I am just getting back into making scenery. I am from CT and I have my solo license. One of my favorite places to land is Hartford Brainard because of the grass landing strip. However the real brainard airoport has 50-foot trees to clear over the river and Fs2002 had nothing more than a 5-10 foot tree. My question is how do I use my Flight Simulator Scenery Creator to open this airport so I can add to it?? Will I be able to visually see it? Or do I have to write over the existing coordinated and build a complete new airport?? All I want to do is add some trees and more buildings. Thanks in advance for all help!!!

hi to all scenery-designers...i'm looking for a scenery of pisa "san giusto" airport for FS2K. since i use to fly form munich to pisa at least 4 times a year, i really like to refly the flight in my FS. starting from a good scenery of EDDM (german airports series) and landing on the FS2K default pisa airport isn't that satisfying...does anyone know a good scenery or plan on creating one?thanks for any replies...stu

HiI made a runway for Tern Island in the Pacific. The problem is this. When you start from the island buy selecting a flight, the runway is at the same height as the fictional tarmac I designed. Whne you fly out and return to the island, 100 miles + , the runway sinks into the ground and it looks as if the aircraft in in quick sand on the default FS2002 scenery for the island. Help please. How do I get the runway and tarmac to stay ontop of the default land?http://www.czeg.org/terntarmack.jpg

Hi all,I wish to thank you all for posting so much information on this forum and above all answering my questions in regard to ground2k and EZ-landclass.My first project is a new landclass for north Israel (Galil, Haifa, Carmel - to those of you who know the land). I found it very useful to work with both ground2k and EZ-landclass. Utilizing both programs give you the tools for changing coast lines, roads, rivers, etc., inserting polygons and changing completely the landscape to be much more realistic.There is one problem I found with FS2002 default textures, many of them are probably good for the mid-west but not for the mid-east (Middle-East). Been a while before I could sit down and code again. Anyway, I've made great progress on my next release of LCA.... Among the key changes:-Switch to support for 257x257 raw file format. I finished coding this on July 15th, and it was a big hurdle. I was able to complete it with no changes to the grid interface, other than the underlying code. There will still be a 64x64 point window, which will divide the .raw file into roughly 16 quadrants. An extra click in the far right or far bottom quadrants will allow access to the 257th row of points.-A conversion utility for older LCA .raw files. I'm interesting in construc sceneries for the Caribbean especifically Puerto Rico. Which one of the scenery design in the market is the best for a beginner. I'm a FS2002 fan but in Puerto Rico I don't found a store to buy this software. And in the internet I found a lot of this but because I never use one I'm confuse.If you can help me to choose one user friendly and satisfy my interest.

Hello,I have just struck on something that appears to be quite a problem. I have spent 3 hours deleting object from scenery and finally came to conclusion, that taxiway lines do exclude autogen. On my major airport I have used a lot of them and they are much needed as autogen trees are. Trees are really close to the airport (okay, in limitation for CAT IIIb operations airport) but centerlines exclude trees for 1-2 km away! All I have to say is just keep pushing yourself! When I first started learning Gmax, I could barely modify the mesh of a cube let along build detailed buildings. HiI have the following problem:When selecting parts in FSDS V2.11 and rotating this selected bucnh of parts (for example a terminal-gate made of many smaller parts) by using the rotate menu, it does not behave as I wish. It rotates every single part around it's repsective center and not, as I wish, the whole bunch of parts.Can you still follow .. little hard to describe.Try it, make several cubes in FSDS2, place them somewhere, select them using the select tool, and rotate them for example 20

Hi,I am attempting to make the gates on a new terminal addition to my scenery, move to the door of the aircraft when you taxi into position.How is this done?I have the terminal and the gates made in FSDS2.20, do I need to add veriabls to the part properties of the parts of the gate that move?(what vers?)A short, general, step by step thing would greatly help.Help me on this subject please. (cross-posted from gmaxsupport.com) I'm working on a scenery project for the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum, and I've run across a real animation challenge. The doors of the main hangar are the folding pocket door type found on larger hangars... has anyone figured out how to make a good door opening animation for this type of hangar? Right now each panel of the doors is a separate box and can be moved independently. As I understand it, in the real world version the innermost doors open first and then drag each successive panel along the track until the entire affair is folded into the pockets at the outermost ends. For the life of me, I can't conceive of how to do this in Gmax! …

Hi all. I hope someone can help me out here. I made a tower. Yeah!!! No, that's not it! I put a ball on top and checked dots and set it to beacon on. Now I get this nice little red blinking light. BUT.....I want to only see it at night. It lets you only pick one choice to make it appear the way you want it to. I noticed a section in the book called Display Conditions. It shows the Parts/Property window with a few conditional items. It has a Display when var. box, and then two windows: a V1 window and a V2 window. What can I put in those windows to have the light still be a blinking beacon at night, but not to be seen in the day? Thanks folks!Don

I am using ground2k and FS Scenery creator (FSSC)..For small scenery areas (typically an airport) I use FSSC. For the larger surrounding area I use Ground2k - roads, rivers, elevations and landclass. Unfortunatly many of the features of FSSC (particularly macros) are not available in Ground2k. While I can use a larger background template in FSSC to encompass the wider area it is not physiaclly sync'd with Ground2k. That is, to begin with Ground2k is not 100% accurate when using a background aerial photo. However, it is very close. The same thing applies to FSSC. The small errors in each adds up to a larger error when viewing FSSC macros near roads created by Ground2k. Si…

When I open a texture in GMax - either the UVW Editor or the bitmap preview in the Material Navigator - the texture is offset to the right. By that I mean a 20 to 30 pixel column from the right hand side of the bitmap has gone and is now present on the LEFT side of the bitmap.If I compose the mapping based on what GMax shows me then the object ends up with offset textures.An ealier thread suggested this was a PSP problem but I don't see any suggested cure. It's awful when your mind goes blank. In this case I am missing something obvious with GMax and I can't work out what..Object is built, material applied and it's converted to editable mesh. I've added the texure map, set the object to Unwrap UVW and picked out all the faces. These are all edited to fit and the end result looks good in GMax..Then I export to FS and there is no texture showing.. I've tried this several times now with different objects and bitmaps and the same blank result happens. So what have I forgotten folks?Bitmaps are square and I've tried DXT3, 8 bit, Alpha on and Alpha off but nothing works and I have no more hair to pull out. I've looked at all the …

I'm still messing around with DOD v3 and following my recent post I've got objects from the two libraries DIDL01 and DIDL02 moving quite nicely.However, I've found that the vehicles are the wrong scale (too small by 50%) and there's no way to change this so I've decided to make my own objects and import them via Dynkit.I know this is old technology but I'm not into GMax and I'm not inclined to get into BusyObjects which appears rather complex for my requirements.So far I've not managed to make anything of my own appear in my scenery - including the objects used in DIDL01/2 which I've located. The support email address for the Airport for Windows program is currently not working, due to email anti-spam programs, we think. Mail sent to [email protected] is returned as undeliverable. We're working to correct it, but in the meantime, please use:[email protected] [email protected] development continues modestly, with new features such as FSUIPC interface. In development are BGLC routines for shorelines and lakes. It's not the most powerful scenery designer, but it's still free, and offered as a low cost alternative to encourage all FS users to get into scenery design. With the use of reflective textures on aircraft, I am wondering if any buildings have been created with reflective textures. These textures seem to provide a good sense of realism for aircraft and was wondering if it would do the same for buildings. Screenshots would be nice if anyone has done this. Thanks all.
