    Hi everyone. I looking for some advice and/or an opinion. I would like to enhance my home airport. I just want to adjust the taxiways and add some buildings. What is the easiest, cheapest way of doing it. I have Airport 2.6 and Airport & Scenery Designer, however I find them somewhat difficult to use. I don't know if it just me or the crappy "help" files that come with them. Anyway, I would appreciate and feedback you would like to give. Thanks.

    How can one create a transparent texture for glass such as the control tower windscreen or aircraft canopy? andCould one mix this texture with other textures on a plate of 512x512?I am using 'Paintshop pro v7' and 'gmax' for my scenery creation.Is there a tutorial or some kind of documentation?Your answers and help will be appreciated immensly.

    HiDoes anybody knows if it possible to change the textures inside a bitmap without having to unwrap again the material for the affected(s) file(s)?This will be nice because sometimes during developing stages I change the layouts to reduce the number of BMP.ThanksJos

    A lot of industrial buildings and airport hangars need a front and back polygon that is 5 sided because the roof has a peak. . * * * * *In order to apply a rectangular bitmap texture to this building front, do you need to make the top left and top right part of the texture any 100% transparent color, so that the visible color part of the texture takes the 5 sided shape of the bulding?How does one produce a texture with some parts of it partially, and some parts of it,fully transparent?

    is it possible to create photo scenery for fs2002 standard...I amworking it several ways with no luck...is it necessary to havethe MS Image Tool utility or is their a substitute...I am stuck...I have most of the freeware design programs but not sure if they all work with 2k2...Ive created many default sceneries but this has gotme interested...please nudge me in the right direction to get me going..If its not possible in 2k2 how about CFS2?thanks

    I recently found jetways at the San Fransisco airport (without adding scenery), and now jetways start popping up at different locations. Now I can find jetways at KSFO, KLAX, and KORD. How can I get jetways at all the other airports (American, at least)Thanks!

    have you resolved disappearing taxiway signs problem , if so how ?I wonder cause I have a similar issue, I have created some ship models and some of them disappear when I get closer to them, say 1-2 miles, whereas they look OK from up to 10 miles.weird because I did not have this problem in the previous sceneries I created...best wishesbiber

    I fly out of KWBW (Wilkes-Barre Pa). The texures are in need of adjustment and I was wondering just how to do it. I know it has something to do with resampling the bgl file, but which one.Is there a code to the BGL files the tell the lat and long?How can you tell which bit maps to modify or is it more involved?Anyone with fs2002, that goes to KWBW, will see (instead of a levee near the river) a 20 ft. wall of water.Any suggestions?Phil

    Hi,I just got the update to GMAX 1.1 and the latest MakeMDL. I have been using the version that came with FS2002 and am quite happy with the results for my local airfield. I was hoping that some of the strange messages would have gone away:"units are not meters" - they are, and the lamposts are the right height!"can't find MakeMDL" - Oh yes you can, just keep trying.- but never mind (I think these messages come from Microsoft, not GMAX)I also have now read (for the first time - oops!) the MakeMDL SDK from Microsoft, which under the heading "Material Names" states:"BRIGHT_ The material is bright (emits light)"Has anybody made this work for scenery? Whenever there is a design problem I can count on Arno, George, and Dan Martin to answer, a couple of other people (Ihor and some others) also, and that makes me feel like I'm part of a community. Wenever there's been a design problem that I can answer I post right away.together we've made amazing possibilities in design possible.     Hi friends.A bit more for you :You can now create trully unique GUIDs and increment them from FsRegen. Get a new ID once for the first object of a library and increment it. If you use IDs that are far apart (numerically) you delay FS.Also :Color picker for the mast color added to the Windsock properties dialogue.Compile button added to main screen.By clicking on the version label the default Internet browser is used to check the latest version.(for your convenience: www.nhreas.com/fsregen.html)All the bestGeorge

    I've been trying to fathom how the Autogen Annotator tool program functions by following the tutorial with respect to the add-on Niagara Falls scenery from MS.And in that vein, I was able to alter the footprints for a new *.agn file and it also made a difference to the way that particular texture appeared in FS. That is to say, apparently I was successful. So far so good!Now for the reason for this message: so what???? How can I apply this procedure to other parts of FS using other textures?     Hi people !After a month's absence I finally found the time to come back on line, and also upload the latest FsRegen.It will now let you save the list of objects you create in library compiler. I think it's decent now, cause you can just add objects to running projects.You can also compile to bgl by clicking a button. Just make sure you put BGLC and ALL the include files (*.inc) that come with FsRegen into your working folder.I had a quick browse and saw a discussion about Middleman. I'm sorry to say that just for library work you do not need it anymore. Out of respect to Chris (anyone offering free stuff deserves it), I will not take it out of the documentation. Plus if…

    So... is there a way to do this?I've seen some night textures modified - but - I suppose that even white dims quite a bit as it goes into the distance. I'm wondering if there is a way to tell MS not to dim the night texture value for white, or even better, an alpha for a ground texture bitmap, so much.Any thoughts?Andrew

    That is one thing I love about using the Avsim search function. Having almost given up hope of being able to add those beautiful MS default orange windsocks to a heap of airports, I thought I would check to see if anyone had been able to do it yet. After ten minutes searching, I found a couple of threads stating that people here had done it with the Effects SDK.I have to say, I would never have even bothered myself to look in the Effects SDK, but there you go. Not only that, but I will be able to add about 400 of these things much more quickly than I could have with any scenery program no matter how good.
