    I am French, so I often fly over France. I fly with FSMeteo which provides real-time weather. Sometimes when I fly around Paris, some clouds appear and then the frame rate goes down to 1 FPS or less. If I clear all weather, it works fine again at 20-30 FPS. This problem only occurs in the Paris area.Do you have any clue?Config: FS2002 Pro, no additional scenery, no texture modified.Thanks for any info !!

    ...the extent of my knowledge of doing scenery is that I create taxiway signs for Taxiwaysigns.com.I have an runway I need to modify, and I'm using FSSC. It's worked OK sofar, except for certain things.A runway at KSGF was lengthened by 2400 feet (this would be rwy 14/32, and I was the guy yesterday asking how to add ILS to this rwy since it was just commissioned, and got the answer to that..thanks!!).Using FSCC I just created some background images the way that we are taught at taxiwaysigns.com to do it, and just overlaid the extended rwy on top of the current one.     I've had a look at previous threads and can't find answeres to these questions so I hope they aren't FAQs.1. Let's say I've created a library of GMAX objects which I've then placed using Airport. If I notie that one of them doesn't look right or needs something adding and go back to GMAX to make that change, is it possible in Fsregen to go and update just that one library object - or do I need to create a new library and bring in every object whether it's been changed or not.2. GMAX objects show up in Fsregen as having a scale of 0.5. Now I've noticed that,I have no problem in selecting the same scale in Airport when I'm bringing in one of these "pseudo" APIs. I'm just cu…

    Hello, I have heard this forum has a wealth of information on scenery design, and lots of bright, intelligent people to answer questions! My questions is... How do you apply textures to the ground like in the UK2000 Scenery where Gary has painted textures and applied them to the ground, how do you apply them to the ground? How many can you have?     Hello guys/gals. I'am trying to exclude some buildings from my home airport CYXU and I'am not having any luck. I can add new objects, but not exclude. What types of objects/items can be excluded. If you look at CYXU there are some buildings north north westish of the main terminal, they are default buildings ( of course ), can they be removed. I've tried Airport, GroundMaker and even editing the Scenery config with no luck. I have everything back to original state, except the skyline I put downtown, and await any help/replies you folks can offer.     The tower screenshot explains the problem. The tower inside was also created so that one would see the interior. However one sees through the polygon to the ground. If you enter into the tower (pass beyond the glass then there is no problem) all polygons are as they meant to be.This happened only to the tower, although I have other transparent areas but no problems?Could someone please ????Letats

    In my current scenery project (CREST IV) i created a hangar way above ground and it would be nice to have the hangar floor as a landable surface.Can anyone point me into a direction how i could do this ? Would it be enough to assign a ground type (like concrete, asphalt) to the polies that make up the floor ?RegardsDoc

    I plan to develop a terrain following radar gauge. I can easily get the ground altitude below the aircraft, but I need to get the ground altitude in front of the aircraft (0.5 or 1 NM ahead).I am not a scenery expert, but if anyone knows how I can get this information from the scenery, I'd be glad to know...Thanks !!

    hi all I have been working on converting a macro in to a library object, with limited sucess!!!!The macro is only visable when viewed from a certain angle in spot view and when the viewing angle is increased or decreased beyond(Appx 180' in view).Also as approaching the object, fairly close, it disappears. Their are other examples of the object(Pylon) which just dont show at times and do on other occasions.My first thought is 'V1 and V2' variables, not sure? Although V2= 0, I have tried V2= 200, without sucess.I have had similar experiences with ground polygons, because I had not included a Flattening polygon.This how I am trying to install the Pylon in my scenery!!!!!; …

    Greetings to all!This is my first post to the forum, but I came in and lurked a bit yesterday and it looks to me like a lot of you guys know your stuff.Anyway...I'm writing a proggy to read BGLs and convert them to OpenFlight models. It's been kinda tricky, but most objects are converting alright (woohoo!). However, there's one problem with positioning them.....Scale_AGL (Opcode 0x77) is used a lot. The AGL stands for "At Ground Level". For those of you who don't know much about BGL opcodes, a scale is a local set of coordinates to create an object. It's got a centre (lat/lon/alt) and the number of metres per unit. Scale_AGL doesn't have the altitude of the centre defined…

    Need some help.... Trying to change/modify an airport using Airport 2.60 and don't see the changes. Have been able to modify other airports, ones that I've downloaded. When I go to set-up the area with the lat and long it says that FS2002 says the mag dev is -17.8 or -17.9, where is this info coming from because the airport should be around 9.8. If someone has the time too look I will e-mail the bgl file to them( the one I created.. 1kb ), I would greatly appreciate it. The airport is CNW2 if someone would like to test it using AFW 2.6. I have tried setting it to what it should be, I've let AFW do what it wanted, and I've set it to zero, still no luck.Muskoka

    Hey all,I am new to all of this stuff so please bear with me,I am trying to develop a method of obtaining the geographical data for taxiway, runway outline and building outline details straight from Fs2002.They must be in there, they are used to setup the scenery at correct geographical locations on our scenery.Are there any programs that already access this info?     When adding an ILS to a runway, will it work well if you use the coordinates of the runway touchdown zone BOTH for the glideslope and the localizer??I have observed that in most default ILS's, the localizer and the glideslope (even the DME sometimes) have different coordinate positions. I guess they better reflect reality, but is this mandatory for it to work properly in the simulator??ThanksJoaquin

    When I texture a series of similar polygons in GMAX, I find it simpler to just use the Material Editor over and over to apply the entire bitmap to each entire polygon, rather than unwrap and edit the vertices for each polygon to fit, since the vertices often seem scattered all over the place. However.............is there someone out there who can tell me whether applying the entire map directly to the polygons using box is inefficient....I am wondering whether applying the bmp with the Material Editor dialog box apply button for each polygon will result in forcing the flightsim to open over and over again the bitmap file for each polygon, and consequently give me a frame …
