The FLY General Discussion Forum
The General Discussion forum for the TRI series of FLY Simulators.
| Richard Harvey Lake Tahoe September, 2002 | This forum and all others related to the FLY series of flight simulator, are dedicated to the memory of Richard Harvey - the lead designer for Terminal Reality's Fly.
At the AVSIM FANCON of 2002, Richard and his wife, Tara, attended. Richard was presented with AVSIM's Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the flight simulation genre and his outstanding service and support of the FS community. Richard was a friend to many of us, and never hesitated to assist and inspire. Richard passed away the following March, 2003. He is sorely missed by his friends and those that were privileged to know him.
Richard in his last post to the forums said; "Try to stay away from things that are dark, dreary, introspective, tear jerkers, etc. Think HAPPY -- be HAPPY. If that is too much to ask, then I'll change the word HAPPY to POSITIVE. That's the flow of feeling I want rolling through my soul as I depart this earth from each of you, is absolute POSITIVE energy. Don't stall on me, I have to soar!"
Richard also passed this along to us in his last post; "******* Christ is my Lord and Savior. As my loving God and Lord has protected and guided me throughout my life, I pray he will do likewise for you and your family. May each of you achieve your dreams, and not be troubled by hardships. I pray for your good health. God will only give you as much load as you can bear, and never any more. Do not lose hope, nor certainly faith. Above all, do not fear evil, for though it surrounds us it can never hurt us. It may claim hollow victories, but it always suffers defeat."
We are proud to carry on Richard's undaunted support for his passion and his unstinting support of the user. Welcome to the Richard Harvey Memorial Fly Forums! |

So, here I is again with da same problem that I incured with the Beech D17 Staggerwing. I've downloaded the Beeech 1900D ver6 and upon switching aircraft I get the following error messageInvalid Guage Identifier (absw)File: cockmngr.cppLine 1506Now with the staggerwing there were some hidden .dlls that I found through your help, put them in the data folder and vois las the D17 Staggerwing worked great, but with the Beech 1900D ver6 there are no hidden .dlls in the unzipped folder and all the readme file says is that if you have the acdefaultfix.pod should be present in the aircraft folder as indicated belowInstallation:Simply replace the b1900.pod with the new B1900ver6.A…

Thanks for tips guys, I figured it out with your help, I changed the resoluiton on the fly startup menu and it works fine now and the overhead and center console are now centered. On the default aircaft you can use the mouse or shift/arrow to position the panel but you can't on the overhead or the center console on the Saab. By the way are there any more aircraft for downloading in the files section, I've been scouring through and haven't found to many others yet for FlyII other than the D17 Staggerwing, DC9 and the Saab340Thanks againAllan

Alex and Roger et al,I decided to continue with a new thread, as the original was getting a little out of hand. Here's the latest on my test with Alex's fix for the pressurization system of the Malibu:1. The aircraft will now pressurize properly, pressurizing at the selected rate and maintaing the selected cabin altitude once reached. Panel presurization bypass knob on the panel is in (default) - Dump switch on overhead set to pressurize (default).2. If the Dump switch is depressed, she instantly depressurizes - turn it back on and she repressurizes.3. Pulling the Pressure bypass knob when climbing has no effect - the cabin continues to pressurize. Pulling it when level a…

First off, many thanks to Randall and Ken for thier help in getting my Beech Staggerwing problem fixed, once I opened the hidden files and placed the .dll in the proper folder it works great, thank you again. Now I've downloaded the Saab340 beta2 aircraft and have the .pod file in the aircraft folder and the .dll files in the module folder, it works, but and here comes the but, when I go to the overhead panel, I can only get the left part of it and it wont move with the mouse so I can center it. Also the center console with the throttles won't budge either, I can use the throttles fine but using the mouse I'm not able to move the window. Could I be missing a .dll file, is …

I've noticed what I suspect is engine torque pulling this great PA-28 to the right constantly. I'm wondering if I've not set something correctly, b/c it seems like there is too much right tendancy, even when the engine is not at full power. I am learning to (really) fly in a PA-28, and I would love to increase the realism a bit more since I expect engine torque on takeoff, but not in cruise.-DK----David KohlFly! G'day Roger,Question if I might. Which video card are you using with the nVidia 45.23 drivers? I have a GeForce4 Ti 4200 128mb card, and when using Fly!2K, I cannot get an exterior view of the Learjet to show. Not sure if its the model or the video slots. Not sure if its my poor attempts on allocating video slots or not in the VCF file. Would you mind sharing your VCF values for comparison? Many thanks!!Also - have your feedback notes and getting them addressed as I can between work work and housework... ;-)Many Cheers!Ken Wood :-sun1http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/bannernewkw.jpgGateway 700X; Intel P4 2.4GHz; 512MB RAM; NVIDIA Ti4200 4X AGP 128MB; SB Audigy; Thrus…

HiI'm a newbie to avsim and the forums and after a couple of days of looking around and checking out the files section, I came across the Beech Staggerwing D17 download for FlyII and decided to add it to my aircraft. After downloading the zip file and unzipping I placed the .pod file in my aircraft folder and can see the aircraft on the the select aircraft menu, the problem I have is when I select the Beech the prompt tells me it's switching then the program shuts down and I get the following messageSubsystem is not registered (crT2)File: Subsystem.cppLine: 254The readme file says there is a .dll file that your supposed to unzip then place in the module folder, but no suc…

G'day guys,One small step for the guru's one giant leap for Roger. :-jumpyThanks to Giorgio and Steve and to all on the forum who have helped me come to grips with 3dsMax. It's been a long haul but finally at last I am beginning to feel that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Giorgio, by following your pictorial tutorial I have finally achieved success in texturing a primative in 3dsMax. Thank you for creating such a great simple to follow tutorial. Many thanksCheers,Roger @YSSY

I have recently flown the Hawker and whenever I get above 7,000 ft. I ge the alarm of "unsafe cabin pressure".The Dump Valve is closed. After departure I turn on the right and left Main Air Valve.I don't have this problem in the other aircraft. So what am I doing wrong?

does anyone know how one might be able to "write" letters on the taxiways graphics that are view with the vector map. For taxxing purposes, having letters indicating the names of all taxiways would be great for online flying. The new SB will be so great that this feature would make taxiing easy. tony
-
is that the letters written on them are unreadable. I don't know if it's resolution or simply a question of creating a much larger sign.Any ideas? I would like to have readable signs while taxiing.tony

Hi Guys,I'm back to the Fly! community after almost one year out. After Rich's death, I lost my interest with Flight Simulators and decided to give a break trying to dedicate more time with my band playing drums. Now I'm returning. I spent my last weekend installing almost EVERY addon developed for Fly! II and now everything is working VERY FINE in my computer (including my Brazilian Scenarios). I would like to know what I missed (aircrafts, addons, scenarios, etc.) in this time and where can I get them. It's nice to back home and see that some guys still are here. I'm very pleased to see that Fly! is still alive and have some future.BTW, I'm thinking to return and finish m…
