Hi all I am woundering how to increse the draw distance of my taxiwaysign textures that I've modeled in gmax since I can't get at the .bgls properly. The objects draw fine it's just that the textures"disapear" far to soon and while ok during the day the above problemsucks at night(I.E. far more obvious). So in other words as a short term fix is there some setting I do not know about?. Sorry but the new "make mdl sdk" if one can call it that is no help.http://members.rogers.com/klasik2/danlogo.gifhttp://members.rogers.com/eelvish/flyurl.gif

OK, here's the deal. I'm making scenery for KRDU. I go to the default scenery and see that the elevation for the airport and surrounding is 438.7 feet. In Airport (newest release), I add 2 runways (for testing) and add exclude areas and a flatten area. The flatten area I put at 438.4 (0.3 below the default) and when I compile and go into FS the scenery is mostly at 442.1 or .2 feet. There is only a little area that is at the 438 level I want it at. Could someone please tell me what is going on. I'm totally new to this so any help would be appreciated.

I seem to have lost the above Navaids from Liverpool Airport, I have added a third party scenery (EGGP 2002 by Danny Rowlands) who tells me there are no navaids in his scenery they are all in the original. The only other thing I have altered that I know of is the agtes etc with AFCAD, that I believe does not alter the navaids in the scenery only in the map view. Can any one help/advise on where to look for these missing navaids?I wondered whether an exclusion file for the 3rd party scenery might delete them? (Clutching at straws!)

I fly in the northern hemisphere, Iceland. I would be interested in knowing if it is possible to change the night textures for this part of the world. At this time of year the sky is not black as it is in FS2002 but the scenery should be visible. Can this be altered or do we have to live with this. Other sims render this completely different and more natural.

  5. Dear Friends, the Dolomiti scenery for MSFS2002 is getting ready. In the meanwhile, give a look to a new set of snapshots (the airport and night effects) along with some more general information at the urlhttp://alpha.science.unitn.it/~oss/msfs2k2/dolomiti.html

Is anybody else having problems getting taxiways to show up in FS2002 in airport 2.6 scenery (build 146, anyway)?Everything I've done, it is simply not compiling the taxiways or something. My runway shows up fine. Don't know about anything else, because I'm waiting for this problem to be solved before going any further......As far as I can tell, there's nothing wrong. Can anyone help? If anyone wants to give me their email address, I'll be happy to send the .apt file....

I'm new to this so bear with me...I'm working on KRDU and can't seem to get the Flatten area to work correctly. From what I think I've learned when you draw a flatten area around an airport or wherever and then type in an elevation, that whole area becomes that elevation. Is this not correct? I have a flatten area around the airport (RDU) just for testing puposes. I only have two runways and a taxiway. anyways, there are different elevations all over the space which i supposedly had Flattened. Can anyone help? Thanks

Im workintg on airport W92 I entered the lat/lon in a decimal conversion program I found on the web. It says however that it will not display a negative value. So for the following lat/lon wich if any of the decimal equivalant would have a minus signs. I am VERY new to scenery design, and I have created an object I want to place in FS2k2. I have placed it without a problem. But I want to share it. In order to share it I need to make it into an .API macro. How do I do that in GMAX?Is it possible?

Do they start after 1000ft down the runway I.E. sayon a 6200ft runway would the first sign be 5 for 5000ft remaining orwould the first sign be 6 just 200 ft after the threshold? I just gata know LOL. http://members.rogers.com/klasik2/danlogo.gifhttp://members.rogers.com/eelvish/flyurl.gif

Is it possible to edit runway light at specific airports to make them more/less visible. In my case I have a big problem up here in Iceland were runway/taxiway lights are hardly visible and that makes moving around on ground at nights nearly impossible. I have seen this done in FLY2 with outstanding results and feel like improving this for my area up here, simply so I can fly at night!

I love flying in and out of hilton head, but the detail sucks. FS2002 did not place one thing on the entire island, just a landing strip. Please point me in the right direction. Thanks,Matt

I came across a couple of trees-only autogen files in the cities folder. Associating one of these agn files with my custom forest areas produced somewhat pleasing results. Out of a 2300+ custom texture area, I used 900+ agn files. Though the trees do not recognize the roads, things don't look too bad while we wait for the SDK. Also, I avoided associating the agn file with any texture tile containing water.Rickhttp://cc.ysu.edu/~rick/agn1.jpghttp://cc.ysu.edu/~rick/agn2.jpghttp://cc.ysu.edu/~rick/agn3.jpg

Hi folks,I'm trying to use the TaxiMarkings command in "the new SCASM", but not having any luck. Which is probably just because I'm a bit of a SCASM newbie...How am I supposed to use that command? What do I need to put around it; layer calls, MoveTo's, or something? Do I need to use the BREAK opcode at the end of each line? And what, exactly is "f" in the SCASM documentation??? As in: " SS f f " ? Is it a point, a pair of points, the color of my left and right eye, or something else entirely? I am, as you can see, pretty lost right now...Maybe some friendly soul could even provide a little sample code snippet using that command?Any help would be Much appreciated :)Best,…

I really need your help.Does anyone know how to manipulate the distance from the plane when the BGL(airport or some objects) is loaded into FS2002 memory. The default distance in FS is around 15 miles and I couldn't change it with RANGE parameter in SCASM file which I created and then converted into BGL file. All objects are displayed correctly but I would like to change the distance when the file is loaded into memory. I know how to change V1 and V2 settings and they work perfectly, but range value setting doesn't seem to have any effect.Thank you all for your help,Urban

can someone with more knowledge than I create a very basic terminal for KMEM. I need to place more gates around the terminal and the existing one isn't large enough. I have a 'pic' of what the terminal should look like. http://www.buckeyediscus.com/fs2002/airports/memphis.gifnothing fancy... mind you... I just would like a basic terminal with specs that match the pic. as a guide for size... each 'gate' should be 46 meters in diameter... making the distance from gate A9 to A33 approx 600 meters in length.thanks in advance :)-j
