I am trying to find some maps and informations about Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados. I know their main site, but not much is there. Does anyone know about any GAIA's scenery made or in process of being made? I have some good photographs which I am willing to share with anyone interested. Ted

Hi,Using Architect2002 3.10 I placed ILS antenas (4 to 5 of them) wish are from the object library. However in FS the frame rate gets down to below zero and the animatoin moves 1 frame each 1 second or so. I disabled their BGL and everything came back to smooth again. I tried the scale 1 and 0.5 no clue. Anyone knows please why the fps droped that low? Here is the code of the SCA with the objects compiled with FreeSC; -----------------------------------------------------------------------------; MACRO: R18 G/SArea( b 33:50:7.753636 35:29:20.333310 20 ) RefPoint( rel :noObj 0.500000 33:50:7.753636 35:29:20.333310 v1= 37040 v2= 32767 ) RotatedCall( :rot 0 0 0.00 )…

I have experimented with Terrascene and photoreal (colorized Terraserver) textures. While they work well for small areas covering significant distances for VFR flying is a lot of work.My observations:The non-FS synthetic (photoreal & Terrascene) seem slightly more blurred than the adjacent FS synthetic textures. May be the resample and not a significant drawback.Using Terrascene's own textures offers a very different color appearance and at the transistion boundry look bad. I converted FS2002 textures for use by Terrascene and saw an improvment but small texture elements gave very repetitive patterns in crop fields. Reverted to Terrascene (HITW actually) textures for …

Hi all,I have added anti-collision lights to my bridge macros, but am having enormous difficulty making them bright from any sort of distance, especially some colours. For example, one bridge has red, green and yellow lights plus white strobes on it - the red lights are visible up to 2km away, but the other have much shorter "ranges" - green is barely visible 200m away. One of my bridges has an airport beyond it, and I have the odd situation that I can't see my nearby bridge lights, but CAN see bright lights at the airport 5km away!I have tried several variations on the code, with mixed results, but even the best results still have a very short range. The basic VOD-type ligh…

This version is more reliable and the FIX function has been improved so that complex TerraScene images should be handled successfully. Also the LWMDataAreaDrawPolygons second parameter can be set (it defaults to 3 but a value of 1 can solve problems when trimming coastlines). Get it here: http://www.kline.demon.co.uk/autoASMV04.exe You can get the original package with documentation etc here: http://www.kline.demon.co.uk/AutoAsmV03.zip Best regards, Chris

Hello everybody!I wanted to exclude objects using the masm code and to do so, i had a look at FS2000 scenery sdk and the *.inc files... but i haven't seen any macros using "exception data". Do we have to make one?Any idea?Of course, using "GenExc" with scasm work perfect but i want to test masm code!I've wrote this *.asm code, compile with bglc, but no exclusion in FS2K2!; exceptionsdata_base label word; DATABASE HEADER dd 0004E727AH ; 02 North bound dd 0004E53B8H ; 06 South bound dd 00539FCA7H ; 10 East bound dd 00539FCA5H ; 14 West bound dd 0 ; VOR data dw 0 ; lowest …

Hi,I might have asked this question to some of you earlier (at least Arno). Is it possible to achieve parts, which are configured as "lines" (in FSDS1/2) that also changes with the sun, so that when one side is a bit darker, the side in the direct sunlight is a bit brighter, just like normal polygons, parts work. Now the "lines"-objects are constantly bright (just like the autogen trees also seems to be, to give you a reference to what I mean...).Thanks in advance.

After much experimenting with FSSC I finally rebuilt my home airport. Now the problem I have is that I want to add buildings. The ones I have tried to add with FSSC arent so hot looking. Anybody have any ideas what would work doing this? Preferably something with an extensive library of buildings and even aircraft for that matter. Pay or Free it doesnt matter. One other note I am not the most proficient scenery builder so a steep learning curve isnt the best idea. Thats not to tall an order now is it :-lol

Below is a code generated for a CallLibObj by FSRegen. I adjusted it by including a section after the mif(11) for density settings. Initially everything was fine and the density settings worked well. All of a sudden yesterday things began to go wrong with the 3d objects! The objects started to disappear at certain angles when one rotated around them (why this did not happen earlier I do not understand). Interestingly this happens when the density setting is set at Dense or lower. Only one object is at Very Dense setting and when Very Dense setting is set in FS then all is well and no object disappearances...Even stranger is that my own aircraft also disappears at certain …

Hello everybody!I was reading the message "Object Library droping the frame rate below 0!" and I remember then an old discussion we had for FS20002 years ago! Subject was "how to design photorealistic terrain" with Andras Kozma, Misho Katulic, CWright,Martin Wright and others fellows designers: the deal was to find a new method due to the lack of photorealistic scenery capability in FS2k as the MS team forgot about the visibility factor of the old "TexRelief" command...Andras Kozma found then the method AREA type E (coming from CFS1)in combination with "MeshWith1Tex" and something VERY IMPORTANT for the FS2002's designers: FORGET THE PERSPECTIVE ROUTINE that is to say FO…

Hi all,Thanks to some help from this forum and it's programmers, my 1st FS2k2 scenery has just been uploaded to Avsim.Search on my name, or for "Homathko River", to find 'Homathko River & Scar Creek Airstrips, BC, Canada.'. These are a pair of real strips that got left out of 2k2, and they're in spectacular locations - take a bush plane in with you. Thanks to scm2vtp, the roads actually work, and there's a sandbar in the river roughly where the maps show it to be in reality!Enjoy - comments always appreciated!Brian.

Dear friends,It seems that what Dick has suggested in the past really works. This is the bit of code used to test the idea. To test this you need to place the bgl in a folder without texture folder at the same level and the correspondent texture which in this case is 012121110322321??.bmp in the SCENEDBWORLDTexture folder together with the agn if you want autogen with your custom folder. This obviously solves the problem of having wave effects together with custom textures. Now the problem is: Yes, there is a problem. As already reported by Dick in a post a long time ago, the texture coordinates are not according to what it says in the SDK. Is there a way to place the textu…

Hi all.I downloaded all of Jimmy Martin's awesome Caribbean scenery and have installed a few so far. The scenery is great and makes my caribbian flights much more enjoyable. Kudos to Jim, Great work! However, I am noticing some object do not have textures, they are just white shapes. This is particularly noticeable in the Caribbean ships scenery and in some of the additional island airport buildings (MYNN comes to mind). I have all the Nova textures installed and have followed his install instructions to the letter. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.Doug

Hi guys!I can allmost say heureka today. I finally managed to put my texture for FS2002 style roads and they showed up in FS2002!Okay, hee is what I did. I used SCM2VTP and FSSC at the beginning. In FSSC I draw roads by my map I have got, then compiled BGL so the SCA files stayed there. Some roads were marked as major roads, some were marked as minor orads, some as roads. The last two showed as roads in FS2k2. Funny, rivers showed as shorelines with crashing waves :-eekThen I passed this SCA file (8+3 notation!) to SCM2VTP that produced the OUTPUT.ASM. Okay, then I have edited this file especially paying attention to VTPTextureId instruction where the first number referen…

Hi Folks http://www.januranusjaymartin.de/uranusjay...ley-hifolks.gifPlease take a look to this image from FS2002 KSFO:http://www.januranusjaymartin.de/images/ai...erminal-a-b.gifI have tried almost all to exclude the circled old terminal building of default FS2002 KSFO scenery. I guess it is too close to the Gate A Concourse, so all my exclude attempts failed. I tried to exclude other stand alone buildings at KSFO and that worked.Have you any idea, please?!Thx &

Hello again!I try using gmax to make ground polygons....As arno says we have to place the code:OBJECT_0_START label word IFIN1 OBJECT_0_FAIL, image_complex, 2, 32767 ADDCAT OBJECT_0_SCALE, 8but we should also replace: "TEXTURE_DEF TEXTURE_AIRCRAFT "by "TEXTURE_DEF 5" as we used to do with LoadBitmap WSL5ou BGL_TEXTURE2 .Good work!;)

For some reason, the FS2002 Vasi/PAPI lights at Australian airports are very dull when compared to US airports -- the red too low lights are OK but the white ones are almost impossible to see until too late. (see Coolangatta airport dor an example).Does anybody know how these lights are generated inside the Sim?Thanks Barry

Hello,I'm not a scenery designer, so I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing, lol. I downloaded an add-on Sacramento scenery, excellent BTW, but I've got the double runways. I tried using slew, going to the four corners of the airfield and then using those coordinates, tried to insert a flatten switch. Now, I've lost the runways altogether.Anyone know of a fix for this or how I can fix it?Thanks,Lobaeux

Whenever I load up KPHX or fly in to phoenix, I get the "missing objects" warning, this is with the excellent KPHX scenery add-on. Am I missing some objects or textures? I've downloaded the VOD and airport textures awhile ago, are there new ones? I noticed in the install, there's no textures, just .bgl's.Lobaeux

I'm now a couple of weeks into my first scenery design project. There's still plenty I need to learn, but I'm getting better at it. I have run into a problem though that has me stumped. I used Drawr8 to place a ground texture in my scenery. In doing so, it covered up many of my poly's. I was able to get most of them back by changing their layer assignment (BTW - I'm using AP v2.60 build 157). However my ground texture also concealed a road that I made. If I try to change the layer assignment for the road it disappears. I would like to change the layer assignment of the ground texture instead (it's a 3D object), but I can't figure out how to change layer assignments for th…

This is my first serious scenery, I'm using Lago's FSSE to "improve" the (awful) default Brasilia SBBR scenery. I also made some improvements with AFCAD to make it look a bit more like the real airport. It's almost done with all hangars, most commercial a/c gates, some general aviation ramps and additional scenery. I'm still working on it, so it will be as loyal as possible to the SBBR airport, this is just a preview.I'm planning to add it to the Avsim library soon. What do you more experienced designers think of it?Cheers!

Hi,I did a test with a beacon animation using the SDK MakeMDL and it works! :))Now I thought applying the same technique to a Radar I had previously modeled. So I animated the Radar Part and gave it the name Tick18_Nameand then used the SDK MakeMdl to export only the animated part as a seperate BGL but I got the usual Gmax Error. MakeMDL not found etc...So I checked the export Log file and I found this error in it:error A2071: initializer magnitude too large for specified sizeAny idea what is this error exactly? My radar animated part is just a rectangular box with a texture on itThanksMichel
