    Hi all,I wonder if it is possible to add sound to scenery without having to use the payware programs. Cannot find anything on the subject in the SDK.(E.g. the sound of water after landing on a lake or the sound of waves on an aircraft carrier while waiting for an AI aircraft to land).Thanks in advance for some info.Roby

Hi,This is more a scenery tweaking question than a design one but I guess I'm posting in the right forum...I have a Freeware airport scenery which came as part of a larger package and I've been trying to isolate it (only for my own use of course) to gain better performance etc. I'm nearly there but it seems that the ground under the airport is not properly "hardened" and at two points when taxiways cross canals, the plane falls in! (actually, this also happened before I started trying to isolate stuff)I've tried adding an apron layer to the AFCAD file but that has no effect.     I have just started dabbling in scenery design for FSX. I have a couple of questions:-1) Is there a way to change the ground levels around airports?. My local airport (EGNM) has a severe drop off the end of runway 14 into the Horizon VFR scenery (I use their mesh too). I want to be able to eliminate the 'cliff' and smooth out to a more gentle hill.     Hi again, I created some scenery of my local airfield for FSX using the OPT. I was forced into a re-install of FSX and the SDK (both SP2) and unfortunately I backed up all relevent files from the SDK except the original XML file for the scenery. I am now trying to remove a couple of objects from the scenery, and have used newBGLanalyse and BGL2xml to create a new file, but when I load it into the OPT, I get no names or GUID's for the objects. When I used bgl2xml and loaded the OPT, the object handles appeared and I could delete the objects, but when I recompiled the BGL, everything was gone. With newbglanalyze, the handles won't appear, but everything recompiles fine …

    Hi all,I've modified one of the generic landclass textures -bare desert number 002- and want to use it only in my local scenery.Using SBuilderX, I've compiled a cvx-type bgl and put it into Addon SceneryScenery folder. Also put into Addon SceneryTexture folder the complete set of 002 modified textures (ie 002b2su1,..su2,..hw1, etc), and indeed my region is within B boundaries.The problem is, on textured polys (not landclass tiles) I still see the original bare desert texture instead of the modified version existent in the local texture folder.Is there a need for another bgl to correct this, or maybe it is not possible to achieve?Thank youTom

    This is driving me nuts, can somebody please go to KSQL and check if they can see the taxiway signs in "standard" FSX?Mine have disappeared (but only at KSQL) !!!I was modifying the airport and suddenly discovered that I could not see the taxiway signs, assuming that I had screwed up somewhere I removed all my extra scenery moved the files out and restarted - still no signs...They are all there in AFX (even my modified ones in the AFX preview).Geoff

    Hello all fellow pilotsHere in Montreal we have an important stretch of highway which spans over about 4 miles, the Decarie Highway. This is particular in the sense that it is below level land. Basically they dug right down and put it below. It is not covered (tunnel) Decarie blvd which runs parallel to it on both sides (like a service road) is on ground level. Going from one side to the other, the overpasses stay flat as the highway is below ground level. I would like to do this. How would I go about doing it (FSX or FS9) Do I need to modify the mesh? or a poly? Please help as this would open doors to all those intersections who go below ground rather than having an over…

    Hi, Im having a problem with my photscenery for fsx created with sbuilderx, for some reason as i fly the photoscenery is being replaced with default textures as I fly. When I bring the texture resolution slider all the way to the left the problem stops, but obviously the textures are blurry, and default autogen still shows up. Its almost like the sim isnt recognising the scenery as photoscenery. What can I do?

    Im trying to follow the photreal terrain tutorial from flightsim world.com, but I cant find the file bigjpeg.exe from the cox site or anywhere else on the net, does anyone know where i can get it? And I am also using usaphotomaps, which is a great tool but is there any way to set it to use a source other than ms terra server because ms terraserver is mostly in black and white. It would be great if It would use yahoo maps, since they have very good sat map coverage in the arera I am doing. If not can I just use the yahoo maps browser and somehow get it in the right format to make it into photoscenery.

    I've been working on a fictitious airport for some time now. The airport is located on one of the smaller Azores Islands in the Atlantic Ocean. It has one 3,200x60 meter runway facing north, one 2,500x50 meter runway facing northwest, and two 1,100x30 meter runways each parallel to one of the bigger ones. I don't have a snapshot to put here, but I think you can help me easy.That's it: I used Sbuilder205 to import BGL data from FS, and separated only the material inside the respective LOD8, as explained in Sbuilder help. So I have the utility lines on layer 4. I've created a VTP2 Poly to represent a small neighborhood on the city scenery, then i've chosen a suburban texture for it, and put it on layer 4.     Im using sbuilder rto create photoscenery, is there any way to create a water mask for photoscenery? Im new to scenery design, so if sbuilder is the wrong tool for the job is there some kind of tutorial explaning how to do it?     One thing that has always annoyed me about the Autogen Annotator is that it required some initial mouse clicks to load the Autogen definitions XML file first. The same holds true for loading the scenery ground tile to be edited.I would like to integrate that tool tool with Tileproxy, such that the Annotator is brought up for the tile that the aircraft is over. But if the user has to reload the Autogen definitions file and the tile for every single edit, it becomes a bit tedious.Isn't there any switch (command line or registry) to automatically load the definitions file and the tile to load?     Hello all! I really need someone to help me delete default scenery in FS9. I have heavy AI traffic at 100% and really hate default scenery for JFK, LHR, CDG, AMS, MIA, SEA, DEN, DFW, ORD, LAS, LAX, SFO, EWR, IAH, BOS. I was wondering if someone can create a file that would remove/exclude those sceneries including buildings, taxisigns, etc. I want the field to be completely blank, so I can create a new AFCAD with lots of parking.
