The title pretty much says it all. I need any and every picture available of Lihue Airport, Kauai. Please don't bother telling me to search Google or something like that, because I've milked the internet of every picture containing the tiniest sliver of the airport. Pictures from vacations are great, aerial photos are excellent. Even better, if you are a pilot who flies to Lihue, you would be the greatest person in the world if you took some pictures next time you visit the airport and sent them to me. I'm trying to make a highly detailed and accurate scenery for the airport and the surrounding area, but it is very hard to determine the layout and "textures" of the airpor…

Hi all!I noticed a strange thing with .bgl files of LAGO's Venice scenery. There are ven_3.bgl and ven_9.bgl among other files.I decompiled them and:ven_3.bgl - LWM polysven_9.bgl - VTP2 linesI may be wrong, but isn't it wierd that Venice scenery files names look like they had been generated using Ground2K and that they even have the same type information in them?

Hi all! I have tried to use Gerrish's trees in COF, but no show. Not even the white boxes appear. I've tried putting the bgl and textures everywhere, and still nothing. Any clues or ideas? Thanks!Don

Hi folks,Hope you don't mind too much my beating up this dead ol' mare again ... ;-) I am speaking of the issue with a great many SCASM macros triggering builing crashes from 'viewpoint' rather than 'aircraft location'. When looking at the crash detection code in those macros, both the code and the issue look amazingly simple, don't they? I mean, look:; CRASH DetectionIfVarRange3( :NoCrash 37E -312 312 382 0 993 386 -501 501 )ReturnSetVar( 0284 14 ):NoCrash(The extra Return is my work-around in those cases when I'm not absolutely certain I won't screw something up by removing the code entirely... I don't speak SCASM too well I'm afraid!)Well, "obviously", 37E is the…

My brother was complaining my scenery which was done in 1.x was hitting framerates on his 800 mhz comp. I didnt notice on my 2.53. It does display ok, however. When I started looking at in mine, I was slewing around pretty fast, and found long pauses in slew mode when my scenery came into view. I remembered reading a post that aircraft done in 1.x dont display properly, but 2.x is ok. I opened my 1.x scenery up in 2.x, said yes when it wanted to remove invalid animation flags, and re-compiled in 2.x. My pauses in slew are gone, and he picked up 2 to 5 frames, depending on the scenery. Now the big question... the only scenery that I've uploaded is Spanaway airport. Not r…

Hi question for the FSDS V2 guru'si build scenery with the Architect (D pouk) and with the SCC, so when i compiled a macro (thet created with FSDS V2). i get a strange phenomenon, from some angle the macro is disapper. i wrote to abacus and i get this answer "I'd suggest he try using the latest SCASM. I don't think SCC is fully compatible with SCASM syntax." from Louis Sinclair so i tried the FSSE last version and the AIRPORT for windwos last version. and i gut the same result but only when i make from thes macro a stand alone BGL it looks O.K.ther is 2 screeshot please view it.i can i fix'd it thank's David

We are looking for a designer for FS2002 and 2004.We have two excellent aircraft painters but feel that the scenery is missing something. If you are interested in joining up in what I can say is the best VA out there. We have 45+ aircraft to choose from but no scenery to look at. So if you would like check us out at http://www.models-1.com/eagles/ and see what we have to offer. You can also send in a application to [email protected] if you like what you see.Randy WatsonPresident Eagle Air Charter

Hi! I'm still using FS2K2 - too much attached to it to abandon just yet! I've made a scenery with APt2.6 build 157. I've installed ramp lighting (LightsP1.api) but the ramp remains dark when the lights are on. I'm using the asphalt.r8 texture. The surface of the ramp lights up OK in the aircraft taxi and landing lights. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

FS2004 - roads appear to have associated with them a flatten for a few meters on either side of the road. This will eliminate roads at an angle traversing hillsides. Quite noticeable on the Pacific Coast highway in California. Checked out same in Pennsylvania also.Maybe (?) this will make using Ground2k less tedious to use in trying to represent sharp cuts through hillsides.Road placement continues, along with mesh, to be ok for general use but you really know it is not close to real.Dick KLBE:9

As pointed out by Gerrish there are some interesting items toward the end of the TERRAIN.CFG file. I don't fully understand them but I would guess that the current Autogen Tool may not work well, if at all. However, reading the info there seem to be new possibilities for "decorating" sceneries with Autogen that offer more control and more objects. As with many functions of any new release (especially Microsoft) there are changed or hidden functions that we know nothing about. Some "new functions" even anger us. Others remain hidden until a talented third party or MS reveals them. In the end, about a year from now, the secrets have all been revealed and we begin to see post…

I was wondering that since FS2004 reads the Runway, Taxiway, ILS data etc from the Scenery, what program(s) will give FS2004 what it needs?

Hi there,We know which layer it is (layer 4 in FS2002) and we know how to exclude it. I figured that it could be added in a similar way as we would make a lake. I was hoping that Ground2K could do it, but I'm not sure if the skirting can be added at all.Does anyone know how to add the skirting to an airport?- Martin

After updating my DirectX drivers into 9.0b, I have not been able to run FSDS2 v. 2.24 or 2.20 anymore. When starting FSDS2 I'll get following error message:DirectX Error(88760154); DirectX initialization failure. Solid rendering will not be available: Attempting to create Z-buffer. The operation to create a z-buffer in display memory or to perform a blit, using a z-buffer cannot be carried out because there is no hardware support for z-buffers.When pressing OK button in window which has above text, there will be error message:Fsdesign2 This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. As we all know the popularity of the Flight Simulator series owes its popularity, in part, to the work done by third parties producing either tools or end products. Without these contributions the market for this product would be largely limited to "walk-in" impulse buyers at various computer software stores. It seems to me that Microsoft has probably budgeted followup activity for the production of timely SDKs. One of the unfortunate elements of this process, in past releases, is the delay in the publication of the SDKs. People expend time trying to create tools or end-products that end up as easily produced once the knowledge within the SDK is revealed. Please Microsoft,…

Even if the question can seem strange, but my dictionary (I am Italian) it translates with the same meaning "coast" and "shoreline." Someone can explain what difference is among the two terms. Other question: in ground2k as they are created some lines of coast to precipice? Thanks to whom can kindly help me.

I have EOD, FSSC, AutoCAD, and GMax. Okay, I am creating a military base by adding more buildings and scenery to allow for VFR flying around it and will later add military AI aircraft to take off and land there. I am trying to make it detailed to a point of not killing frame rates. Now, this base has satellite dishes enclosed in giant spheres that resemble golf balls. I opened EOD and it doesn't allow you to create spheres or domes (could put two domes together), I quickly made something in AutoCAD to full scale, imported it via DXF into GMax, and now I am trying to make it into an API to insert into FSSC. My goal is just to get it into FSSC via the macro insertion c…

I'm transfering scenery projects from FS2002 to FS2004 and have run into a problem.I have many custom texture files that have one color set to completely transparent. This was done with FSDSV2. They all worked fine in FS2002.In FS2004, these same texture files don't show up at all. If I set the one color to partially transparent, they do show up, but the places where it should be clear, isn't.Does anyone know how to create texture files with one color transparent for FS2004??TIA:

Just a Quicky, GuysInteresting Times ahead, lots of politics floating aroundIn my scenery I use a Library Bgl, where would I place this, given the textures for the Library used to be in the default texture directory and 'scenery' directory has replaced 'DBScenery' May be others have been using local Scenery directories for Library Bgl's and Textures, which now looks like 'Addon Scenery', Although I believe a new trend is to keep Scenery files seperate from Fs directory Structure.Any discusion on SubDirectory's regarding Scenery/Afd.bgl's, because things seemed to have changedhope someone can helpRegardsDave

I use the SDK tools in the usual way to create a bgl that contains the terrain mesh and custom generic textures (this is now incorporated into AutoAsm). It works fine in FS2002 but not in FS2004. When I try to load the scenery in FS2004 two things happen:1. The scenery load process takes about five minutes (normally about 40 seconds).2. The terrain appears correctly. The custom generic textures appear but they are *totally* blurred (possibly the lowest mip map resolution). I re-made the bgl with terrain mesh only. The load time is normal and the terrain appears correctly with the default generic textures. I made another test scenery and this showed exactly the same prob…
