I'm using Architect 2002 and a FSSDK generated sat photo landscape. Everything is fine except that the taxiways in my airport are bumpy (aircraft hop around) and sections of the taxiways are getting hidden by the textured landscape. What's strange is that I have 0 elevation so it isn't a terrain mesh problem. I've tried some of the code snipits found here on the forum but I'm not sure I'm doing it right or that the code isn't applicable to my problem. Anyway any help/hints would be appreciated.

Hello,I used to have BGLs I downloaded few monthes ago that fix the time diference between countries in FS when we switch airport. I cant seem to find the related BGLs released as freeware for FS2000 I think and that used to make the time difference between continents true to life including day saving. So can anybody please tell me where I can find them?ThanksMichel

Guys and galsI've been really impressed by the Mosher brothers have modelled their Halifax and Moncton airports, using GMAX to replace the buildings, but retaining the FS2k2 default aprons, taxiways and runways. How do you do that - cos I've never got exlude areas or polygons to work. I'm using FS Architect.Rob

I was wondering what makes the reflection of the landing lights possible to see on the tarmac - light or special code for tarmac polygon? I know already from the experimentation that landing light and reflection used in connection with other object but the plane, goes on and off depending on the altitude and distance of the observer. Hi George.I've reposted my TMF calculator with the corrections:You are right, the LOD13x is 0-7 and LOD13xx is 0-3, with LOD13y is 0-31. ( Those terms correspond to Christian Stock's subrow, subsubrow, and subcolumn ). 0, 0, 0 = the northwest corner of the LOD8 group area. The numbering of the LOD13 points is 0-255 X 0-255, as we suspected.I'm going to experiment with the calculations for the decal polygons, as I'm not sure of my math... it's a point in a 8192 X 8192 LOD8 grid, offset by 4056 in the "X" value and 4072 in the "Y" value( I think ). Christian said it was offset by 4080, and ranged from 4080 to 12240 ( for 8160 points each way ) ? So either he's right, I'm rig…

Hi allI have recently started to try to learn coding Scasm by hand, by trial and error!!!!I am baffled by the Texpoly command!I understand that the bitmap offset co ordinates are linked to the points co ordinates, this was a break through, but it is the effect on the bitmap with the offset cordinates, I don't understand, esspecially when the numbers exceed the size of the bitmap. A larger size, say 800x800 seems to reduce the resolution of the bitmap, which in some intances looks better. Even when I get a result I like, I still don't understand how, even though I know how I got their!!! TexPoly( m 0 32766 0 -100 1 bx by ; 1The 'm' stands for Man…

Hi everyoneMyself and Pascal Bierque of FSMillennium have been corresponding about the lack of custom made, third party scenery add-ons for Flight Simulator 2002 anywhere east of Istanbul and west of Singapore! He and I agree that the Middle East is currently enjoying a booming and evolving civil aviation market. The fact airlines such as Emirates and Qatar Airways can order A380s, and building $bn new airports, is testament to that.Unfortunately, for reasons unknown to me, this area has not made a big impact on the current version of Flight Simulator, certainly from the scenery standpoint. So this is an appeal to anyone who ever wanted to experience the heady scents of an …

  14. Has someone already tried if it is possible to use the new taxiline coomands with another color then yellow? I also need to draw red and white markings on my airport and it would be nice if that could also be done with the new commands. But I have not yet found an option/command to change the color.Arno Member Netherlands 2000 Scenery Team[a href=http://home.wanadoo.nl/arno.gerretsen]http://home.wanadoo.nl/arno.gerretsen/banner.jpg[/a]

Some time ago (6 mo?), I thought I read an exchange of info between Bob Bernstein and leatzaw about the use of very high resolution ground textures in the vicinity of airports. (can't find msgs now)Since it is an axiom for FS2002 that 4.8m/pixel is the highest resolution that can used for photoreal ground textures, I am wondering whether Bob or Paul can revisit for us whether there is "any" way around this limitation..

I'm looking for someone to build it and I'll pay the time that took to do it. To the moderators I'm sorry if this is inappropriate. Marc Andres, CEO Aeria Airwayshttp://aeriaair.cjb.net

A lot of requests come here to replace default items in FS2002, like the Empire State Building and the Golden Gate Bridge. These things aren't hard to model in gMax, or even to place correctly, but the default scenery won't "go away".Am I right in assuming that these landmark items aren't autogen but some bgl file? And would it also be correct to assume (given the number of items in a large city) that the bgl file is not just for, say, the Empire State Building, but for many key buildings in NYC. So that replacing just the one building would be an almost impossible task unless:1) You could figure out what file represented what and2) You could read in the bgl file someh…

Hi all, I was mumbling to a friend about the lack of a scenery SDK for fs2k2 and why it is taking so long to bring out. He knows a little about scenery making and pointed me to the ms page with all the other SDK's. "There is a gMax scenery SDK" there, he says!!! It has a basic tutorial for making an object and placing it, plus the ImageTool and MakeMdl programs. Can this possibly be the Scenery SDK???? with nothing further to come????? I hope not. :-) Does anyone have a guess as to what a useful scenery SDK would have in it?Thanks in advance,Rob

http://avsim.com/flightdeck/images/Radar_small.gifBeta tester for htt…

Hi folks.I recently visited a town in the Appalachian mountains that really struck me with its beauty and quaintness. (in case you're curious, it's Cumberland, Maryland). Since there's an airport nearby that was fun to fly into, I thought perhaps I'd try to locate some satellite photos of the area, convert them into textures, and replace the generic town textures currently there.Could someone point me towards some resources that might get me started in learning what would be required to realize this project? Thanks for any advice.--Tony

Hello,I just have downloaded Thierry Pignot's fantastic mesh for Sicily. The terrain elevation is very accurate, and it is possible to recognise every relief landmark. Wow!Pilotage in Sicily however remains somewhat difficult, even with Thierry's stupendous relief, as in reality, terrain recogniton relies on the association of relief landmarks (mountains, valleys) with man-made landmarks (roads, villages and towns, etc.). And, in the standard FS2002 Sicily scenery as well in Thierry's scenery, man-made landmarks, except for roads, are completely absent: no towns or villages. In FS2002, Sicily, which counts more than 5 million inhabitants, seems a desert. So my questions: i…

HiFinally I got the ground tectures to work. I put some autogen on it and it works .. but how to exlcude the defualt airport underneath??I just placedd the new ground textures over the exitisng default FS2002 airport, so the runways and buildings are still visible. I placed and eclude switch in the scenery.cfg, but that also excludes my autogen scenery I just made.Is there any way to eclude the "old" standard FS2002 airport and place something new onnit INCLUDING working autogen??It must be working, MS did the same with the Oshkosh scenery.thanks & regards :-)Mario
