HI EVERYONE,I WANT TO MAKE MY RUNWAYS LOOK LIKE SNOW HAD SWEPT ACROSS THEM(NON-ANIMATED).MABE SOMETHING LIKE SOME SNOW HAS CREPT ONTO THE RUNWAYS FROM BOTH SIDES FOR MY WINTER FLYING...COULD SOMEONE STEER ME OR LEAD ME TO A TUTORIAL ON WORKING WITH RUMWAY TEXTURES?I TRIED IT ALREADY BUT NOTHING APPEARS ON THE RUNWAYS..IM NOT EVEN SURE I LOCATED MYSELF ON THE PROPER AIRPORT IN WHICH I ALTERED THE TEXTURE OR NOT!THERE ARE SO MANY TEXTURES IN FS2002 AND I NEED TO KNOW WHAT ONES I COULD ALTER OR LEAVE ALONE.THANKYOU FOR YOUR HELP!!J. I am trying to make runway with multiple texture. In reality it was a patch up job and 100 m extensions on both ends of the runway are made of light concrete, whereas the original is black asphalt. I am working with FSDS and I've tried two overlaping runways: longer light concrete underneath and black shorter on top. Bad news: only one is displaying. Also landing on such a arrangement always burns the tires.I've tried extended runoffs but then there is problem with treshold lights. Anybody with FSDS experience or perhaps other solution would be welcomed.Ted

just looking for some simple airport scenery software..like drag and drop......the old fly2 had it was pretty good.thx....also look for program to extract the aircraft files so l could paint them many thx guys

As a newcomer to FS2002 could I am bugged a few 'towers', usually oversized airport beacons that impinge on runways, such as the one just off Rwy 26 approach at Elstree (EGTR). I assume this is a default MS object, although I do have 'UK2000 scenery' here as well.Please point to suitable documentation to learn how to alter this to the correct airport beacon size.Dave T.

Some time ago I published my frequency controlled animation tutorial and some users reported that the opening and closing animations appeared more then one time. Ok, I solved the seam display/flashing problem. The problem had to do with the textures, but it is still very strange and unexpected. And, it is not directly related to the texture mapping. If you look at the two textures below. Texture A is the texture that gave me the seams. Texture B corrects the problem.Now, I know the first thing in looking at the textures, is that you might think that I had incorrectly mapped the right side of the textures into the black area. But, this is not the case. The black areas occupy colummns 252 thru 256 (256x256 bitmap). My texture mappings for the far right side of the model were 0.9804 (X-axis). Guys,There is something that I have been fighting for some time, and I wonder if anyone has any input on the matter. I have a process that creates buildings using BGLC drawing primitives (floating point routines). When two horizontal walls (polygons) are joined together, I always see an annoying seam that is displayed when the object repaints. This should not occur, as the end points for one polygon are the same as the beginning points for the next polygon. It also only occurs where planes are joined together along the Y axis (not vertically along the X axis).At first, I thought it might have been a problem with my texture mappings. Hello everyone, This is my first post in this forum so be nice :) I live in Milwaukee, WI and I have used Shez's KMKE scenery in FS2k2 and it works fine but I also found KMKE done by Steve Gonwa. He did a very good job on the scenery and for me I would like to use this one. OK here is my problem, Shez's scenery just replaces the buildings and that works great and Steves scenery replaces taxways and runways also and the problem is that the runways are not the same as FS2k2 they are moved to the north, so this is a problem for flying online with Vatsim. So my question- is there an easy way to remove a file or two to get just the buildings and keep FS2k2's taxiways and runwa…

There has been some discussion of the different types of Area() available. When should we use them?The BGL language provides for 9 (or is it 10) different classes of 3D scenery object in 'section 9' code. We can choose between SMALL (256-byte), LARGE (64kB) and HUGE (unlimited size) code models, and between NEAR, FAR and NEAR-FAR ranges. There was also a special 'LARGE RANGE' or 'ALWAYS LOADED' class in FS5.1 - but I'm not sure whether that still has any real use.The complete list of 9/10 classes is in the FS2000 Scenery SDK, but without a full explanation. I have been reading the SDK's and learned that some really cool stuff can be done. But where can I learn how to write some of this code that they are talking about? (refering to FS scenery SDK on BGL code)And is it that hard to learn? I am interested in making dynamic scenery, as just the SDK's aren't enough. Thanks in advance.

Maybe a simple fix, but need help with it. I am doing a scenery with a cabin and a large bay window, with it transparent and a person(s) on the other side of the window (DXT1 texture) I get the window to be trans and show great and I get the person to show as well, just you cannot see them THRU the window. any ideas? Hi all.I thought maybe it was time for a new thread concerning the placement of library objects. From what I can gather, the consensus is that using objects from libraries can save coding time, and can save memory as well. Microsoft uses this technique with the default scenery objects, and Gmax apparently also produces an ASM object in Library format, and a placement ASM. It makes no difference what coding language is used to create the library object call, as long as the resultant BGL is valid.Just for comparison's sake...I placed a default Library object ( radar shack tower ) near my home airport. Hi I've got back to continuing with abit of Gmax work today on my tower. After having loads of continuous errors due to certain shapes, i've got it exported into FS. For some reason, some sections which i have Mirrored in Gmax aren't being displayed properly, the side which displays the textures (or in this case, the white) is located on the "inner" side of the shape.I guess i am meant to do something else, like to "flip" the viewing side onto the correct side (after mirroring the part)?I'd appeciate some help :)Here's a pic:http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3deb3be16daac29d.jpg
