    I hope this is the correct forum for this problem.I have used the AFCAD program to add some NEW airstrips into FS9. I updated the FS Nav database and I can now use their IACOs to plan my flights. The airports show up in the "Map View", and I can use them to make a flight plan with the FS9 flight planner. There is one problem that I have not been able to fix. The FS9 Garmin GPS 500 gauge does not draw the small circle, that represents these airports. It prints their IDs on the gauge's screen, it shows the distance and etc., and it draws the magenta colored line that connects point A to point B, and the autopilot will use the info to fly the aircraft.Does anyone know how to…

Hi - Just wondering if anyone has compiled an "English-language" reference to the default textures include in FSX (or 2004 for that matter) ?The tiles with bitmapped roads are really bugging me but I can't seem to find them.   5. I have the bmp, tif and the inf file done. But I do not have a project.How can I manually compile (either making a project in SBuilder or outside SBuilder X) but without downloading and recreating the bmp since I have trouble re downloading the photo textures.Thanks for any help.Manny

    Hi all,I like to add both ILS for runway,and the airport is stock airport file in FS Scenery,after i finished afcad i saved it in FS Scenery folder as AP977xxx.BGL for covering the old file,it lookswell.but,when i reopen the airport i found only one ILS there,so i added one ILS again for both ILS and saved it.reopening,the airport still has only one ILS which is added just now.this is what happen to me and confused me i have changed the different ident for ILS.anyone can help me?regardskane

  8. We have had a number of reports that ADE does not show all buildings. There is a bug associated with this that has just come to light. It means that ADE may not pick up all the buildings and objects at an airport with runways more or less N-S. This has now been fixed and will be part of the next release. A work around in 1.26 is to temporarily set the heading of the main airport runway to 090 and run Load Stock Data again. All buildings etc on the airport should now be picked up. Then just return the main runway to the correct heading.

    I'm making a new scenery for an Alaskan island. The summer default textures show this island densely covered in pine trees. In fact there's barely a shrub on the real world, windswept island. I suppose I could go over it bit by bit and make exclude rectangles (ExcBuilder) but it would be very laborious. Is there an easy way to create a more barren landscape which retains seasonal changes? I suspect not but am hoping.... :-hmmm

    Hi,In SBuilderX I want to modify terrain and have notices that when I load the background image, it is slightly offset. For example, if I set a building at the corner of two intersecting roads, it is not positionned at the corner but in the middle of the intersection. Is there a way of calculating the background offset to re-align the background exactly?Thanks!Marc P

    I'm new to Rwy12 although familiar with SBuilder. I'm using Rwy12 to place three objects using the 'Add' button to group these (as per the tutorial). I save the .xml file before generating a .bgl. My problem is that the scenery contains only the last object in the group, not all three. I guess I could create separate .bgl files for each object but that can't be right! BTW, I'm running FS9. Any help would be appreciated.John

    I have found some information on this topic in bits and pieces and have learned that a water mask is just a 'cut out' so that FS water texture can show through and that creating a water mask involves the use of a graphics editor and the saving of the mask information to the source image's alpha channel.I'm using satellite imagery that's been converted to .tga images. I assume it's this image that the water mask must be added to?I'm using GIMP for the graphic processing, but haven't been able to figure out how to add the water mask to the alpha channel. FS9, I've been playing with Maps2Bgl, downloaded a bunch of google tiles, did the water mask for some of the shorelines and all in all it looks really great except for these stupid cliffs where so many of the default shorelines used to be. I've tried temporarily removing some of the default shoreline .bgls for the affected area but apparently I haven't hit on the correct file yet. I'm posting this in this forum rather than the general one as it seems a scenery design problem.I installed a scenery from AVSIM for FYWH (FYWH.zip !) but it causes BSoDs every time I load a flight there. After hours of troubleshooting this, it seems that ANY exclude file in the scenery folder causes this. I have removed the exc bgls that came with the scenery, and the airport then loads OK. But that means I am left with two towers, trees on the apron and so on, so I tried my own exc files with ExcBuilder. Each one I made causes a BSoD. So does adding an exclude line in the scenery.cfg.I tried disabling all my 3rd. part add-on scenery, apart from FYWH: still get BSoD. Whe…

    The default LOD level is Auto.What value should I have such that it maintains the crispness of the area that I want to comile the longest (meaning, I want the airport area) to remain crisp for a larger radius than what Auto does.Currently, the texture loses its resolution real quick when I Leave the area like 3000 feet and when I return, it refreshes. The scenery bgl is quite small area (The airport) and I want this are to be clear from a larger radius.Any ideas?ThanksManny

    Hi all. I was wondering if someone can guide me in the right direction. I need to find the highest spot elevations within a prescribed area. I know google earth has somethign where i can place my mouse and it will tell me the elevation where my cursor is BUT i would like to drag a box for example of say 10km by 10km and have it tell the the highest spot elevation within that area. I have been experimenting with Gunnar Daehling's scenery utility, maps2bgl, and while I am generally pleased with the visual results, I'm finding that sometimes the textures seem to load more slowly in some areas than others. Is there a relationship between the size of an area created and the amount of time it takes for the textures to load?; i.e., will it take a scenery area of 200 square miles longer to load textures along the route of flight than an area of 100 square miles? The complexity of the textures I'm sure also is a factor. Point being, if there is a performance gain to be had by segmenting the scenery areas into smaller slices I would take the time to do so. B…

  21. Hi, folksI got started using 3dsmax with Panda Exporter to create objects for FS2004. The objects created with GMAX looks ok, but when I create the same objects (using the same procedures) in 3dsmax, they appear facing upwards (front face up). E.g.     I've spent a couple of weeks doing my local airport. I've got everything built from scratch and hand textured. It is time to do the photo background texture in order to finish this up. I have made a big jpeg of the airport using google earth. The problem is that I want the image to follow the outline of the airport perimeter. All of the programs I have found seem to just do square areas. The perimeter is not square. How do I get the satellite texture to be in an irregular shape(not square) to match the perimeter of the airport? Also, what is the easiest program to do this with?I am using FS2004, not FSX.     Hi All,I am using Sbuilder.I Used AB_FLATTEN_EXLUDE_AUTOGEN tag to make my airport flat and the airport is near the edges of a cliff (see the pictures).the problem is when I am near the aiport everything looks ok but when I am starting to fly away from the airport water start to rise over the cliff.I have not idea what is the problem and how to solve it.anyone please???Thanks
