I have successfully created a couple of nice sceneries using maps2bgl_X.However, today I used the program again to download tiles, worked very well, and then when I clicked create BMP and batch - it flew through a number of tiles, shown visually where the globe normally is. However, at some point I got an out of memory error?I ran the same kml file a couple of times, after doing some cleaning of the system - still got it. I then used Alacrity PC to shut off most programs and services, and had almost 2.7 GB of RAM available - the BMP and batch hung again - I checked Task Manager - CPUs were about 25%, and memory used was under a GB - is there a setting that I can adjust …

Hi!This may a silly question, but can anyone tell me what the "noticeable" difference is using "high quality mode" when getting tiles.does it mean that lower to the ground the resoulution is way better, and is it worth it?Thanks!!!!!

I am working on an Edwards AFB add-on. One of the things I would like to do is add AI flights between KEDW and Beale and Travis AFB. The problem is Beale and Travis AFB don't show up in the TTools airports listings. I figured I could manually add it to the airports.txt file, but I am having problems with the airport coordinates. In ADE the longitude and latitude are shown as decimal and in the txt file as degrees, minutes, and seconds. I found a way of converting back and forth between the two, but when I do it with airports that are already in the list the numbers are close but not dead on. I believe the number following the long and lat is the airfield alt. Thanks for y…

Hi im using FSX and Maps2bgl_XJust wondering if someone can tell me what im doing wrong.I select a polygon as required, save it as a .kml file, "download the tiles", Add it to the FSX scenery library.However!!!!1 when i load up the location, i just get white tiles as texture. It appears as though no textures were actually downloaded!.could it be something with the way i have my scenery library set up?Any help would be much apprectiated:)Thanks!

Hi all!Is it possible to give SBuilderX's flatten polys concrete/asphalt attributes using some coding of the xml file. To my knowledge a flatten poly has, by default, earth/gravel/grass attributes. By this I mean that if one taxis an a/c over a flatten poly, the ride is somewhat bumpy and dust/gravel shows at the wheel level as shown in the joined image, which actualy is a flatten poly.Thanks for your suggestions,Hugo

I am trying to edit KEDW (Edwards AFB)adding parking spots and AI traffic for FSX. The air field has many runways and a lot of them are dirt in the dry lake bed. Here's the problem, all of the dirt runways are shown as closed for take off and landings, but the ground control keeps wants to taxi you to a dirt runway for take off. Aside from the fact I don't want to use dirt runways, because they are closed you and the AI traffic can't get permission to advance past the hold short point. Any ideas how to fix it?

Using SBuilderX XP/SP3I want to cut a "hole" through photo scenery to have landable FSX water in a lake. In SBuilderX I create two polygons. A large one with a smaller one inside it. The right-click properties for the small polygon and see the "hole" option. It then asks me to click on the parent polygon. That opens a hole in the parent polygon but has no effect on the underlying photo scenery.From what I have read there is a some process that allows a hole to be cut through photo scenery to expose the underlying landclass but this does not seem to be it???Regards,Dick BoleyA PC, an LCD, speakers, CH yoke

Is there a way to make a smooth curved base turn from the outbound course to the inbound without adding many waypoints? I have tried all sorts such as trying to include a portion of arc in the transition legs but it wont accept it. I will post a pic later of what I mean as the image storage site is out for maintenance.Thanks

Often, the generic buildings placed at FSX airports are floating in the air. While the the buildings can be added, deleted and moved with ADE, elevations cannot be changed as with library objects. Hi all,I wanted to revive an older topic, namely, how to add sound to a scenery.I have posted this question on fsdeveloper but the outcome is negative as far as FS9 goes.So, is there someone who did succeed in placing self made wav.sound effects into his scenery? If so, how did he do this without having to recurr to the commercial sound enhancement programs?Reason I post this is that I have a nice carrier scenery but as soon as the planes have left the flightdeck, it is awfully silent. I don't know what I have done is correct or not. With Ground2k4 I design custom ground texture by creating "New VTP2 polygons", defining "Other texture" and circling each area one by one, then generate BGL file.It looks not too bad in Sim.Questions are Resolution: FS9's maximum ground texture resolution is 4.8M/p, then how can I make high-res ground texture? I tried to use 512x512 and 1024x1024 bitmap in same area (source map high enough), but seemed no difference in Sim. What is "other technique"? Do I have to use GMax or something? Area: Tired about "one by one", cause the whole field is about 250sq.km, and there is a limitation of Ground2k4, 127 polys top. So I tried t…

HiI am creating a virtual Royal Navy for FS9 and FSX to releace as freeware. The bulk of the ships have already have been created in FSDS 3.5, all major warship classes are included (post ww2), all have animated radars ect, and as i am a current serving member of the Royal Navy, the ship modles are ultra realistic as i have access to information not available in the public domain. Another Forum member has very kindly given me some assistance where i can find information on how to make the ships move as AI traffic, but within the SDK, i cannot find anything specific in how to make the flight decks that go with the ships, move with the ships, (such as the Aircraft carriers …

I am doing a project and would like to verify some of the airport information with actual data. I am finding some parameters hard to find, such as: tower lat/long, fuel type availability, runway heading, runway width, and altitude of object for ILS. I would also like a diagram of the airport layout including taxiways to compare layouts. The airports I'm looking at are Toronto Pearson International Airport, Toronto/City Center Airport, and Toronto Downsview Airport. Does anyone know where I can find this data? Or does anyone know of any good airport data reference sites?

Hi, let me start by saying that i have zero experience doing any scenery design for flight sim. The reason i'm looking for some help is that there's a few things about me home airport that i'd love to change to make it more true to life and hoped i may find some help here. The airport in question is Edinburgh EGPH. i have the brilliant UK2000 xtreme scenery for EGPH installed which is almost perfect in it's recreation, although theres a couple of things on the airport boundary that i would like to add.First thing, is at the very end of runway 06, sitting just outside the boundary of the airfield, a trainline crosses the path of the runway. I guess I'm not alone with my problem, so I think helpful hints would be beneficial for others too:Over time, at least my "scenery" (I use this word for all the files and mechanisms that in the end visualize a virtual world in FS) becomes corrupt for unknown reasons.The symptoms then are double coastlines, straight land borders, missing shores, rectangular objects in water, terrain partially covered by semi-transparent water bodies, buildings in the water etc. etc.These problems follow me since I can remember, they pop up at some place any time and sometimes are the reason for unexpected CTDs.The root cause, at least what I suppose, are either missing or too many scenery …
