Hi, I have Harald Krause's Kden Scenery dia2k4v1.zip for fs2004 and am wondering if anyone know what to do to fix this problem, There are taxiway signs all over the airport, this is great but when you start to taxi to 34L there are none, and Runway 34R is just labeled 34, is there any way I can fix this? Is there another scenery I could use that would have these signs? I have seen Gary Widup's scenery but did not want to use it because the gate selection in "go to airport" or "airport selection" is kind of messed up, Is there a way to fix Gary's? I am also using megacity denver, I own Imaginesim but don't like to use it because of the framerates and the freeze whenever yo…

Is there a way to add apron spot-light to an airport scenery without using GMAX code and such?

This has probably been asked countless number of times, but I have been searching/reading for along time both on this forum and others, without finding an answer.I'm trying to make some FSX scenerey objects in GMAX for use in FSX sp2.When I try to use the object in FSX, it will only show textures if they are saved as extended BMPs, for instance in DX1 format, not DDS files. I have tried many combinations of the settings in the exporter window, never seen a change, though. I'm using the image tool from the SDK to do the conversion. Any texture type except the standard extended bitmaps in BMP format will render the objects as black with no texture. I thought I was supposed…

I use both EZ Scenery and Instant Scenery to place objects in my personal scenery. I have FS9.My problem is with a default barn. I have a screen shot attached. The fence on the back side of the barn is all gobbledy gooked up. I don't know what happened.According to the Instant Scenery program, the file is called ag_barn_3 and located in scenery/generic/scenery and has a tag following it that says;f214ae09-5de8-4ab1-bc22-5a3a210c7b75Any help for me to get this texture to be the way it's supposed to be would be appreciated.Attached picture below...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/185108.jpg

Hi,I try to build a basic LFKL scenery for fsX.I use fsxplanner and it work (I see runway, taximay and parking)but I have a problem with the autogen that put trees to close from the runway.I tried to use a exclusion zone in fsxplanner but seems I always have the treesI tried to create 2 xml (one for the new objects and one for trees exclusion) but same resultHere is what I have http://milliotseb.free.fr/fsX/LFKL_Seb_fsX.zipCould someone could look at it and help to solve the trees problem

Hi all,I have got along fine with SBX and have enjoyed using it.However I wish to be able to do the same in FS9.I have installed Sbuilder [latest version] with no problems.However I just don't know where to start.Like how do I get a background image similar to SBX?I have read loads of stuff until my head is spinning, there is just so much.I really need to use SB for flattening, excluding autogen and adding land class textures.Would some kind soul please help or at least point me to an easy to read and understand tutorial.RegardsRichard.

I'm attaching an image. Using ILS&GPS Approach Creator as a starting point,I've managed to add way points and connect them making transitions for an approach.All is well and good, but... The one I outline on the diagram. THe first version is what I have (Actually it's a little off, as the path goes from west to east and makes a "jug handle" north of the waypoint.)The short leg to the north at the top of the diagram is the one that connects to the runway.I'd like to make it so that you go DUE EAST and then make a turn to intercept the waypoint, that would put you pretty much in line for the runway.As is stands it can be flown, but it makes for a 2G turn @ 140knts to…

This is what I did. I built a Street light using the primitives. Cylinder, Cone and box. Grouped them together to look like a decent street light.I then added another object to it. A Light of type OMNI and placed it like I would a bulb. (I took all the GMAX default values). I then exported it to MDL and then placed it the object in my scenery. The street light looks good during day time but there is no light...even when I changed to the time to Night/Summer. Nothing.. Nada.. All I see is the street light like its bulb is not working.What am I doing wrong? Is the GMAX OMNI Light the way to do lights for FSX or is there another way that is specific to FSX?Manny

Hi all!!I'm making an small city with an aerodrome with Google Earth and FSX KML.I'm having no problems at all.But when i see my wotk in FSX i notice that my road and railways don't match with FSX default scenery.I' try to explain a little more: where my roads/railways finish is not where start roads/railways of FSX. Usually there is a difference of some miles. I asume because there is a difference between GE and FSX default scenery.What could you recommend me to do to make a better transition between both?I hope you could help me in this issue. I have now decided to divest myself of FS9 and move solely to FSX. I want to port over some of the good FS9 addon airports, where this can be done. Several I have found look very good in FSX where the various textures are compatible. As an example, with the Freez Zurich I have managed to exclude the FSX default airport buildings with an XML exclude file, except for the default control tower. (I also want to convert the ISD Milan Airport, which appears to have similar issues

I have a 3gb photo scenery. It is mostly desert however there are some areas with vegetation beside streams or in small settlements. I want to located the area to be "treed" and then use Annotator to place the trees. The problem is that I see no way to find a specific location in Annotator. There is no SimConnect nor can I find a way to enter LAT/LON. I could spend hours scanning for a specific area in Annotator without a way to get reasonably close. Hi all,I've got regular approaches down pat, and am trying now to encode the RNAV (RNP) RWY 13R at Boeing Field (KBFI) using the data in the procedure_graphic.pdf and "WA_BFI_RNAV(RNP)-Z_RWY13R_ORIG-A_REPLACEMENT.pdf" found at http://avn.faa.gov/folderdetail.asp?key=20...1-BFI&replace=1 . Right now I'm not worrying about putting transitions in until I get the final approach portion to work (from JAMRO onward). As it's coded below, the approach currently goes from 6 miles from COMMB on a heading of 130, then a right turn direct RWY 13R at BFI. I did include all of the waypoints below in the compiled BGL.I've tried swapping EXAXE with ORABE, putting the circumference…

I am trying improve the beam on top of the Luxor in Las Vegas. I have successfully made it taller. About 3 times as high as it was, it is now about 32,000 feet give or take. I am thinking of making it about 40,000 feetNow what I want to do is make it viewable form further away. The problem is it seems as if it is linked to the Luxor because If the Luxor is not in view the beam disappears. Like if I am just trying to view the beam (looking up) and the Luxor goes below the screen the beam disappears. This creates another problem when I fly out of vegas the buildings disappears as I get far away as does the beam. I want the beam to be visible from around 100 miles away.Any h…

Hi,I thought Whisplacer would display trees in a correct way in FSX as in FSX SP2. It seems that the trees only in FSX are shown fine but still have black planes in FSX SP2.Is that right ? What can I do ?Thanks. Jos

I am not sure if this is the right forum for this question, however, I will give it a shot. I have been using Scenery Shortcut by Abacus Publishing to place objects in FSX. After installing Service Pack 2, Scenery Shortcut no longer works. Abacus wrote that the installation of the service pack de-activated the object_placement.dll. They suggested moving the .dll to the FSX folder itself and changing the path for the .dll. That did not work and neither did completely removing and re-installing SDK and Scenery Shortcut. If I run regsvr32, it says it can not locate the .dll, however the .dll is in several places. I tried renaming the .dll and changing the xml file to…

Any open source libraries available that read and write FS 2004 AGN files? I am trying to add some Autogen to Tileproxy in the coming months based on some automated feature detection.I am however a bit reluctant to write a parser or writer for AGN files from scratch. Even then I would need file format documentation. Hi there,Would anyone know if its possible to inject vector road definitions into Flight Simulator X during run time? I was thinking to pull OpenStreetMap data during flight, extract the major roads and generate vector BGLs on the fly. But then, the BGLs are part of the "scenery library" which isn't really refreshed that often by FSX. The only way I could think of injecting this at run time is to have "dummy BGLs" shipping with Tileproxy, containing essentially no vector data at all, and these then get populated during flight, as TP collects scenery. The big question is whether FSX keeps these files locked (non writeable) during flight, which would prevent any updates.C…

OK.. I built a house in GMAX.I have two house bit maps..one for day and 1 for night.I am following the FS9 SDK Tutorial. But where it says "click on the "show map in viewport button, (at this point the house will look pretty weird because it has no UVW mapping yet".But I do not see the texture applied to the house. When I click on the "show map" all I see the the default ambient color that is being applied to the house. Not the map texture.When I had to select a material, I did not select "standard". Hello all,The problem I am having is quite simple. After tweaking my new card and getting my FPS just right I have but one more issue with the result. The sky has lines running through it. Almost like the colors will not blend but rather fade in stripes to a darker shade of blue (or yellow if the sun is setting). I hope I have described my problem in enough detail for you guys. I have just installed FS9 onto a new hard drive. Afterwards, all the Autogen was placed differently compared to the previous installation. Then (owing to my own stupidity) I had to uninstall and install again. Again, the Autogen was different.Can anyone tell me at what level this autogen placement takes place, and where the information is stored? Is it possible to re-start the process without a new install, to port the information from one install to another, or to edit the placement? I've had a look at the autogen SDK, but it begins by assuming more knowledge than I've got!

Probably a dumb question, but......I have some waypoints ready to insert into an airport I modified with AFCAD. Do I have to edit the original AP9xxxxx.bgl file to place the waypoints, or can I edit the BGL file for the modified airport?
