Hi all,I've finally managed to run a test of how photo scenery should look like on the default scenery I'm modifying. I've had to modify the coastlines of an Island and I incidentally ran a test on a sector which incorporates the new coastline, land and water. Everything worked to perfection except that obviously, the area in the photo image which represents water substituted the default water in FS together with the wave effects, ripples etc.My question is therefore the following:Is there a way to create a 24-bit BMP image, by first laying out a 'transparent' image then superimposing on this another image containing ONLY the land part of the sector I'm adding as phototer…

I've been designing scenery for a few months now, and I've figured out a number of the nuances, though not all by a long shot ;-). One thing that I'm still a little unclear on, however, is the importance of the refpoint of various buildings and scenery objects. Specifically my question is this: I'm working on a project right now in which it would be substantially easier to lay out my buildings in Gmax around a common central point and then export them as groups of bgls. Are there drawbacks to this method? I'm assuming that if I designed a large group of buildings spread around a field and used the field's center as my 0x 0y position in Gmax then the objects would all have…

I have made the entire state of near photo quality for FS2002. Now I want to just replace (Hydro - Rivers/lakes/streams} (Transportation Highways/roads/rails/and trails) as default terrain looks rather good. What steps do I take to just add them, or would Ground2K be the better way to go? Richard L Hill;

Daniel Greenwood had made me the New River Gorge Bridge (Worlds Longest Single Arch Bridge) for Fly! and FS2002, but he no longer responds to email and I havent seen any post on Avsim for sone time, with the change in mesh in FS9 it is now too long and about 225 ft too high. I was informed it would be easier to start from scratch rather than attempt to mak,e chanmges.I can email all data and some photographs you might need if you are willing to do the macro. richardlhll@wmconnect. Hi allYesterday while creating something in gmax, I saved my work as normal, and when opening any recent file from yesterday on I get the following error, as seen below. Any files created before yesterday open fine, but I'm not going to save them again!!! lolI've tried to solve the problem by uninstalling Gmax and then reinstalling it, but that doesn't seem to fix it.Do you guys have any ideas of how to fix this problem, other than going for the format?Many thanksWillhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/30926.jpg

I would like to modify the hilly reliefs of a dwarfish zone (16 squared Kms) so that the scenery that I have created results positioned to the correct altitude. I have not given DEM of the zone but I possess one detailed altimetric map in staircase of grey. I have tried with Gmax and the command "displace" but the problem is that FS sees the hills as an object and therefore you cannot be landed us above. I have tried with the "Re-mesh" of ground2k but the detail from me in demand it is not possible to have him. Is there some program freeware or also payware that gives the possibility to recreate the meshes in way detailed for a small zone departing from an image in stairc…

Hi I am going to try to add(if possable) a few water textures starting with a "river" texture. I have acess to Maya unlimited so I can simply render out some frames to use as textures(too bad I can't get the full dynmaics in FS). They would of course have to replacethe defaylt water textures (unless someone can figure out how to addto the default water texture set). See attatched pic and tell me it you like what you see. Please note the "haze" won't be in the textures of course. Dan

I have been thinking of fixing some missing scenery in my area, again I was dissapointed to see that Stonewall Jackson Lake one of the largest man made east of the Missippi anong others not in my scenery. The Mon. River ending midway from Pittsburgh and WV border. I had made near photo quality 7 CD's, with TerraScene but lacking autogen.I am pleased with the textures for the most part just need to fix some areas. Any news would be greatful.Richard Hill;

I have a BGL/Texture of the New River Gorge Bridge, it was created by Daniel Greenwood of NZ whome I can no longer get hiom to answer my email or messages posted here. In FS9 they have have changed the elevation and changed the width of the gorge. I need someone to change the bridge, shorten the bridge road extensions, and what ever to set to the new elevation. Good AM:I'm hoping that someone can help me. I've noticed that ACOF's KMIA, KJFK, and so on, utilize generic (autogen?) ASR. I don't necessarily have a problem with this, EXCEPT the macro, which contains a concrete base, looks completely ridiculous!Does anyone know if a more realistic version exists, or can be created and used to replace the existing file? All radar assemblies that I've seen are constructed on a steel tower + platform (= lattice), which is usually painted red (for collision avoidance purposes?)I realize that I shouldn't let such minor details bug me, but these look really awful. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi everyone,Got a simple question; I hope the answer isn't just a simple "No", but it might well be ... ;)There are a bunch of new library objects in fs2k4 that aren't used as autogen anywhere, which would be really close to place in our own sceneries ... I'm mainly thinking of the airport stuff, such as towers, hangars (those that aren't "advanced buildings") and so on. Is there any hope of getting the GUID's for those objects somehow?
