Hi All,I'm a RC newbie. I was on an IFR flight KPDX - KYKM. All was fine cruise altitude of 15,000ft. Then RC tells me to decent to 9,000 about 60 miles out for beginning of approach. Once at 9,000 I look out the window and I'm about to experience CFIT (Controlled Flight Into Terrain) into Mt. Rainier which peaks around 12,000 feet. :( My request for higher altitude was denied :( and I deviated from my assigned altitute to 12,000 to barely pass over Mt. Rainer, and approach went smoothly from there on. My FSX generated route was via V448 which goes over the top of Mt. Rainier never near the peak at 15,000 ft.Any ideas how to prevent RC induced CFIT? I'm looking for a good ATC window for RC4.I would like to change color and size of letters...and move the window over to a second screen.Ideas are appreciated.zach

How does RC interact with TRACON?? I fly into EWR alot and in real life they go to TRACON and I was wondering how this works with RC??

I have RC V-4 running with FS9, purchased way back 2006. With FSX installed on a separate computercan I install my RC from the disk? All I have is the Prod ID #; how could I get a new key toactivate RC on the new installation?RegardsDSave Wightman

Morning guys, i have just built a new rig for FSX, everything is up to date, addons and hardware i installed rc v4.3 for fsx but it never responds. I open rc, start fsx then start rc. I was abel to get a wx report once but couldnt contact ground but now i cant even tune atis. I run ase in direct weather control and have unregistered fsuipc 4.6.6.1 installed. Last night rc would not even close down. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but no joy. Im running win 7 64. Any ideas what im doing wrong guys?Thanks in advanced

I am sure this has been discussed, but I am unable to find exactly the answer I need by searching the forum. RC continues to assign me a landing runway that is INTO oncoming AI traffic. i know that I can manually request a different runway but that takes away from the realism for me. Do I have a setting wrong or is there something I am missing? Any suggestions?

Thanks to an RC user posting a report on the FSUIPC Support Forum, I've discovered a bug in the VRInsight device handling facilities which causes the Radar Contact menu window to be hidden on startup, rather than visible.The next incremental releases of FSUIPC3 and FSUIPC4, in the "Download Links" subforum on my Support Forum will include a fix for this, but meanwhile the workaround is to use the FSUIPC "Hot Key" facility to program a keypress to toggle the display's visibility. Hi, I would like your opinion, if you think RC4.3 would work for our small regional air operations and would be using it to it's potential. Setup: Win Xp pro, 2.66GH/2 computer. FSX, WideView, Wide traffic (7 systems) , Worldwide WX every 15 mins.We fly less than 10,000 feet and cover WA, OR, ID, MT, Northern UT. Charter and Cargo. Mostly cargo. Fleet: DC-3 Cargo, DC-3 Pass charter, 2 Beech D-18's, C-172 and C-150. Usually fly IFR most of the time because of the weather. Hi guysJust a quick one, once or twice whilst using RC my route (generated by Vroute) has run out before I've reached the destination. Do I have to have a waypoint at the arrival end, other than the airport itself? When this happens I still don't know my arrival runway so the FMC bings with 'end of route' and I end up flying into the unknown. Any deviation from my heading gets me yelled at as presumably RC is expecting me to fly direct to the airport from the last waypoint. Are there any hard and fast rules about number of waypoints needed and how far from the end of the route they need to be? TaBen

Hello.What would happen in the real world if I flew at, say, 8000 feet from an area with TA = 18000 to another with TA = 3000.I did this (or noticed it) for the first time last night (France to UK) and maintained 8000 feet even when in the new airspace until I was ordered down to FL60. I received an 'Altimeter check' shortly before the new flight level (which may be a bit of a hint).I understand that if I was always under the TA I wouldn't alter the altimeter setting during changing weather conditions until given a new QNH but in the above case would I be expected to remain at 8000 feet until given a FL?Regards,D

Many many times, RC puts me in very close proximity to AI planes. I'm not sure why. Does RC not communicate with AI traffic? I'm using My Traffic 2010, do AI planes do their own thing and RC does something else? Can someone clarify how My Traffic 2010 works with RC and vice versa? Thank you.

Sometimes near the end of a flight I receive a OOM error and the flight stops. I fly heavies with FS2004, RC4 and FDC Live cotpit. I also (throught FSUIPC) save a flight every 5 minutes. I can restart FS2004 with the "saved flight" and also restart FDC but I can not figgure out how to "restart" RC4 in mid flight. Is it possibe and if so how do you do it? Thanks jerrycwo4

First post here, so hi!As I'm about to take the plunge on v4 of RC, I was wondering if I will be elidgable for future, major upgrades? Be it free or discounted? I hear that v5 is in the works, so I don't want to buy v4 only to have to buy v5 shortly after.

Greetings,I'm trying to set the path for weather, and the outcome is only "Z:\Document and". It should be "Z:\Documents and Settings\Matthew\My Documents\Flight Simulator Files"The second issue is when I click "FS200x Flight Plan (*.pln)" it takes FOREVER to bring up a dialog box. The reason is the last time I opened a file was from a UNC. That UNC no longer exists. Any way to clear the last used file in a setting anywhere?Thanks a bunch.-Matt

The last few flights I have had a new "error" appearing at the end or near the end of a flight. I'm flying the LVLD B-767 with RD4 and Flight Deck Companion Active Cockpit. When this error appears the info in the RD4 (or FSUIPC Display) window disapears. I can minimise and find this error on my desktop : "FSUIPC- Wait, cannt get D0008 to change from 3550442 always 3550442."I think I remember that on differant flights the numbers in the message change.What does this error message mean?What do the numbers mean?Is there a way to fix this problem?How?Thanks jerrycwo4

How to you restore the default FS9 ATIS? For the past couple of flights I have been using RC4, so I disabled ATIS. I am currently learning a new flight model and I would like to restore ATIS until I am comfortable with the new package. I did restore the ATC option of FS9, check all three boxes, and I did restore the ATC sound options. But as of right now I have neither sound or the display available to me in FS9.ThanksTom

Hi,I would like to fly on Vatsim, but sometimes you can loose ATC coverage and in that event I would like RC to carry on as my ATC. Is there a way to do something like this?

While flying a flight plan the other night, RC was performing fine, however 10 to 15 mins out from completeing the flight RC chatter just stopped and I had a run time error. Is there any way to restart RC and pick up the coverage while in flight? Restarting RC only brought it back to the very begining of the flight plan and the controllers acted as if I were at the airport starting from the gate while I was actually at 25K ft somewhere over NY. It would really be great if you could pick up the control of the aircraft while in flight, as it was I ended my flight where it was at.Jim K, Greenville NC

Hi,I used to use the RCv4 in fs9 without problems..Now I installed FSX and the RCv4..but there is no MODULES in the fsx- choises (the upper line in the screen where you can choose flights, views, options etc) and therefore I can get no ADV window...Can you please help me? I am sure that there is a solution, but...I could not find it out myself..best regardsGabor P

The version of documents that we have referencing RCV4 does not cover the .FLT/.WX box in RCV4. Can someone explain what that selection box is used for. Jim K, Greenville NC

Hello again.I have to ask this one too. I'm sure that I once read that it's possible to have the RC menu box on a manual toggle with a registered copy of FSUIPC but when I click the 'close window' X in the corner of the box, it still reappears after a couple of minutes.(I confess I made quite a hash of things while messing around with it last night and even ended up with an un-removable MSFS green message tape showing the RC menu options. Took a reinstall of FSUIPC to settle things back into place. Oops...)Is the manual toggle possible?Thanks.D

I usually get clearance for landing (by RC) right after some other plane has landed or taken off. This causes lots of turbulence and sometimes I haven't been able to avoid crash. This is irritating after a 2 hours flight. I use MyTraffic X. Anyone else having this issue?Thanks in advance!
