Hi,I am new to use the FS2004 GMAX gamepack. Have troubles to let work lights made with the LIGHT_NAV_ command + material color. Even after tweaking the _0.asm file I cannot let work the lights. Even to handle the recompiling looks to me very weird.Need some step-by-step guidance how to do it right. Something is not working or I am missing an important thing.Please... or point me to a good tutorial or whatever to help me out of this mess. Without that I cannot work further on my scenery.Greetz. I am using Arnaud's ICLOOKUP.BGL specifically to take advantage of his 15% slope detection value. FSX has a feature that detects slopes on certain landclass textures (specified in ICLOOKUP.BGL). When the slope of a texture is more than this value trees, or other landclass, are inserted. For me the inserting of another landclass is not done well. Usually there are zig-zag patterns of the inserted patterns (usually trees). Thus farm fields show scattered trees in geometric blocks around the fields. The change by Arnaud helped but I want to try a more aggressive change. My question is, how do I de-compile ICLOOKUP.BGL? And, also any hint about what I will see if I can? I gue…

I'm going to cross-post this to the FS9 forum, but figured the experts here would have some good insights.When I start flight sim 2004 and try to place my aircraft at one of the airports where I have add-on scenery, the "loading scenery objects" window comes up, and then the computer seems to thrash for a very long time, with the hard disk chattering over and over in the same pattern. Eventually the scenery starts to load, and goes quickly, followed by the terrain, and then the thrashing will happen again for a shorter period while "loading air traffic control" is displayed.The problem is NOT consistent with any one scenery. Does anyone know if it is possible to adjust (decrease) the extent of the crash box around the scenery object in FS9? Right now, it seems that the Crash box around an object extends quite a bit farther out than the actual object, resulting in an apparent crash way before the aircraft actually physically touches the object. One way to fix this would be to apply "no crash" tag to the object and create a smaller version of the object inside of it. That smaller object's crash box would then be acting as the crash boundary for the larger object. But this seems awkward and wasteful...

Hey there,I was just wondering why there are gaping coverage holes in the NASA SRTM V2 water body database (SWBD). For example in Kenya, Africa an entire chunk of land seems to be missing in the coverage (e.g. e038s02s.zip ... e038s03s.zip)...I wouldn't have noticed, if Tileproxy hadn't turned the entire area into sea... So now I will have to account for missing SWBD tiles and default them to either land or sea, depending on position.So I will need some kind of map that tells me (at 1 degree of arc resolution) where there is supposed to be land and water on absence of NASA data. Im using a scenery (Swedflight's Landvetter (ESGG) v2). The scenery has excluded Autogen close (several hundred meters) to the airport so it feels really empty. I've been gmax-ing and texturing my a$$ off lately and while I won't say I'm getting this program figured out just yet, I did finally manage to get a multi material going on this house I've been working on. I've been working on texture #2 for the last couple days, which isn't looking too bad, but I was getting real tired of looking at the UVW unwrap outlines on the parts of my house that were (almost) mapped to .bmp #2. They say all work and no play makes "Jimmy" a dull boy, so I decided some quickie "North Idaho siding" might be in order for .bmp #2. Hey guysI designed some bush scenery in fs2002 and 2004 using ground2k and airport.. i believe. I would like to do this again. My goals are to use the underlying mesh scenery as a base for the grass runways so its not completely flat. I had great success with my last design.First question is what program should I use to remove the current airports/objects within the area im working. Its about a 3 x 3 mile area and in FSX and previous versions, they have 4 airports in this little space when in reality there are only two. 2. Once removing all the airports, will the mesh be correct or will those areas still be flat?3. Can I still use ground2k with FSX to change the fo…

Somewhat nervous about posting this - I'm a total newbie in the scenery area. Anyway, here goes, having discovered the delights of the object placement tool, I've had a jolly time adding stuff to a couple of airports. Have to say, I'm really delighted with the way this works and the effect of just simple additions. The downside to this is that I've noticed that at the two airports I've worked, all of the AI aircraft have gone missing. Of all the aircaft in the area, none at all are parked and I haven't seen any land or take off.Have I done something stupid in my enthusiasm?Bud

Hi, I'm attempting to work on a scenery project for Bradley Airport. The default airport needs a lot of work. I was wondering if there are design tools for FSX that allow for the "construction/manipulation" of scenery objects in FSX. I noticed a lot for FS9 at the top of the forum. Hi there.I think the FSX water is way too bright and too saturated.I noticed this when blending photo scenery water into FSX default water using DXT3 water blend masks. This is a new feature for Tileproxy. Often the photoreal water is a dark blue shade (almost black), but most of the default water offered by FSX is medium to light blue.I am now wondering a bit where I would have to start modifying the default colors for various water classes - or if it is even possible to create new water classes using much darker colors.Any help or input would be appreciated much.Christian

I've modified a large apron with Afcad, but now when I taxi across it there are "hard and soft" spots. Taxi is smooth in one area, but as you move across the apron the plane starts bouncing around and the tires begin to kick up dirt, etc. I'm sure this has to do with a default hard surface area defined in some default .bgl that doesn't match the size and shape of my new apron, and I'd like to modify the area to encompass my entire apron, eliminating the "soft spots". Can this be done with XML compiled to .bgl with bglcomp somehow, or is it a scasm thing? Also, which of the default .bgls is it that contains these surface areas? This is FS9 BTW, and I'm working on an ai…

Hi all:I have made a scenery for a small aerodrome near my city, LEMR (Oviedo, Spain). I must add some terrain for a taxiway and an apron that doesn't fit in the default trip. I have made the AFD with AFX, and I have used SBuilderX to make the exclude (airport boundaries, autogen and flatten, three polygons in one final BGL file).My problem occurs ONLY the first time I start FSX after initialition of my computer. Then, I can't see the new apron and taxiway when I am over the ground or near the ground. Hi all,I'm finalising the development of a freeware scenery pack for FS9. Since I have some previous experience with INNO Setup (Jordan Russel's freeware installer-maker), I've decided to use it to compile my scenery into a solid installer which is expected to add a few entries into the Scenery.CFG file as well. But... I don't know how to implement this in practice using INNO's scripting capabilities. HiI am new here, made some scenery design with FS2002.Now I downloaded AFX Airport Facilitaor for FS X from Flight One.Works perfect with FS X and I am modifying some Swiss Airports.Additionally I want to put:1. On the taxyways near the gates a indicateor (gate number) on the ground for the online-pilots to see when they have to turn to the indicated gate.2. Animated docking simbol on the buildings near the jetways.This two items i can not do with AFX. With which additional program can I do this and where can I get the objects?Thanks for helping.Peter

Hi:As I'm a bit rusty with things, I'm having a slight problem. Maybe someone here can help? I'm trying to export a light to FS, but the light isn't showing up. I possibly am doing something wrong. For starters, I've edited the .asm code. When I export, I get the .xml and .mdl files, along with the .asm files. As I said, I've edited the .asm. I run the .asm file through BGLC9, and I get the .bgl file. I also run the .xml file through BGLCOMP, and get the BGL from that as well (if I'm thinking correctly, is the placement file). Anyway, to make a long story short, the light isn't showing up. What's the correct way to export? Am I missing something? Thanks!Allan

Well after much trial and error I've finally created a gmax object, given it a platform, and placed it in Fs. Problem is, when I land on the object, my aircraft moves very slowly, like it's stuck. Any ideas to why?
