I have recently purchased the VFR photoreal scenery of the UK by just flight. The problem is as it is so accurate, the default buildings in London have had to be removed due to their innacurate positions. I assume it must be possible to extract various buildings and landmarks such as the houses of parliament , the millenium dome and Tower bridge etc. from MSFS and place them in their correct positions on top of the VFR scenery. Can someone tell me what I need to acomplish this task? I know we can increase the priority of addon scenery but how do you move it if the position is slightly offset from what it should be? any help would be appreciated as I want to get London Bac…

hi,I am experiencing problems with Skyworld se.I only get my standard cloud textures.I downloaded and installed both VB5 and 6.I have not had a previous installation either.Alo,I installed that ocx thingy as well as a 32.dll.Maybe the vb 5 and 6 are outdated? Or does XP not work well with skyworld se?Despite all this,I do not get any error message.

I gather others have actually gotten scm2vtp to produce something aside from error messages in German; I hope so, anyway. I've got a roads-only FSSC file, both roads there have all their points in the right order and display as well as you can expect 2k roads to work in 2k2 (not wonderfully...).However, when I run scm2vtp on the sca file that FSSC produces during compiling, all I get is that German error message! Here's the full text of the sca file, if that helps:---------------; ************************************************************; Scenery compiled by FS Scenery Creator 1.5.4 by Derek Leung; Scenery compiled on 11/29/02 12:28:51 AM; Scenery created by Brian Burge…

I have created a helipad using GMax. The thing I need to know is how do I make it landable in my helo? I just keep falling through it. I know that there is a way to do it with FSRegen, but I don't know anything about it and I would rather do it in GMax. Thanks in advance!

HiI'm making buildings in gmax 1.2 for use in fs2002. Trouble is that once in fs2002 my building model does not display properly: the surface normals bleed through one another and the model appears inside out. However the very same model (.bgl file) works fine in CFS2. Any ideas?I have tried reinstalling gmax and am using the latest makemdl version. 3d macros created with FSSC (Leung software)display without any problem. It must be something to do with my gmax setup. Thanks in advanceDanny

Long time no talk to! I have been working away with our group Irish Flight Sim Design www.ifsd.ie and have come a long way since my rotating Radars!Anyway, I'm stuck big time!I need to have a rotating Land_Light on our tower. I have created the light, and it shines to the ground lovely. However, I then try and create a rotating cylander and link the lights to it. The problem is, the light "triangles" will not rotate with the object.I know that I'm doing this "link" the correct way because I can add another object, link it to the rotating cylanser and it works...Any ideas will be greatly appreciated...And, by the way... go and register on our forum!Cheers,Nick.

Just a quick message to let you all know that I put my bumpy tool on my site. This tool reads the source files and then produces a new SCA source with code to make your aprons and taxiways smooth. The advantage of this little tool is that you can keep the grass next to your taxiway bumpy. At the moment the tools supports Airport, GroundMaker and FSSC SCASM source files. I want to add ASD and Architect too, but first need an example source file for that.Well, better stop writing know, otherwise this post will become bigger then the entire tool :D. I would like to modify an airport so that there will be more than one runway open for takeoffs and landings. Is anybody familiar with a way to open up another runway? Perhaps I could make one runway for takeoffs and one for landings? The problem I'm having is that the lineups for takeoff with AI traffic are pushing 30 minutes + at some times of the day. Thanks,Michael W.

I've been asking this question around the forums and haven't gotten a good answer yet so here goes. When taxing in ANY of my FS aircraft (FS2K2) at night I can barely see the BLUE taxiway lights out the front view however they are bright and shinny out any of the side views. Any ideas? I have the lighting set to max (8) in the hardware sections of options/display/hardware. Before I get 20 replies that say only GMAX aircraft have landing lights visible from the forward view, please re-read my post. (That has happened on EVERY post I have made regarding this problem ) I am NOT talking about landing lights, I am talking about the blue lights on the sides of the taxiway…

Guys,I feel that I am very familiar with the landclass texture scemes used by FS2002. But, I am pulling my hair out over the textures used to define the airport area (enclosed in red below).I think have looked at just about every texture in the FS2002SCENERY and FS2002SCENEDBWORLDTEXTURE folders, and cannot seem to find an exact match. If anyone knows the scheme used for FS2002 airport terrain textures, please let me know. The closed match that I can find, are the textures that begin with 003*.BMP (semi-desert scrub). I seem to remember that airport textures are hard-coded somewhere, and have nothing to do with landclass data. Many thanks,Allen

I'm working on a scenery that's sparse but large - just a few dozen objects spread over massive areas of space - about 400nm x 100nm right now. It's presently set up as three massive blgs, each just over 100x100nm but each with only 12-15 objects in it.From a file-management point of view this is easier, but is it better/worse from an fps/FS2k2-running point of view? Does it actually matter? There's no excludes or flattens in this scenery, just macro objects. Which method is least likely to interfere with already installed addon scenery? Thanks, Brian.

Hi,I designed my scenrey 3D objects with Gmax like the termninal etc... I remember reading somewhere that we can export a model to FS with different LODs? Does this apply for scenery objects or for aircraft only? Do you know how it works exactly and if it will improve frame rate?ThanksMichel

I enjoy FS flying on the Eastern Shore of MD and into DE. I had an idea to create an effect that simulated birds in the vicinity of the runway. I have watched many times on the way up to Dover how the flocks would sit happily feeding in farm fields until one of the C5-A's would come drifting over at pattern altitude doing touch and go's. They would lift off heading straight up for the aircraft and you would think this is going to be bad, then they would settle back down to the ground before reaching it.This is the behavior I would like to model with an effects file but I do not have the time working on my own aircraft model, so I put it out as a challenge to FS2002 fx des…
