened so fast I can't remember what they were.What was he referring me to?

Hi,Thought I lost comms but did a couple of "say agains" and it was functioning but sat at the runway with no traffic for 15 minutes. finally aborted the take off.What causes this and when should I make the determination that the tower just forgot about me? RegardsBob

Hi anyone got any ideas got the msstdfmt.dll file finally reg but still getting the error still, i put the dll file in windows syswow64 which is on my c drive and radar contact and fsx are on my e drive since got two drives.
