Well, maybe not my first, but the first one I consider a success anyway. For about 2 yrs now I've had Gmax installed, every once in a while I fire it up and try once again to make it actually do something useful. Never had much luck until I happened to stumble across Bill Womack's gmax texturing video tutorial here last night while searching this forum. Thanks Bill, that's what I needed.Anyway, here it is. I remember around fs98(I know a long time ago) there was a way to create static aircraft from using a mdl to bgl program I was just wondering if it was posible in todays flightsim world I thought it would be nice to add some static aircraft that look like aircraftI've used rnwy 12 program but the statics just don't look as good a lot of the freeware aircraft today thanks

Well the scenery design is going well for my Richland County Wi Project, but I am probably doing everything the wrong and hardest way possible!!I want to place a very small pond approximently 100 ft by 100 ft in a valley. Is there any simple way of doing this. I currently am using Rwy12 and EZlandclass for most of my editing. I started to learn Ground2k but decided to ask here first. Thanks for any adviceRoy

I'm trying to find runway configuration/navaid/frequencies data for airports in the Eastern and Central U.S. from 1960 to 1965, a period of dramatic airport change and development in the early years of jet transports.Is my best bet "Flight Guide?" I believe it began publication in 1960. The problem is finding one from that period that doesn't contain revisions in the binder that are from much later.Old sectional charts would be of some use, too. But, they provide next to no detail on the airports themselves.Any recommendations/suggestions would be appreciated.Dennis

Hi first post -I am getting back into Flight Simulator and don't have the horsepower yet for FSX. I have FS2004 FS Genesis Mesh 38m, Ultimate Terrain and BEV. Significant improvement especially with UT, having tons of roads added and in the right place just makes everything much better. I want to improve the scenery in Richland County Wiscosin USA starting with the airport 93c and moving out in about a 10 mile area eventually. I understand the Airport stuff and have used RWY12 to placed some new buildings. My real concern is the landclass. In FS the area is nothing but trees and grass with a whole lot of trees. Please email me at the email address below.I'm working on Atlantic City IAP from a military perspective (Air Force and Coast Guard) although the airline terminal came out OK. It is almost complete.I've completed Willow Grove JRB and Elizabeth City Coast Guard Air Station.I know my texturing is not good. Hi folksIm having a problem with Imagine Simulations KDEN and KCVG. I cant stop aircraft from landing on RWY 25 KDEN. And KCVG, i cant stop aircraft from landing on RWY 36C. Landing aircraft only for 36R and 36L.I checked my AFCAD, changed folder, but still they land where it says no landing. I checked for other AFCADs, even the for example AP925180.bgl, but they still land. Im using Ultimate Traffic.Is this a scenery bgl thats doing this? and not a AFCAD file?thanks

Anyone know why TANK01 (default MS scenery) disappears at night? They are still there, they are just see though. If you get really close, and there's a little sun left, you can *juuuuuust* see a ring that is their base.Slew inside of them and un-slew and you get popped back outside of the ring, so they are there - just invisnable....

I've made quite a few custom buildings using GMAX for use in FS2002 (they so far also work fine in FS2004). For night-time I've simply use a darkened version of the daytime texture, with windows filled in with colour to represent lights on, etc. Works fine for windows, but is pretty boring for external lights, streetlights, etc.I've tried to use GMAX to add lights - but so far they have NEVER shown up in FS2002 after the BGL compile process. My basic question therefore is this: Can you add things like spotlight/streetlights in GMAX and get them to appear in FS? How?

i have many scenery geotiff files and i keep getting an error when compiling the inf file.it goes through either 1630 or 1931 cells and then it says memory "allocation failure error the application will now exit"my inf file is attachedWhat I want to do, is make photo scenery for Seattle.is their a limit to the file size of the bgl fileof the inf filea limit to the number of sources?or what is the problemthe errror message overlayed on the command prompt window is attached as well.any help would be sincerely appreciated. the program i am using to download the images is global mapper.

I've hunted all over this site and the net in general... I've made my own airport and I want a refueling station on it. I've added the visual object, but that's not enough apparently as I still can't refuel.What am I missing?I used AFCAD for the airport and ObPlacerXML to add a tower, radar, ILS shed, NDB shack, and pumps for fuel (same model as the ones at PMDY) This is of course FS9/FS2004...

Using Easy Ojb. Designer and FSScenery Creator I can import API macros into fs9 and they do fine. However I'm having a heck of a time creating like a little sign that says "restaurant" or a billboard. Can someone tell me how to design simple macros such as signs that can be imported into fs9? What is the best route to take as there is some freeware and also share. I just want to create and place some signs on buildings and strucures. My new Paint Shop Pro won't seem to get it to 8-bit so EOD will use it, etc, etc. If not one thing, then another. So, what is simplest way to create your ownsigns and billboards and import as macro into fs9? Thanks.

I followed Luis' tutorial but can't seem to get the tool to show up in the menu. I make sure the "Disabled" tag is set to false and double checked that it was in the correct location within the dll.xml file but still no joy.Does it matter that FSX is not on my "c:" drive?Thanks in advance.

Hi all!This is my first post in this forum and I'm really looking forward to start with scenery design myself. The first thing I'd like to do is to make a new set of water textures for FSX. To start off I need to know the location and file names of the current water texture set, which I couldn't dig up. They don't seem to have the same name as in FS9. Some interesting results when creating photo-real ground textures. The source image has areas painted pure white as a Null Value. I have done quite a bit of scenery design, mostly in the South Pacific Islands and Hawaii, and recently installed FSX. I find most of my scenery working in FSX, but I have also changed to a new computer with Windows Vista, and notice some textures missing from certain objects, and the overhangs of buildings no longer have texture under the eaves, also none of my night LM textures are showing up. What is going on here? It looks like I'm back to scratch on all my scenery, especially since it is all in my old computer.

Hi all!I'm form Italy and I'd like create an Italy region in photoreal for FSX.I've some questions: I found an ortophoto image about region (Piedmont) but resolution is about 1 mt/pixel; image is GeoTiff. With FWTools I dowload a small part of the image, but size is very big!There is a possibility with SDK Resample tool to reduce pixel definiton of this image (about 2,5 mt/pixel), or how can I reduced image Gb size?If I dowmload entire image (some Gb !) how can I divided it in a small images without lost GeoTIFF coordinates?Another, I think to use SbuilderX for photoscenery creation: is it a good idea ??Thanks!Max
