Hi guys,I need someone who has a good BGL De-compiler program which he knows how to use very well, in order to remove static aircraft & cars entries from a bunch of BGL files. The scenery that I'm talking about in particular is available at Flightsim.com - Login into Flightsim.com, go to Search Files, and search for "Jeddah" in FS2002 scenery, or you can search by the file name of "jeddah.zip" .I need someone to de-compile the BGLs in the scenery and remove the static aircraft & cars from the scenery, leaving the rest (trees, building enhancments, etc...) as it is. I have a question about GMAX dimensions and the FSregen API procedure. I made a box (rectangle) in GMAX with the correct (for my building) dimensions of 480m x 30m x 11m. I then exported and made an API via the FSregen process. Once the API was placed using Airport 2.60 (with a SCALING of 1) the terminal shows up fine but all the dimensions are double what I made them in GMAX! I then went into GMAX, halved all the dimensions, made an API again and the terminal showed up in the correct dimensions. All my units are set to meters in GMAX (Both in the Unit Setup and the Preferences dialog). Anyone know what the deal is?On another note, am I asking hard questions here or…

Hello group. I am attempting some scenery design for the city located nearest my home. I have created some gmax models of highrise buildings in the area. I have successfully exported them to fs2002. However, when I restart fs the default autogen objects are still located in the exact spot I am attempting to place my models. This wouldn't really be a problem except I have autogen objects that are "hanging out" of the side of my models. I have attempted the exclude switch within fs .cfg file but when I attempt to place my gmax model back into fs it does not appear (obviously because the area is excluded.) I am sure there is a simple fix for this issue and any help you guys …

I remember reading about this in a post but couldn't find it. Is there a way to find and then remove the default airport decal textures that define the basic shape of an airfield? I'd like to remove it and then use my own or just use LandClass Assistant to make it look a lot better. Or even photoreal.Thanks

When you have converted an object to Editable Mesh is there any way to go back and change the dimensions of the object (besides the scale function). It seems that when you have used the Edit Mesh you lose the keyboard dimension entry modifiers.ThanksShez

Hi guys,I really need someone to delete the static aircraft from a scenery, which is in particular an FS2002 freeware scenery of Jeddah's King Abdulaziz International Airport, Saudi Arabia. I contacted the author of the scenery but he won't respond. The problem with the scenery is that the static aircraft fill the ramp so much, that there isn't space for parking your aircraft. The scenery is made with Airport For Windows but I don't know which version.So will somebody at least tell me how to delete the static aircraft from being displayed, from within the BGL file? Or will someone take the scenery (I'll send it) and delete the static aircraft from them? Any help would be …

How can I remove an default object which type is water scenery (lake, dam) which has been generated for certain height above sea level. After the installation of real mesh scenery this water surface is above real terrain and its position disagrees with reality.

Anyone here got a clue about doing scenery animation with gMax? The manual says: "If a part name has the prefix from the following table and the part has a keyframe animation, then that animation will be tied to a Flight Simulator variable. The total number of keyframes must not exceed 1024, which means that the maximum animation cycle is approximately 56 seconds." The "table" lists only once such prefix -- Tick18.This, of course, doesn't work -- you can name any part you want with the prefix "Tick18", give it keyframes, export it to a BGL and it resoutely refuses to animate, at least with moves and rotation (haven't tried animating materials, but that's not too useful)…

Saw a post on the other site where someone was having the exact same problem as me. All you long time users probably already know this so I'am posting it for us newbies. When setting up your directories dont have the Default BGL path and the File BGL path the same or it won't compile an exclude. You will get an error that it cant find the path and you know it exists, its the program that dosen't like it. In the attached screenshot I had my Default BGL and my File BGL pointing to the same directory and it wouldn't compile. Changed my File BGL to the root of my location and all is well. Dont understand it but it works. If you dont have an exclude it works fine.Muskoka

I found an interesting document by Steve McClelland at abacuspub.com relating to fs2002 and ASD. Seems that ASD can be used to create new scenery for fs2002 and CFS2.The document explains which parts of ASD can and cannot be used when creating scenery for fs2002. HiI need some help drawing a poly to the ground.Lets take this example:We have a Poly defined like that:Points( 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 1 0 1 0 0 1 )Poly(m 0 32767 0 1.0 1 2 3 4 )This draws a quadrant to the ground.If i go right over it with my a/c i can see it. But if i go down on it i can't... I can only see it if i am a little over it. Thats very bad because i need polys on wich can drive with the a/c.Is this a vector len problem? (I can't use "a" due seveal resons)Yes i now that there is a StartSurface/EndSurface command but i can't handle texture with it properly.Any hints?

I just did a reinstall of FS2K2 when updating to the Windows XP OS and I am now experiencing block water textures (solid ssquares of color) which are especially prevalent at night. My system consists of an Athlon 950 (@1050) and a GF2MX with 384 megs of RAM.I seem to have remembered other experiencing this problem but a search through the forums have not turned anything up. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.Cheers!Richard

Hello,Just wondering if anyone out there is considering tackling the idea of portraying the Calgary International Airport and the city in a more realistic way as opposed to the classic MS oversight ?I've been wanting to do this for about three years now, but procrastination and frustrations have held me back from moving beyond the experimenting and doodling. GMAX is slowly being absorbed into my head and I have begun to take photos of the southern half of the airport.In the end I would have the airport done and an accurate landclass and macro section detailing the entire city.
