Is there any way of changing the gound textures on the Airports Aprons, especially at KORD and KSFO? (and is it easy!!). The brown/white /green speckled aprons don't look very realistic.Many thanks and best wishes to all for a very happy Christmas!chris.J.HickmanEGBB

Ive tried to find the thread on this topic, but can't seem to connect.I want to apply two different textues to single model. There was talk of a scenery creator simular to TerraScene that will download nedded data create immages for any nedded editing slice and build texture and BGL files. I have tried the Scenery Builder with no sucess, it sliced the files Alpha and Temp texture, that are very blury compared to the defauly BMP, but no scenery and frankly I just don't get it. I would be more than willing to pay for a User friendly program that realy works. It seems that noone has much sucess, if they are they do not want to share them except for some local airports. Just a quick question... how do I open and/or save to the .r8 format? I need to change some images in FS2002 and I can't seem to pry those suckers open with ImageTool.

Hi!I have one phylosophical question. Let say we have one model which is more detailed when aircraft is near (so fences appears, antennas, etc...) and less detailed when far. Which conditional instruction is better to use,* IfVarRange( :Ret 33b 0 $max_dist ) or* IfVSize( :Ret $Max_dist $min_pixel ) IfHSize( :Ret $Max_dist $min_pixel )I tried to find it out by myself and it seems there is no big difference. Hi Guys,I'm completely new to this scenery design(only about 24 hours now). I'd like to thank you all for getting me started; reading through this list helped me get past most the initial hurdles. Anyway I've managed to created a textured GMAX runway but since I've excluded the original scenery sitting underneath, I've got the expected bumpy runway problem. I've been trying to use Arno's 'bumpy' by converting asm files to sca & feeding them into bumpy. I select the sca file & click open but nothing happens, no texture entries appear in the window below. Flight Simulator keeps getting better and better thanks to all of the great designers (freeware & payware) who put in thousands of hours of programming. My compliments to all of you.I downloaded Simflyers sceneries and love it! There is alot of airport scenery animation...What would it take to program animated passengers, boarding and de-planing an aircraft? I'm wondering if someone out there might have some suggestions on how to do proper night lighting with PSP. I can get the lighting effect to work out fine, but when viewing the texture in FS2002, the textures look really aweful...They become pixelated and look like they have a reddish hue.If you have any suggestions, i'd like to hear them...ThanksDavid

The scenery was initially created with 'airport for windows' and then AFCAD was used to complete the workings of the FS. The scenery in question is 'ercan2k2.zip' ERCAN-(LCEN)airport in North Cyprus. This airport is not a default airport in FS and was created from scratch.The AFCAD, FS and the GPS shows all the airport information and the ILS green cone. However when NAV1 is tuned to the ILS frequency nothing happens. Could somone explain what to do?Letats

Hi!Maybe this problem has already been solved here but I don't know what I have to search for.I want to create a sloped runway using a VTP2-Polygon. This shouldn't be a problem so far. The problem is that I want to create it on a default airfield.It seems that it's impossible to exclude the flatten which came with the defaut airfields. Until now I found only one "solution": Delete the BGL which contains the specificied airfield with all others around it. :-(ThxSasa

Although I have been doing photoreal for quite some time, I am new to VTP and LWM design. I have been able to draw in a section of I-15 near my home that MS didn't have remotely close to its actual location. I would now like to remove the default roads and replace them with ones that are closer to reality. (As real as it gets, right?)My question is how do you exclude the default roads, rivers, lakes, etc.? I have found threads that talk about excluding these items, but they say that you need to do it without any instruction to the newbie :-newbie (me) on how to exclude them.Are there any tutorials, instructions, or other information on how to exclude these items?Thanks…

I downloaded the skyharborv3 scenery by Rick "Grayal" Bores and my aircraft bounces excessively when I taxi at the airport. Same aircraft does not bounce at other airports. Is there a way to fix that scenery to eliminate that bounce?

Hi!Sorry, but I still didn't get it how to create simple polygons in FS2k2-style. I mean these ones with smoth borders.Is it right, that VTP is used to create roads, rivers and shorelines and LWM is used to create the polygons? Until now I only managed it to create water surfaces using LWM. How is it possible to create these polygons with textures like grass?ThxSasa

The Standard FS Groundtextures for Landclass are in the DXT1 Format with 256x256 pixel and 7 Mip Level. This is ~ 4,8m per pixel in nature. The highest Mip Level is 256x256 pixel the next with a bad Resolution has 128x128 and so on.When i create new DXT1 or normal 8bit Groundtextures with 512x512 pixel and 8 mips the Resolution is very good but the FS does not show the 512x512 pixel variant. The FS ignore the variant and show the256x256 pixel mip variant. I found out in FS2002.CFG under line TERRAIN is a switch "TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8". In binary =256. When i change the number to 7=128 the FS show at highest level the 128 pixel mip variant. But when i change the numbe…

HiI have the following problem:I made a ground texture using a 1024 x 1024 texture. Making the textures 256 colours, the whole 1024 pixels are showed. But as soon as I let the colours at 16Mil and convert the image using DXTBmp, it seems as only the 512 pixels mip is loaded, the pictures looks very blury and .. yes 512 pixels style. Any chance to force FS2K2 using the full 1024 texture?The error appeared after I reinstalled my system with WinXP.ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!THANKS in adcance & happy holidaysMario

Hi,1/ Can you turn on the rinways lights in daylight, if so how? Tried an approach in daylight with low cloud and poor vis and didnt see any runway light. Did same at night and no problem, saw them OK.2/ Have a confliction with some 3rd party software and a navaid bgl I've built using easynav. The exclude function doesnt seem to have worked very well. Would the only way to stop the confliction be to remove the navaid section after decompling with scasm or is there another way to remove these navaids with another piece of software?Thanks and Rgds Ron

What in Hades happens to road widths & designations when you run them through scm2vtp?I have a scenery with 5 roads in it (all FSSC FS2k-style roads):1. 26m wide - stay as road2. 26m wide - as above3. 20m wide - as above4. 40m wide - become a stream5. 80m wide - become shoreline/sandbarHOWEVER... when I open the .asm file and edit the entry with "40" as it's second width entry, the *20m* wide road gets changed into a stream, and the 40m stays a road... Choosing the 20m as the stream changes one of the 26m roads into a stream... I FINALLY got everything sorted by changing the first 26m road into a stream, which (illogically) got me everything in the right places, seemi…

I've been playing around with putting standard Microsoft FS2002 library objects into my sceneries, by using the library adresses I find searching the FS2002 standard-BGLs with FSRegen.Sometimes I see some sort of texture error at the objects I activate. See my example below. Other objects come out nice with no error at all.This FS2002 standard scenery cruise ship looks as it should do, it only needs some scale adjustments. The yellow crane however seems to have reversed transparent/non-transparent textures. Do any of you have any idea of what could be causing this?

I've been trying to get the SPRITE_VICALL command to work correctly, and have aquired a large headache in the proccess...I'm guessing Sir ARNO Lord of the BGL code will know this one.:-lolI'm building trees in GMax (using a single vertical plane)The trees show up fine in FS2002, but every modification I have attempted to make to the SPRITE_VICALL rotates the tree in some weird ways... it actually banks the tree like it's blowing down in a windstorm!
