    I have a problem with scenery objects disappearing after I reload FSX. This is for some San Diego scenery I am doing. The cars disappear after reloading FSX. (not sure about reseting the flight) Once I reload the scenery with Instant Scenery they come back until the next time I load FSX. They are FSX:Acceleration objects. Anyone know why they would do this? I noticed that, as I am making small adjustments in the landclass coverage, the changes are not reflected in the "earth" image, when you zoom out drastically and the Earth globe becomes apparent. It seems that the globe is covered with texture that is derived from landclass info (not the satellite imagery is was the case in FS9) because that coverage varies with seasons... however, modifying landclass does NOT alter the "far-away" landscape. Any idea where this coverage is located and what needs to be done to modify it so that the landclass change is also visible on it?

    Well I have decided to learn Gmax. The currently available KPFN by John B. Loney, Jr. is great, but is not exact. I plan on building custom models in Gmax and making mine as accurate as possible. The current airport has about 2 or 3 more years before it is replaced, and I really want a way to remember this airport as it is now. I have already built the SheltAir building in Gmax, but now I have no idea how to get textures on the object. I have actual photos of the building, and want to use them to skin the model. If that is not possible, I can create them in MSPaint. Also once I figure this out (hopefully with help from here!) how do get it into FS for placement with Inst…

    Since PAI was reorganized, and their forums lost all the old information, where is a good place now to go to find information on modifying, designing AFCAD's, and info on learning the "STAR" runway config, and AFCAD's in general. I have the ability to resize, add, delete parking spots, taxiways, etc, but want to learn the deeper science behind these.Thanks!Rick

    I am beyond myself. I just spent two hours trying to replace the grass textures in Austrian Airports and could not get it to work. Something so simple, and I can't get it.The default grass texture is way too green and does not blend into the surroundings. Anything I do with the two textures, causes the sim to CTD.I opened the texture in DXTBMP and converted to BMP.I edited the texture in Photoshop CS2. I saved the file as a BMP (16 bit) and then tried to import.CTDThen I converted it to an Extended BMP with DXTBMP in every format it supports, each time, CTD.Can someone help me?     Hi all.Here's a handy program to get the containing boundries of a lat-long location. It will return the LOD5 -> LOD9 boundries.     Hello, I hope i am in the right place to ask for help so here goes, I have 13 Oil Rigs in FS2004 in the Cook Inlet Alaska,they were made by a team called Munchbros back in 2004, i have tried to contact them but no luck via web site /email etc, what i would like to know is how can i if possible relocate these rigs to other places in Alaska in the sim , the rigs in Cook Inlet have been placed fictitious so its not like they are there for real, Any help would be appreciated, Thanks,

    I've been testing AI behaviour at PAAQ in FS9 with a default Dash 8. The only published IFR approach at PAAQ is a GPS (A) approach to Rwy 34. I set visibility to 2 nm, wind 330/8. I ran FS9 for approx 15 minutes before the approach was scheduled to begin. The plane approached the initial approach fix (IAF) (I think CF008) on a southerly heading at around 5000 ft. The FP was 5000 ft for a 50 nm flight. According to the approach plate the altitude at this point should have been 2500 ft, so it was far too high. (I know that AI planes do not follow the published data too well). The plane then made a curved approach to what I think was the final approach fix (FAF) at ZUYEB but…

    Hi In FS2004, if you made a change in the scenery library and added a piece of scenery(in a separate folder -not in the default ADDON SCENERY folder), it showed up as a new entry in the scenery.cfg file.I have just added a mesh addon to FSx - using the scenery library. It works OK - but I can't find a change to the scenery.cfg file. Is FSx different to FS2004 in the way it registers addon sceneries?Thanks Barry

    Hello,Has anyone had time to tinker with FSX shaders? I have looked at them, and while syntax is new to me, logic seems fairly simple. I've tried to adjust a few things - namely, deepen the terrain shadows (we're porting our lunar scenery package to FSX and the shadows, for some reason, are a lot lighter in FSX as compared to FS9 - we need them deep and dark for lunar scenery). I tried changing a few values in what seemed appropriate terrain shader files, but with no apparent change in the scenery.Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Misho
