  1. I wanted to make the air strip in FS2004 look more like the real bush strip that I fly into, so I added about a hundred tree macros. I made 2 polygon trees, like the ones that FS9 uses, in FSSDesign but my frame rate dropped dramatically. Is there a better way to add lots of trees without affecting the frame rate so badly? Thanks

    I seem to spend a lot of my time scouring the FS sites in the hope of finding some decent scenery for Malta (the island not Luqa airport).There have been some pretty good attempts for previous versions of FS, but nothing so far for FS2004.Most of the other Mediterranean islands have been covered by commercial and freeware designers, but not Malta.I appreciate the fact that textures representing the dry rocky terrain are probably not easy to simulate, but anything would be an improvement on MS's effort.Just thought I'd mention it in case someone in the know was looking for a project. :)

    I'm trying to add back country runways to FS 2004. So far I have succeeded in creating the runways. Now I want to create facilities data so they runways appear on the map. My attempts have failed and I would like some guidance.My procedure is: o Create a table of back country runway information. o Process this was a program I wrote to produce SCASM input files describing the runways. o Compile the SCASM. o Install, fly, and land.To add airport facilities I changed my program to also produces a seperate SCASM input file with definitions of airport facilities.     I gotta credit MS with giving us a great sim, it really does look great. BUT, there are a couple of annoying issues. Foremost of them is the issue with textures and I hope someone can be of help. I've been flying in the sim to some islands including Providenciales (MBPV), Grand Cayman (MWCR) and Guatemala City (MTGG) to name a few and I've noticed that the trees (which arent even native to the area have FALL textures on them! The ground textures are somewhat fall like too. Guatemala manages to include some green palm trees but it looks strange mixed with the fall leaves on the other trees.     Hi allI am trying to remove the default buildings in order to place custom made ones in their place in FS2004.I use the old technique of editing the scenery.cfg file by hand...and have no problem removing buildings in one area. But the problem is that I have to remove buildings on both sides of the runway but I want to keep the default runway and taxiways....for some reason I can't get the second exclude area to remove the buildings....here is the exclude file that works...Exclude=S16 52.27,E145 45.13,S16 52.63,E145 45.41,objectsHow would I include this further exclude area..??S16 53.14,E145 45.02,S16 53.21,E145 45.08regardsdaryl

I've just been working a problem that has been discussed before, that of wanting to add land where there is no default land class.Reading several posts and tuts, but all dating back to fs2k2, I've attempted to add a 1x1 of landclass, yet no display, and I've attempted several ways that seemed like it would work...but no.     I'm green with envy for all the folks able to use Bob Bernstein's Harvey Field (Snohomish, WA) scenery add-on for FS2000. I live fairly close to the real Harvey Field and want to (eventually) use it as my home field, after pilot training. For now (and well before I can get a vintage Aeronca Champ or Piper Cub), all I have is my WA sim fun, with a PIII 450 with TNT2 card.     Hi all.First let me tell you what I tried to do.GOAL: Create taxiways,parking areas, and ILS/GlidePath/DME for the airport named: 12NC (Atlantic MCOLF) located in North Carolina/USA.NOW..............the original 12NC airport had three runways. It had no AFT other then a single entry for arrivals. The longest runway of the three was not the one I wanted to use for traffic.     I know I wrote pertaining to this before....but, whats the best way to change radio frequencies for overlays. For example...I have 3 overlays for KORD...and they all use the same clearence Del. freq. So if im sitting at the gate...I can't get time to radio for clearence. All the aircraft are calling in.     I'm really close to releasing version 2 of the Coronado Bridge. I have got the light poles in, and it looks good at night. I need them to be off in the daytime. I've read the info in the forums, but have had no success using fsregen. I have the latest version (3.0?) and am working straight from the SDK makemdl. I export with the save files option checked. When I open the file I'm told it cannot be used-already been processed. Is there a way to edit the .asm file directly & then recompile without fsregen?Robert

  16. Hello,I want to add some new airports to the airport directory but how is it possible to do that? The SCASM-Code (2.90) about AFD is not supported by FS2004 and AFCAD only gives the ability to change airports.I don't know if it would be ok if I go a step back and create old locations (Add-On Scenery) in FS98-style...Sasa

    I am trying to create usable api's with the Easy Object Designer Programme. The api and scm files along with the necessary textures are all created and when I put them in either FSSC or Aiport for Windows 2.6 they are all visible. However, when I export my scenery I get an error message saying that the api's cannot be found. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?Thanks in advance. Colin

    I am an active duty C-5 Pilot.I am interested in finding someone who is willing to create a freeware application that can take NIMA (national imagery and mapping agency) data: Georectified imagery and Digital Terrain Elevation Data, and convert it to MSFS scenery files.The application is a desktop simulator that allows us to practice approaches at unfamiliar fields for which we have terrain and imagery data.     The shadow cast from my bridge is wrong. Here's a pic...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/44663.jpgThe supports extend well below the waterline, with one adjusted so that it's length is correct(no change). I have noticed that the shadows from the supports seem to move based on my position, and not that of the sun, while the bridge deck appears to look like it should. Strange...Robert
