I received an API macro for a hangar with my Waco from Golden Eagles. I would like to use this macro to insert my hangar at other airports. I'm not interested in other aspects of scenery design at this moment. Is there a good tutorial with simple instructions so that I can accomplish this? I downloaded Airport 2.6 but their tutorial didn't cover using API's much.

I already posted it there but I thing the first results I got deserve a thread of their own.This applies only to gmax users. It's a comparison and as such "it takes two":Here's the two scenarios :1. Created a sphere in gmax with a radius of 30m, 48 segments and 1106 vertices resulting in 2208 faces.Created an array of 27 identical spheres in a 3x9 grid and 300 m apart.Exported to FS.2. Hi all, as a newcomer to this forum, although not to scenery design.I wish to Edit the roads and rivers in Fs2002, or even exclude and add my own. I have Read alot of post's, last 6 pages, which advocate the exclude option.I have tried this in Airport 2.6 and Arch2002 and these have failed, surely I must be doing something silly!!!!I have ASD 1.2 and can edit roads and rivers in FS2000 (F5406331.BGL)but am unable to locate any bgl file in FS2002 that does this, I suspect Asd is unable to interpret some of the Fs2002 bgl's, may be I am wrong.May be the Fs2000 file recompiled, and used in my scenery might put the cat amongst the pigeons.You all seem very friendly in the fo…

Hi, guys. First time in here...For objects I normally use FSDS Pro to make api macros, and for scenery design I use Airport. After I've read some of your comments here, I see that not a few have recommended to switch to gmax for object design.Well, today I installed ver 1.10, the help and tutorials, went through four or five tutorials, and all I can say is WOW!! That program is fantastic. It makes FSDS look so tiny. I'm already liking it too much and considering to switch altogether to it, but I have one major doubt about it: the inability to produce api macros. I'm new to the whole scenery thing so be nice. Ok I live in El Paso, Tx and the airport here is getting one of its runways extended by 1,000 ft and what I want to do is edit the runway in FS2k2 to extend it those 1k ft. Hi again.I noticed the need for a comprehensive list of all bgl files with their geographic coverage and contents.I had this built for my use, but since people ask for it I just activated it in fsregen. It will create a comma delimited text file with results that look like this :5* 41.8834, 21* 46.5005, -79* 51.6667, -59* 44.6167, CARIBVOR.BGL, ,,,,,VOR,,,,,,,c:bingamesFS2002SCENEDBWesthemcaribSceneryCARIBVOR.BGLImport it in excel or access or anywhere else you want and get an overview of what's where.Take careGeorge

Hi!I've built a scenery to put an airport in FS2002 where i live, cause it doesn't exist in reality!by the way i also added some AI traffic and of course ATC!until now it all worked very well!as i wanted to add some new gates to parking area,i've modified the airport again with AFCAD!then i lose the ATC and of course AI Traffic!i only changed positions of the runway,taxyways and parking area!no changes made to tower frequencie,or airport name,or navaids!so what appends?

Landclass Assistant 1.2 allows automatic update of the landclass.inf file. That's the good news. The bad news--on some international systems, Windows is configured to use a comman in place of a period to represent decimals. So 50.5 degrees longitude is actually written to landclass.inf as 50,5Microsoft's resample tool chokes on this, creating a bgl, but sending the scenery off into "la la land". The fix: After updating landclass.inf, open it up in Notepad and change the comma in all the lat/lon entries back to a period...I ha…

I'm trying to put together a database of all the airports and runways in FS2002. I need the AFD data in text form so I can run the data through filters. A filter that I might run could be a list of all airports that have a runway long enough for a B767-300ER, paved surface, ILS approach, ATIS or AWOS.Anyone know how to do it?

Friends Hi again.The latest FsRegen will let you create hard surfaces (platforms you can land onto).As the manual is well behind the current version, here's the way to do it.Create a horizontal polygon with 4,5 or 6 sides. (Create more if you want, just give every one a different material below) Don't forget to convert it to editable mesh.Give it a "special" material (check the manual for this one).Export.Select the asm file and open it in the main FsRegen window. I've done some thinking over the last days and want to announce my (at least partial) resignation from MSFS scenery design.The reason is that I came to realise just how much time I have spent to make FS2K2 work my way, and how many countless hours are pontentially just wasted down the drain due to the lack of support from Microsoft. Hi again.I have two walls drawn and each of them is a separate object. Is there any way I can make them ONE object so that I can draw two more walls using their vertices and complete a building? I tried several things in the 'compound object' area but none worked.Another thing: when I was following the MS Gmax tutorial, I noticed that when I drew a box and typed different values for height, the box grew "forward" , not "up". I have been using gMax for quite some time now and successfully exported several models using MakeMDL and using the FSregen+middleman combination. I have published a complicated gMax-made bridge. Now, after a harddisk problem i had to reinstall everything (including Win XP, MSFS and gMax). After the reinstallation gMax just doesn't export anymore. It does not export my previous models, not even a simple box. The error message is the ususal about makemdl not being on the path, but that is not the case. It is there and I have tried several locations on the path for it. None works. I have tried all makemdl versions from the original to the sdk one. I have tried the FSregen+m…

Hi again.I managed to get some nice 3d models for important buildings in my city, but they are in VRML 2.0 format. Now I am looking after a way to import them into GMAX. I heard some modeling tools can open them, but the only one I have is GMAX. I even tried a freeware 3d converter called Crossroads3D, but it only seems to accept 1.0 files. Does someone know of any other utility to convert it, or can anyone with 3DStudio open them for me and save them in .3DS?Thanks.Rafa

OK Arno, and the rest of you experts... I have just a few questions regarding Airport 2.60.1. How do you get the taxiway centerline lights (green) to stop flashing whenever you are moving? I tried a suggestion I saw on your site, Arno, but using a higher layer for the lights (above the taxiway) did not seem to work.2. How do you get a nice looking 90 degree turn on a taxiway so the centerline curves around the bend instead of meeting at a right angle at the center of the intersection?3. With FS2002, prof ed, also Gmax was provided. Upon installation, I was notified to register. Upon registration, I was told that I needed a newer version. This rather big file was available for download. After downloading this version 1.1 from the website of Discreet the program works and looks quite complicated. The tutorial, which was provided by Microsoft, was a big help. At least I was able to build the totorial house. Unfortuately the downloaded version does not provide the option to export the file to a BGL-file. For this purpose I need the gamepack (which is available in the Fsim 2002 version of Gmax). Are corresponding markers automatically excluded when you exclude an ILS?I mean, when the markers lie OUTSIDE the "exclude square", but the ILS and runway lie INSIDE the "exclude square".In other words, when you want to exclude a runway+ILS+markers, does the "exclude square" have to include the markers?? Or including the runway and ILS is enough?Thanks
