Hello,I've been playing with ground2k4 this evening with the intention of creating some scenery Lancashire/Ribble estuary area in NW England.I've pretty much sussed out road generation and am also getting to grips with coastline generation. My current problem though is with landclass generation. I've created two landclass tiles and clicked on the "BGL Generation" button. A raw file is generated as per the documentation but no bgl file. I've renamed the .raw extention to .bgl but this leads to an error upon startup related to fs2004 running out of memory.I've read the documentation and there seems to be no clue as to what to do here. The file parameters are for the raw …

Hi all.In an earlier post, I suggested an INC that would allow us to create LWMs in the FS9 style. That INC seems to work fine:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/50476.jpgLWM3.inc:; LWM3.inc; --------------------------------------------------------------------------------LWMPoly3 Macro PointCount, Reserved, Attrib, HeightStart, FractionStart, HeightEnd, FractionEnd; BYTE bPointCount:6 ; // Up to 62 points; BYTE bReserved:1 ; // Must be 0; BYTE bAttrib:1 ; // Polygon fill attribute, 0 = water, 1 = land BYTE ( Attrib * 80h ) + ( Reserved * 40h ) + PointCount SWORD HeightStart ; // Whole elevation value in meters BYTE FractionStart ;…

As a panel developer, I have been contacted by a company for the development of 2 panels for Airbus A330 and B757.I am looking for a graphic designer who can help me, especially for the panel background images. This work would be paid by a percentage of the money I would get from this company. If you're interested, you can contact me directly:mailto:[email protected]

HelloI am wondering what is the layer of the texture that represents the Grass underneath the default airports in 2k4? I use DefArea to exclude them and I succeeded back in FS2002 by using layer 4 as mentioned in 2k2 SDK however now it seems that the layer changed as it does not exclude it anymore in 2k4... Did anyone find out the apropriate layer for the default airport grass texture in DefArea? My second question is related to the AI traffic sinking in the ground of my airport. The player airplane sits well on the surface of the airport however the AI sink in the ground. Does it have to do with the physical flatten poly or with the AFCAD altitude? I changed the AFCAD but…

Hi!I was just experimenting with creating an own mesh scenery using the great tool "srtm to bgl" and now I want to design a white area on the FS-map. The aeropuerto de Rurrenabaque in the Amazonas basin in Bolivia. The problem is that the placement of the airports by MS in South America is much worse than in the US and Europe. After creating the Mesh the airport is located directly in some mountains closeby to the basin. It should be easy to exclude this airfield and to lay some new vtp2 polygons over the old area but the problem is the mesh. I could use some flattens to get the old area to the right elevation but that would have a bad effect on the mountains.I know that it…

Hi I have a problem that is slowly driving me round the bend.I am using Ground2K4 v5.1 and I am starting to get problems. The size of the LWM file is at 3,895K and still growing but nearly there.Using WinXp Prof 512 Meg memThe things I get are.1 While compilling, system crashed back to reboot or sometime just a message to say That an error has occured and Ground2K4 will have to close. Have checked the error log and this is what it records."Faulting application ground2k4.exe, version 5.1.0.0, faulting module oleaut32.dll, version 3.50.5014.0, fault address 0x00002b65."2. Some times while compiling, the progress box stops updating but everything compiles correctly.( the sto…

I am doing a new version of a stock MS FS2004 airport. My version has a smaller clear-cut area around the perimeter. As a result there is an area between my exclude area and the general landscape textures. By looking at it, it seems like a semi-transparent overlay over the general landscape textures.Does anybody know how I can get rid of this semi-transparent stock texture ?Thanks

Not sure if this belongs in the AFCAD /TTools forum but here goes:I am having a great time with the new AFCAD and TTtools for FS2004, all the small airfields can now have AI traffic, circuits etc. (even when they are surrounded by hills!) a great improvement on 2002.Now here's the problem, I have a runway which is about 200ft longer than the stock item, its a small strip and the AI planes have no problem backtracking and taking off properly (better than 2002), but I cannot persuade them to turn at the new longer runway, they still turn where the old runway finished.Tried exclude files (Defarea from Christian Fumey doesn't list a layer for runways) and moving start points …

Hi all:you might have heard about (or experienced yourself) strange FS9 crash-to-desktop errors at certain airports that only happen during the transitional seasons (when patchy snow appears on the ground), e.g., since Nov 21. These CTDs have been reported by users of add-on meshes, such as FSGenesis and LAGO, at airfields in Europe and North America. It turns out that at least one of my add-on mesh files (bcmesh9d.zip) triggers this type of CTD, at Castlegar. If you have that file installed, try starting a flight at CYCG between Nov 21 and Dec 21 during daylight hours and you'll see what I mean.Earlier today, I managed to fix the same type of error for Sion, Switzerland …

I put em into Plugins folder the MakeMDL and FSModelExp.dle for export them to BGL....I can do anything, I just want to is configure and let it run... For example, I make a cube. and when I would like to export, and save first like CUBE.BGL. and showme up the MakeMDL, insert the coordinates and then start. and appears a cartel said...... I'm working on coastal Florida and it's flat. People from Florida can get mountain sickness in Kansas. But there are some terrain elements that need to be represented. I'm considering using GMax for some of these. Some examples:Causeways. The barrier islands are often connected to the mainland by a series of bridges that connect small keys, spits, and sandbars. Because these are hurricane evacuation routes they are usually built up quite high but they are long and narrow and unsuitable for mesh. The bridges are then built at grade level. (no ramps up and down)There is a large landfill that stands about 150 feet highThe central airport I'm working on has two huge no…

Hi allok, hit another problem. I was updating a texture on my terminal api that I made ages ago, created the api and tried to compile the scenery (compiler used was FreeSC) and it comes up with an offset too far on line 21. what exactly does this mean? I don't understand because it worked fine before.hmm maybe i should just redesign the terminal anyway, wasn't totally happy with it anyway. but I would really like to know whats going wrong here.cheersShaun

Hello allI have made an animated 'light_taxi' wich work as sequenced flashing light in a custom approach light system at a couple of my airports. This light do of course light up the ground the same way as aicraft do (as long as show landing light option in FS2004 is enabled). What I wish i could do is to edit the BGLC code to remove the ground texture. Does anyone of you talents know if this is possible, and what code to look after. I'm not very experienced with these types of modifications and what to look for.By the way - Take a look at this video I've made which also shows the animated 'light_taxi': http://trd.airpics.com/div/rr_endu_enhf.wmvhttp://home.online.no/~kjb…

Using the newest TDFCalc (November). The QMID numbers - I enter them into TMF Viewer and have blank screen?Numbers shown=17 , 18BGL_ID - Is there any cross reference as to what the first two letters of the FS2004 BGLs represent? Ex. ab917180.bglThe TMF Viewer remains a bit of a mystery since when I enter lat lon I get somthing like the following. Not sure how to interpert?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/49816.jpgI faintly remember that TMF Viewer shows the lat lon but not shown for me. I don't use this stuff that often so if there are instructions for TMF Viewer that would be nice. Looks like the SDK has none.Dick Boley KLBE

I think it is time for a nice discussion about the influence of different SCASM command on the frames :).I made a remark about a little optimalization test I have done in another thread and Gerrish made the good suggestion to make a separate thread for it, so here it is.The test I did was with some hangars from Schihpol. These had been designed by a collegue from the NL2000 team and they seemed to have a bigger framehit then the parts I had handcoded in SCASM (or now in GMax). So I had a look at his files and I noticed he had a lot of separate parts. Therefore I asked him to join as much parts as possible, as that would reduce the amount of points in FSDS1 (and thereby mak…

At the mouth of Tampa bay where the Sunshine Skyway bridge should be MS has one of those autogen bridges that ends in the middle of the bay. How do I get rid of it so I can put in a decent replacement? I tried a standard exclude to no avail.

Hi,I heard a month ago, that Rhumba was planning a landcalc 2004.Has it been released???Sorry for asking stupid, but i have been away for sometime and i cant find it, then i thought that landcalc2004 could have been posted here in the forum and not in the file libary.Do anyone have a template to create a single VTP2 "photoreal" cell, i have one for fs2002 but since the VTP1 dont work in fs2004, there is no need to use the old one in fs2004.Chris DK

I am attempting to use Coastline Maker to create LWM polygons to overlay lakes onto the VFR Photographic Scenery. I have created a merged bit map showing the grid from CellGrid overlayed onto the photographic scenery lake outline. The next step is to digitise the lake edge but it is obviously not convex. See:In the instructions for Coasline Maker, under Caveats and Limitations it states that LWM polygons should be convex in shape. However, the next graphic shows a "comma" shaped lake which is obviously not convex. Can someone explain how this was constructed.George

Hello all,Ok all you scenery guys . . . How about someone working up the Jackson - Meridian Mississippi area, in particular, Meridians Key Field, KMEI, (MEI) and the Meridian Naval Air Station. It sure does look lonley without some great scenery. When Lago's scenery enhancer worked on FS I had a full AGN base there as there is in real life and the NAS was packed . . . unfortunately, I don't do 'real' scenery very well.Any takers?Best to all,Clayton T.
