I know one can use Autogen to define sections of individual tiles, but I am sure they did not edit each individual tile when placing autogen. We are going to be getting a program that will allow us to use TerraScene to create our near photo quality BMP files using LULC, Land Class, and Shape File Data to create very accurate files, is there or will there be a method to define Regen based on Defined Texture? I know one can use Ground2K and trace roads Lakes and rivers. I had no problem in FD2002 creating my entire state and sourounding area with water/lake efects but no Autogen. One knows there are thousands of BMB files in just 1/4 Degree tile. I for one know it would tak…

I have for a while worked on changing the shoreline with LWM and VTP2.This worked fine in FS2002 and it looks good in 2004.But when I try to open the map in 2004 it crashes :(I wonder if this is a problem with my scenery or FS2004?Has anyone else experienced this?

I think I might just have deciphered the new version 3 flatten command for FS9. There are 2 new features that could indicate that sloping runways are possible in FS9!I found that each polygon entry starts with 2 rather than just 1 height values. And each point now has a 3rd component that mostly seems to be set to zero (still have to find non-zero values). However, this may indicate a xyz point and could possibly mean that points can be set to different heights. This would obviously mean that sloping runways are possible in FS9.Still have to confirm this though...Christian

Hello all,Is there a way to remove a section of a default road on FS2004? I am recreating an airport and the road is too close to the runway compared to it's real life counterpart... Thanks for any help...Efrain RuizPS. Take a look at the image below, you see the green stript of grass that the red arrow is pointing to? That is the default grass skirt from FS2004. Can I manually change this to reflect the correct outline?http://www.aavirtual.com/screenshots/tarmac.jpg

HeyThere is a weird problem with the FISD Helsinki City 2.0 scenery in FS2004. The buildings seem to remove the autogen from the city area. I have tried to remove one bgl-file at a time, but every building seems to remove its own part of the autogen. Now to the really strange part... The autogen seems to work perfectly if the default starting airport is assigned as EFHK or EFHF (airports in Helsinki). Does anyone know what could cause this problem..? We are currently making a patched version of the scenery for FS2004, that fixes other problems, but we haven't found any solution for this autogen problem.. :(Best Regards,Alex LundqvistFISD scenery designer http://fisd.fsnor…

Hi allIs there any way to edit, or remove the default taxiways on the apron at an airport in FS2004?I am revising my Cairns Airport scenery for fs2004 and the default Apron markings are "very" innacurate, so much so that it will be almost impossible to create realistic gate positions for the domestic terminal.any ideas on the best way to go about removing the default apron lines and creating some new lines?all help would be much appreciated.regardsdaryl

hi folks-i've had something strange happen and i'm hoping you guys can help me out.i have been building some simple scenery for the past few months and i've had pretty good success overall.part of the scenery is a telephone pole [for simplicity's sake] with a light just above the top of the pole.i created this in one set of scenery by making a small sphere and applying a material in gmax and naming that material LIGHT_NAV. then positioning the sphere just above the top of the pole.this creates a simple point light with the color of the diffuse part of the material. it wasn't perfect but it did what i needed.now, i'm building another set of scenery and i'm even re-using th…

Me again:photoreal seems to be a popular topic these days ;-)I have found a suitable compromise for using photoreal and (partial) autogen in FS9 but can't get the same setup to work in FS2002 (I'd like to keep backward compatibility). Any ideas what might be the issue? Here's how I do it in FS9: placed custom slices on the ground via SDK resample (with alpha-masked water; all files in local scenery/texture folder); VTP2 polys (layer 20, texture #253) in several areas where I wanted to have autogen (no custom texture slices, just the custom-tile named .agn files made with Annotator, placed in FS9SceneryWorldtexture); also LWM polys with fixed elevation that roughly trace sh…

Hi All,I am creating an airport terminal building replacement(kewr) with jetways. As it stands now, I have created and placed many jetways through gmax. The framerate is still ok but I'd like to tweak it a little. Is there any advantage to placing jetway api's through fssc or airport? Or will the hit on frames still be the same? There will be around 100 gates. Placing the gates through gmax was easy... macros look time consuming. I'm a novice at this so let me know if you need more info. Thanks in advance for the advice.

  15. I decided to be a little more realistic with the scope of my first project and moved to a small valley area just northwest of KROA (instead of trying to do the whole Roanoke Valley+ KROA as I had planned - maybe later). There is a small grass strip there (VA85 -"New Castle International Airport" - I'm not making this up), a small town and a creek/river; so I thought it would make a good test bed.I'll have to say I'm pleased with the results so far. Getting close to blending in the colors with the default textures. This seems to be more a function of the image brightness as much as color.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/39401.jpgYou can see the Roanoke valley in the d…

I created some scenery using ground2k in the days of MSFS2002...It displayed fine but when i try to use it in MSFS2004 there are a couple of rather large issues...and they are stopping me from posting out the scenery.1. Firstly, there is now Autogen trees and powerlines over the taxiways and runway.2. The textures that are not displaying correctly are crops and grass etc, and they look fine during the day but at night...they seem to revert to texture with lights all over them...attached is a snapshot from the day and then same shot at night...see how the grass has lights on it at night!Has anyone else encountered this when using scenery created for MSFS2002? Or better sti…

Software:EZ-landclass v2.00WinXP home, norwegian, decimal set to "."Problem 1: when I reload the scenery in FS2002 with my landclass activated it corrupts and has to restart.Problem 2: i can only change the lc-scenery once, the next times i modify and restarts fs2002 the scenery does not change. Only way out of that is to change the filename of the BGL. Cache for the LC-layer is deactivated.

Create a simple 2 box model in GMAX, 1 box has a photo texture, the other a flat color. (this was done for experimental purposes)2. Export this with MakeMdl, Keeping files.3. Open FSregen/Library Compiler and use "create API" button4. Use Airport For Windows to place my API in my existing scenery5. Compile the BGL, place it in my Add On Scenery folder6. As a basball fan and a Eastern Pilot, I would love to see someone come up with a "Field Of Dreams" scenery add on for the plain State of Iowa. The movie web site has some pictures that may help in designing. I did find a landing strip in North Caralina named 'field of dreams', but there was nothing there but a grass strip. I sure hope someone reads this and makes this into a virtual reality. :-halo

Hi,I have made lots of lighthouses for fs2002 in Gmax which I was pleased with and have been poular. The lights were LIGHT_LAND and animated to rotate which gave just the desired effect of a slow flash like the real thing. The problem is, in fs2004 they have changed the way LIGHT_LAND is displayed and now the lights dont have a shining point of light that is visible from a distance anymore, they only illuminate objects and the ground area in front of the light.I want a nice simple way (I wish) to make the lights shine again ( there are 50 or so bgls to edit ), any ideas anyone ?:-sun1
