Is someone working on or planing a new scenery for Madeira? The current available commercial and non-commercial product are as far as I know not so well done. It might be difficult, because the redirected and lengthend new runway is placed in parts on a bridge-like construction. The circling approach to Madeira is still one of the most challenging thinks in aviation.Greeting Quinto

Actually I asked this question already under another topic, but in order to get some input I do it again. To put it simple I am trying to place fxstrobe effect on the animated "follow me" truck.Can this be done and if yes then how? I have read that Fsregen can do the trick, but with certain limitations. However, whenever I open Fsregen in order to read fseffects it crashes with "runtime error 53". I have read SDK material about the effects. Pretty interesting and promissing stuff specially in "controller" part. I was fascinated to learn that sound effects could be placed withing scenery and triggered in set proximity of the viewer. Hi,I have recently bought fs2k2. Because I was not impressed with the default mesh that comes with fs2k2 I decided to purchase the England and Wales mesh from LAGO.I am impressed with the mountain tops but not with the valleys because lakes now appear at the wrong levels and streams no longer run through the valley bottoms. Presumably the lakes etc are still being shown at their incorrect microsoft levels (which in some cases is grossly in error).Does anyone know how to fix this?I am also interested in being able to change the motorway layout as the standard microsoft layout is a joke. Hi,As a newbie my question is easier then Gabriel's.;) I have a city map and I want to design all roads as real in city with using this map. 1-What is the best way to do this?2-I read something like old STD roads doesn't work in FS2K2.(What is STD ? :) ) What is the technic for building roads for FS2K2.3- Is it posiible to use mesh and terrapictures under roads.ThanksKenan

Hi,I have a photoreal airport done with Architect2002 photogrid method (flat texpoly). Now I want it to be hard so the aircraft when it rolls on it the surface won't be bumpy and we won't see dust coming out from the groud... I am looking for a method to make the surface hard with a polygon. Any idea?ThanksMichel

Hi AllWith some wonderful help from Dick (Rumba), Chris Wright, and others I've been able to upgrade my LWMDraw tool. Now you can type in your FS coordinates, set the altitude and press a Calculate button to determine the LOD 8 Cell and LOD 13 Area from the entered coordinates. Then you can load your drawn lake image of 256x256 pixels, in bmp, jpg, or gif format and click around the boundry area you wish, (at this time there is a 62 point limit). When finished clicking in the LWMPoint data you can now click to create the LWMSource.asm file which is ready to assemble (compile) by dropping it onto BGLC.exe.LWMDraw still only deals with a single LOD 13 area at a time alth…

On default FS airports, the taxiways are displayed as light grey strips with light yellow lines. I was wondering whether it's possible to change these defaults with more realistic looking taxiways, so that you can make a few changes to a file and it will change all the default airfields?Thanks for any helpPhil

Hi all,I *think* I'm finally getting some idea of what's involved in getting fully 2k2 enabled scenery built! I've fiddled with LandClass Assistant, just learned about scm2vtp, gotten used to FSSC, and I think I understand the dialect as well! (you don't speak English here, you know!)More seriously, does someone maintain a listing or FAQ for all the utilities and small programs 2k2 scenery requires right now? Hi AllI have recently created some scenery of my local airfield.I used aerial pictures to base my scenery on, but rather than use polygons with assigned Textures, I want to creat a bitmap file which covers the base of my airfield, assumably 256*256.Its the scale factor which the bitmap or bitmap's would need to be which is causing the mental block. Hi,Apparently it is possible to use non-square textures with FSDS2-objects (I guess GMAX as well?), but I have never tried it, just have it in the back of my head that it should work. I must have read it somewhere or something like that. Well, now to the question: if that is possible, then are there any cons with it, or is it just as good as it sounds, that one can get rid of all those unneeded pixels that leave when you have placed your texture in a square bmp file?

Hello,If you see the attached image you can see that the additionnal mesh is always cut by the the old shoreline.I have created landclasses (desert) in order to see what happens.Desert LWM areas in ocean appears, immediatly near de coast and in ocean where it was before no land lanclasses.I have done various tests but without results.Do you know the way to 'expand' the mesh ?Thanks for your answerChristian

I created an airport using FS Architect. It uses a .bmp for a background Photo image. The airport has runways and taxiways. I created an agn file using Annotator but no autogen objects show up. Could someone give me some tips on how to get autogen working?Here is a snap of the airport in Architect.

Hey all,In the previous version of gMax I could make, let's say a plane, put it in a control tower as a window, apply a texture AND lower it's opacity to make it a little transparent. Now I change the opacity in the new and crap material editor (I hate this, why did they change it?) but the texture comes up in FS, but it's not transparent like I set it to be at 75. How can I apply both a texture and trasparency to an object without make the actual texture transparent as when I do that on a finger it is so transparent that the terminal behind the finger is also see-through. I'm attempting to place some chimney smoke in a scenery file by using FSRegen to replace a specified material with the effect I want. When using Fsregen to process effect in the scenery I encounter run-time error 53 upon opening effect selection window in step 3. I have updated VB6 library and all other Fsregen requirements like higlights etc. are under control. Or at least I hope they are.Ted

Hello,Here is a screenshot That shows the areas that are excluded by the runways way beyong its tips. I do not know if it is related to the refpoints but I know that the refpoint is in the middle of a runway. Or maybe there is something in the runway code that excludes autogen at a great distance past its tips. i wonder if the technique described by Luis an that I used for the photogrid (transformcall) will solve this issue for the runways as wellCheers!Michel

Hi,I designed my scenery 3D objects in Gmax like the terminal and the control tower, the radar etc... Now I want to put on the tower the beacon that is usually present and on the radar a sort of light.How do you think I can add them? Does FSRegen add such lights? I downloaded LA 1.3 yesterday evening and was "playing" around with it till 2.30 in the morning!!! (did not realize how time was running :-) )The new features are great, exspecially the replacement feature and the opportunity to import the koordinates via FSUIPC.I did lots of projects with LA before, but only for my personal use.The new version of LA encourages me now to do a proper project of my local area, the Tyrol (just because I know how the real landscape looks), which I plan to upload for everybody's enjoyment (off course only after I got your permission once it is ready).RegardsWolfgang edited, because my space bar still does not work properly :-)

Hi allI have been trying to create textures with transparency, using PSP7 I set the transparency areas in 0,255,0 (Green) and saving as a Bitmap.Using DXTBmp loading the bitmap and creating a Green alpha channel, a mask in effect, I guess. I output the file as Dxt3 bitmap. Problems with DXT1+A (Invalid Floating point operation) Nvidia problem I think!!!But in FS2002, the texture doesn't show and makes other parts of the building transparent, that don't have a texture assigned to it.I am using FSDS v1.6, which I am told doen't write good scasm code.One problem I am having is how to test whether the texture is part of the problem or whether it is the scasm code for the bu…

First of all congratulations to John Cillis. 1.3 works really great.No more problems whith W long.0 (I must say you are really fast, John)and the FSUIPC interface makes the use of LCA even much easier.Really huge improvements.My question is; are there custom textures sets available to use with LCA?. I have to add obstacles (towers) to my scenery but the data will derived from an eletronic source that gives me latitude/longitudes with obstacle heights.
