Richard Harvey

Lake Tahoe

September, 2002

This forum and all others related to the FLY series of flight simulator, are dedicated to the memory of Richard Harvey - the lead designer for Terminal Reality's Fly.

At the AVSIM FANCON of 2002, Richard and his wife, Tara, attended. Richard was presented with AVSIM's Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the flight simulation genre and his outstanding service and support of the FS community. Richard was a friend to many of us, and never hesitated to assist and inspire. Richard passed away the following March, 2003. He is sorely missed by his friends and those that were privileged to know him.

Richard in his last post to the forums said; "Try to stay away from things that are dark, dreary, introspective, tear jerkers, etc. Think HAPPY -- be HAPPY. If that is too much to ask, then I'll change the word HAPPY to POSITIVE. That's the flow of feeling I want rolling through my soul as I depart this earth from each of you, is absolute POSITIVE energy. Don't stall on me, I have to soar!"

Richard also passed this along to us in his last post; "******* Christ is my Lord and Savior. As my loving God and Lord has protected and guided me throughout my life, I pray he will do likewise for you and your family. May each of you achieve your dreams, and not be troubled by hardships. I pray for your good health. God will only give you as much load as you can bear, and never any more. Do not lose hope, nor certainly faith. Above all, do not fear evil, for though it surrounds us it can never hurt us. It may claim hollow victories, but it always suffers defeat."

We are proud to carry on Richard's undaunted support for his passion and his unstinting support of the user. Welcome to the Richard Harvey Memorial Fly Forums!

Hello.I have just uploaded the ICG Dauphin to the Avsim library. It has the long nose version acm file. But because of an early stageacm,it has some limitations regarding animated doors and steps in the outside view.Make sure you have the original Dauphin from F2FDesign.Enjoy.Janhttp://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/bannerjh.jpg

Fellow Fly!ers,Just wanted to let you know that we have uploaded the V1.00 Dauphin to the Avsim library; we have also uploaded the V1.10 incremental patch. Both will be under the "Fly! II - Aircraft" category. If you already downloaded Version 1.00 from www.f2fdesign.com, you just need to download the patch and simply place the POD file in the aircraft folder.Repainters will be glad to know that we have also uploaded the "White Tail" version and it will be under the "Fly! II - Development" category. We look forward to your creations!!!Enjoy! The F2FDesign Team

Hi folks,Today my son Michiel and I visited Schreiner. They are flying Dauphins for pilot-transport at sea.We came at the little heliport at the Maasvlakte near Rotterdam, situated near the sea, there where no fenches , we walked into the litle office and asked permission to have a look at the beautifull (3 months old ) Dauphin."No problem" was the friendly answer."you know where it is" Ohh yes we new , we could see it 25 meters away from us." You may do anything you want " "Can we go IN ?""Yes be our gast , don`t fly and keep it in one pice"In the meantime they drunk there coffee and had their sandwich.Their Dauphin was "ours" for more then an hour. Then they took off ,…

Hello Fly!ers.....I haven't posted on this forum for ages, but I hope someone around here can help me with this.I recently bought a new computer, and set it up as a dual boot system. On the XP side, I loaded Fly II. On the Win98SE side, I loaded up my old Fly2K, because I had TONS of custom TS scenery for my area that I just never had time to duplicate in FlyII.The problem? I can't get Fly2K to recognize the new VCF file I created for this video card. (GF FX-5200) It will not show up in the window for allowable video choices. I made an attempt to edit the Fly.ini file with the VCF name and DLL, but that didn't help. What am I forgetting???? It works in DX6 mode, but…

I picked up a copy of Il-2 Sturmovik--forgotten battles, which sells for only $14.00, and could not stop to admire the great special effects, such as engine smoke, real cockpit vibration, and so many other effects. But what cought my attention is the great improvements that flight sims have made in ground textur--without an fps penalty.Pick up a copy and enjoy the great planes, especially for landing and takeoffs.tony

In response to a post by Roland Herblot pertaining to the new Squawkbox I contacted Jim Ramos, the US Director at IVAO and received the following response:Hi Wayne,As far as I know, you could still use SB, but again, they can change that anytime. I don't think there will be a problem with FlyII. However, in the last few months, the developers have not improved on iVap and the head programmer left IVAO. So, we don't know where this whole thing hangs. I heard rumors that IVAO was going to re-do the whole thing, but those are only rumors.Regards,JimHopefully this will help those who are using IVAO. It is unfortunate that you could not receive help from IVAO during the develo…

  22. Greetings,I'm posting this message to let you simairline pilots know of a new and a fantastic network for online flying and atc called Flightproject ( FPI ). This new network is a great alternative for IVAO/Vatsim. Flightproject has a very simple and easy software pack, it consists For both the pilot and atc just 1 program. Compared to the annoyingly buggy squawkbox it really is revolutionary and easy! Service is great, organisation is great, there are many divisions to join and it provides the most userfriendly software and network available. For all pilots interested, browse to www.flightproject.net or http://divisions.flightproject.net/nl/ for the dutch division.Or look…
