No matter if the exclude is compiled in a bgl or written in the scenery.cfg, Navaids like ILS are not being excluded. This seems to be happening at all sceneries that by chance don't have their runways matching the default ones. Is it just me or can someone confirm this problem? Any solutions?

Hi Folks,I have a question in regards to making a light object flash in a timed sequence, say to represent morse code, dashes and dots. The light object would have to be able to flash separately of any other light object. These would have to be single light objects, not multiple in line light objects. I will be using them in FS2002 and I use FSDSv2 as my modeling program, but I do know how to use Gmax. I want to use them as signaling devices to identify a location on a route. Please let me know if you have any ideas on this, cause I have been trying to make some things work, but am getting nowhere. Thanks again for all the help, I love this forum.Take care,John Williams

Well, I think I already fiddled around with sceneries, back in the days of Airport 2.1 and FSASM some years ago, what I'd like to know, what has changed? E. g. is SCASM still current and does it support FS9, I heard about BGLC, what is that? Is there any (beginners) tutorial how to make sceneries which are 'up to date' in the sense of being 100% FS8/FS9 compatible? Thanks,Etienne

Hi all. Here's what I found for the default layers:Streams and Utility easements are layer 4.Railroad lines are layer 5.Road lines are layer 6.APBs ( airport background polys ) and VTP2 bridges are layer 7.Shorelines are layer 8.So the layering is:shorelines, over apbs, over roads, over rails, over streams and utility paths.I've also seen there is a priority of streams over utlity paths, even though they are the same layer... I think this is due to the fact that utility paths don't actually have a layer, but adjust the landclass groundtile to display the path. Also, the VTP2 bridges are obviously over all lines... but they are objects. I have not tested all bridges but I t…

Hi all, im slowly getting my head around scasm code and thks to a post by bob5569 i have managed to create an exclusion BGL to remove an object in an addon software ( payware ) i have installed as it is incorrect but i do not know how to create the BGL file without having to place it in a scenery folder at a higher priority than the Orig addon scenery, i have NOT modified any code from the addon scenery that i am trying to eliminate.can someone please advise me of the code syntax to create the Exclusion BGL file that will work at any scenery priority level or does it allways havto be at a higher priority, i have read the scasm notes often and cannot see the wood for the t…

Hello all! I've run into a slight road block on a scenery I'm working on and would be very greatful if someone might be able to enlighten me on my question. :)I'd like to be able to make a specific ground poly show based on a given set of dates inside FS. My hope is to then be able to have airfields change as time goes by based on the date set inside the simulator. I'm using Architect to place the poly. I experimented with API's, but found the use of the Architect "photo-grid" to give very good and steady appearance from many angles and distances. I've included a sample of the text code and am wondering if a scasm code can be entered to give a specific time the poly will …

Hi there,Ok, this is "not" a scasm-related question that I see throughout the forums. My question is on the excluding of airport skirting. "Skirting" refers to the grassy area that surrounds most default airports. Using Ground2K we were able to remove this skirting from default airports in FS2002, since it didn't always match our design needs. Has anyone been able to remove this? My Ground2K rivers and streams are fine, it's just the exclude that I am having problems with.My sceneries are otherwise fine - there's some small details for me to work out due to the fact that some airports have moved a few meteres, but this will be easy to fix. - Martin

In Ground2K, and possibly other programs, the new road exclude layer for FS2004 is six(6). Have not yet determined if the other items also have moved to a new layer. Dick KLBE

I changed the file reference to FS9.used the Scenery Library Manager to install my Scenery BGL, Landclass BGL, and finally the Exclude BGL as I always have done many times in FS2002. Exclude BGL at a priority lower than the other two.I restart FS2004 and there is absolutely no change. No new roads, landclass or exclusions. Shuffling the BGLs in the Scenery Library Manager has no effect. Then tried a new road and noticied that no texture appeared in the Texture Preview window. Looks like some things have moved.Anyone have a quick fix or do we await Christian making modifications?Dick KLBE

Hi,I am trying to compile a library bgl from gmax.I use: FSRegen v0.31, latest version of makemdl and BGLC ver 8.0 (from bgl compiler sdk). Everything goes well, .asm files are created, I succesfully create the library source file but when I check the "compile to bgl" button I allways get the BGLC dos window warning: "Relocations found in xxx.$$$ Output may be invalid". (it is!)I had studied every tip and tutorial available, I double checked everything, I tried with or without middleman/mdlcommander, tried with a simple cube object in two different pc's with winXP and win2000, no help! Any ideas?Korber

Gentlemen,COF is installed and active on my machine but a few questions have come up. When I install "Airport for Windows" scenery, the exclude files exclude new as well as default scenery. Any ideas?More autogen scenery available but at a significant framerate hit.

My FS 9 install went OK but I think some of my texture files are not properly converted to turn black into transparent......all my trees for example have a black square around them, as do my strobe lights, making the sim unusable.I am buried under a million problems in the other Forum.Anyone have a suggestion to check this out?....what about the people who install this out of the box and don't even know there are flightsim forums, let alone alpha channels, blah, blah? I have already tried swapping the old FS2002 treessu.bmp map into FS9 with no change the trees are still black.I have looked at the files with DXT1BMP and they both look the same except that the FS9 file i…

I ahve been trying to create lights with fsregen. All attempts have been failures. I have all the files necessary, tried about 20 different ways, and nothing seems to work. Do I need to something special in gmax besides make my single triangle? I am not naming it anything special in gmax either, just like the manual says not to do. Someone please help. Thanks.

I am looking for a FS2002 compatible program which can create 'flight timing gates', which are like like frames in the sky with a crosshair in the middle. The first version of 'Aircraft & Scenery Designer' (which worked with FS4) allowed you to create these gates and included an algorithm which gave a performance score based on how well you flew through the gates. Does anyone know of such a program??? I need this to create a task for my Masters thesis, which is investigating the effects of time-compression and workload on learning a simulated flight task. Thank you;[email protected]

I have a project that covers an LOD5 line (shows up as a red line in G2K). When I try to change the landclass in areas on both sides of the line, I get two LCxxx_yyy.raw files (with names related to the respective LOD5 areas) instead of one, but only one FicRaw.Raw and one TmpLC.inf. Using Dick's (rhumbaflappy's) batch file (see post "Ground2K-Landclass??) to generate the bgls, I tried using the same Fic and TmpLC files with each of the LCxxx_yyy.raw files in turn and end up with two bgls, but when viewed in FS2002, the landclass doesn't change in either of the LOD5 areas. It all works fine if the landclass is only changed in one LOD5 area and you only end up with one …

Gotta quick question here. Are there any programs out there that make it relatively easy to add static aircraft to FS2K2? I checked out Lago FSSE and it looks nice, but it has a limited amount of objects. I would like to use my own objects...ie. the correct aircraft types for the airport. I created and uploaded a static aircraft package for the Norway 98 scenery back in 1998 and would like to start doing some more in FS2K2 for various airports. Any help would be appreciated.Cheers,Mark Normington

Looking for someone to remake, or create new the Outagamie (Appleton) airport, home of Air Wisconsin Airlines. There is currently an fs98 version, but I would like to get an fs2k2 version to keep things current. If you're willing to do it, please email me at [email protected] Rayhttp://members.rushmore.com/~glavirtualhttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/26345.jpg

Hi,i have a problem with Ground2K. I worked with it for a while an everything was fine, even if changing to nighttime. Short bevor finishing the new scenery for hamburg (germany) i tried to change to dawn and FS2002 crashes. Every *.bmp i use is in dxt and mipmap-mode and during daytime everything works fine.........I do not now, if the problem starts, when i changed to the new Ground2K version 4.....?I use WinXP with directX 8.1. Does anyone have an idea??ThanksDirk

I have a project open in G2K. I select a poly without shore and under Line/shore select layer 7 (although this shouldn't make any difference?). I set VTP 1-2 layer to 7. I select VTP1/Poly, OK, then draw the polygon. I make up a project folder with scenery and texture subfolders and place it in "my added scenery" in FS2002. I put a 256x256 bitmap in the texture folder then use imagetool to convert it to DXT1 format (without mipmaps).Back in G2K I assign the texture to the polygon and move it around to completely cover the polygon. I generate the bgl's and get a xxxx_7.bgl which I put in my project "scenery" folder in FS2002.I start FS2002 and activate the scenery, bu…

Hi there,I've been using Ground2K to add some river/lakes/streams to my scenery. Everything was going fine, and I was very pleased with the results, until I received this error message. I am not sure what caused it, but the effect on my scenery is obvious, as some of the lakes and rivers don't look right anymore.Ground2K creates "_9" and a "_3" files, which I believe relates to a VTP2 river and a LWM files acccording to the docs. I am creating an exclude BGL, which seems to compile correctly, since it is already created before the error message pops up. I probably don't know enough about BGLC to tear apart the code, and I don't want to bother anyone to do it for me, b…
