I am looking for a program that can convert road signs, created and saved in BMP format. There is a web site where I can create road signs and save them in Windows BMP format, but I am looking for a program that will convert those into road signs I can place intoFlight Simulator. I am also adding future Interstate system freeways that have not been constructed yet, but will be in the future, and want to create the appropriate road signs for them and place them into Flight Simulator.

Is there a simple/easy way to create a flat planar object (like the ground background image or base for a large scene) that will automatically conform to the underlying altitude mesh/DEM, without the need to manually edit altitudes of individual vertices in the 3D model (which is a pain in the a** especially for very large areas which)?

I can't get BGLXML 1.8 to work with ANY of the BGLs in my FS9 folder, including ones that I just recently created using the FS2004 SDK BGLComp'er. Is there some basic "trick" I'm missing? The error message I keep getting is this one:BglXml version 1.7 / WIN32 - ©2003-2005 Alessandro G.AntoniniInput file: not a valid FS2004 facility data BGL!This is from the v1.8 download install.

I'll try to attach an image, but these are common hangers in FS9 as found at KMTN among others.I thought it was a generic building at first, but I don't think so now as I (A) can't find the right texture, and (:( the textures on the "sides" are not the same as the "front" and "back".I tried Library Object Viewer, but I can't seem to find it in the BGL files (Maybe I haven't looked at the right one, there are so many...)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181720.jpg

Hi thereI'm trying to create some custom landclass for FSX. However the programs I tested didnt correspond to what I want. Ez-landclass is not precise enough and I cant get work ground2k4 maybe I'm stupid.Is there a software which allows to draw classes with any level of detail and having a background image for a guide?Maybe it is possible to do just with standart sdk tools but I didnt find.. I've read "the beginners guide.." post and generally all I could find on the net but everything seems so obsolete..Thanks in advance

I thought I would ask this forum for some insight to a question. I have always thought that the appearance of the autogen trees makes them look much larger in scale than what they look like in real life. Therefore, within FSX, is there a way to make the Autogen trees appear smaller, and if so, how might something like this be accomplished? Thanks all.

Hi All.I've started texturing a terminal (KIAH) and I am having an issue and I think I have found the issue. It is a matter of scale when creating the UVW in the UNWRAP.Since the terminal is made up of 5 separate polygons, all 8meters in height, they vary in length and width. I want to use the same size windows on all of the textures on each polygon. When I create the UVW, I use the largest dimension to create a "cube". When I do that I use the largest dimension for each individual polygon.So, my scale is different for each UVW.My questions are:1. Should I use the largest dimension across all of the polygons to keep a consistent sized UVW?2. If I attach or weld the polygo…

Hi all, I am sure these questions have an answer somewhere in this forum but please indulge me if I ask again.I compile events for an online flying club and wish to add the odd object to make for more interest. Mmembers have to be able to download and install [obviously] Members use both FS9 and FSXSo is is best to compile in FS9 and convert for use in FSX or vice versa?OR compile for both seperately?Please recommend 1 or 2 freeware programmes that I could use.SIMPLICITY is the keyword here guys. Hey,Well, ive been buzzing away, and am right on schedule... I have run into a snag however, the .bgl files i was using are limited in space, so i need two of them, thats how detailed my AFCAD's are..... im not kidding....Anyways, below are some pictures, and what the package will include....-Realistic Gates-Gate Names on gates (still pending distribution approval, if worse comes to worse, i will revert to high quality default gates)-and gate names in AFCAD-Pushback tugs-modeled roadways for airport traffic (all traffic static, i decided static traffic over moving because of FPS usage....)-Baggage trucks-illuminating gate lights (not seen in photos)-Apron ground markings …

Hi, I wonder if someone can help: I have been editing ground textures and one of the tiles is displayed incorrectly as a green area (as in screenshot below) and I can't find out which texture it is. I have used LWMviewer to find out that the landclass designation is 94 (grass crop shrub); does anyone know which texture set is used in this classification?Anyone got an idea what the problem in the texture tile could be?Regards,Sascha

Are there here on this forum scenery builders who can make a scenery of the Boeing Field KBFI and Renton KRNT for FS9 and FSX.I ask this becours it seems that Simflyers has stoped with making scenery`s.Or perhaps somebody of Simflyers can let us know what is going on with the KBFI scenery they where making.Kind regards, Michel

I did a little acenery add-on for myself recently. I would like to publish it for everyone especially the BFU folks. Unfortunately I had to grab from more than one object library to get what I wanted. Here is my question. Is there a way to collect the objects I used into a separate library so that someone who downloaded my scenery would not need to also download/install any/all object libraries I used to create the scenery? Alternatively, is there a way to compile the objects themselves into the BGL file so no additional object libraries would be needed? I would, of course, include credit for the original designers of the objects I used in my readme file.Bill

Hi Fellas,It says right in the file library "For FS9 only", being the person that I am I thought, well maybe I can get it to work in FSX anyway because I have some knowledge of installing addon scenery. Well it did work, sort of, I added the LIRF folder in FSX Addon Scenery and within that were the appropriate scenery and texture folders with thier assorted .bgl's, afcad, landclass and .bmp's files which are shown here:http://library.avsim.net/zipdiver.php?DLID=59757Like I said it sort of worked except I can see 2 levels of tarmac, grass etc. From the outside view I panned the camera above the aircraft and the terrain changed from FSX default to the addon and vise versa…

I was just wandering if anyone knew how to get Lee Swordy's great AFCAD program to fully work in FSX. All I can currently get it to do is create airports, and I don't want to cough up dough for Flight1's new AFCAD for FSX.

Recently I was reviewing KSDF,Louisville, KY Standiford Intl (KSDF.zip here at Avsim)by Patrick Finch and noticed that this scenery requires the installation of his FS9Jets.zip. However, when you open up FS9Jetways, the only airports referenced are KIAH, KJAX, and KSTL.How can KSDF utilize jetways designed for different airports?Thanks,

Is there any easy way to make a Lat/Lon map of scenery objects from an BGL that has been converted to an XML file? All I want is an x/y type of display that will show the location of each object. I have edited an XML file and put the lat/lon data in Excel and made a plot but this is very tedious. I am hoping there is some simple way to do this. Thanks, regards, Bob.

I installed SP1 again today and finally got it to work, but now the "tools" tab (the one that has "Object Placement Tool" as an option) doesn't appear on the menu bar at the top of the screen. I have gotten it to show up before but now its gone! Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get it back? Thanks in advance!

I have spent the whole day trying several ways & applications to cut off some autogen trees that appears in the middle of a new airstrip I have being bulding as a begginer airp designer.I guess finally made some progress with ExcBuilder cause this one gave me a exclusion file in xml. the code inside reads something like this:<?xml version="1.0" ?> - I put this file inside my project and nothing happens till i found need the help of the famous BGLcompiler... my question is: When you drag the xml to the BGLcompiler where the BGL is suposed to go / end ? were I must look to find the bgl created? or I still missing something ?Is because when i drag the xml to BGLCom…

Hey all, I was fooling around with FSXKML to use Google Earth in flight simulator, and it just would not work for me with a small scenery project I was doing. I have this problem now below, and hope you can help me out here as to what happened. I have removed the file, it is no longer on my system. I just don't know what's going on here. I am a proud FSX owner and have considering getting into scenery design and so far I have only gotten as far as to use AFCAD 2.21 to build airports. At first, I was going to use the Object Placement Tool to place scenery at the airports, but when that didn't work, I downloaded SBuilderX to place scenery but I can't figure out how the coordinate system works as it differs largely from FSX's and AFCAD's coordinate sytem. For the Object Placement Tool I have the .dll set up just like the SDK says I should, but it never works. Any advice on any of these?
