    Hi Friends. It would be very great to have jetwash in FS but still there is no idea about this. By know I am working on a new FX file that works very like a jet wash but it is not realistic at all. So do you have any idea about this? Maybe a new Module!:-hmmmThanks:-)Touradg

    Don't know much about this one but I found some very interesting and maybe to those who know areas in G2D.dll in the modules folderusing resource hacker. "ResHacker.exe" Maybe possible to change or understand better bumpmapping effect . Just a thought Cheers Greg

    I have used this tool many times and prefer it to an exclude line in the config file as it makes it possible to remomove particular items in the default scenery without wiping out a large error. The problem is that I can't get it to load consistantly. Sometimes it works for a while, other times it I get an error message whan I click on the Application Icon..."can not load from file".Any Ideas?I like to make gmax building to replace defult ones and need this utility or something similar.Thanksrellek

    Hi all,I'm back again for a little help.I've created an island with poly with shore (LWM).After i've add inside the island a VTP2 poly with a little elevation to create a little hill on island and i've assigned an appropriate landclass.My question is , i'would like that sorround the hill appear the same landclass as hill.I've tried to change the LWM to vtp2 but the isle desappear.There's a solution to assign to entire island the same LC or i must cover the lwm with many vtp2 poly ?Hope you understand my question ...My english is very ashamed......Thanks Roberto - Italy

    Hi,I've been trying to display my own texture with autogen and I got no results. I want to make a VPT polygon with texture of some generic city for my VFR Scenery of Czech republic.I can not use CUSTOM ( 253 or 252 ) value, that is for photosceneries, because it requies one texture for each covered Area.I can use generic landclass textures with, but they are flipped and autogen don't fit.I can also my own generic texture, but it does not show autogen.So I came out with following workaround, that realy works.There is a way how to do it:1) Make a flipped copy of each urban or suburban file that you want to use as VPT polygon.     hi dear people,Recently someone uploaded in the Avsim library new exchange textures to replace the horrible bare/flat "shrubs" default textures. The pics were ment for FS2002 but they work perfectly in 2004 too. They were summer textures only, so, i even tinted them yellow-reddish with Photoshop and renamed them to take place of the default fall shrubs textures. Since it all went fine I started to 'plant' trees in them with the "Annotator" program. It all worked well. However when i try to plant trees along the default rivershore, road, highway, etc bitmaps, trees don't appear...anyone know why and how can i make trees appear along roads just as telegraph polls appear a…

    Hi all, looking for a recap, perhaps an update to the August discussion on vtp polygons in fs9. At that time folks were talking about vtp2 polygons with custom textures crashing the sim at night...and vtp1 polygons not working.I'm just now experimenting with this type of design...so I made a point of learning to work with vtp polygons this weekend. VTP1 polygons did not display, which matches with the august discussion. VTP2 with custom texture using format of dxt1 + alpha showed with a black rather than transparent area. VTP2 with custom texture using indexed (8bit) color and setting one color to transparent (and making a copy of the texture named ...sp....fa....etc)…

    I have just loaded Alan Wheeler's California Coast scenery, which puts taxiway signs on a number of small fields. However, all the signs appear with just a white face on the active side. I have the same problem on a taxiway signs add-on for KSJC. Am I missing some texture files? Where do I find them?Alan credits Taxiwaysigns.com for the signs.Any suggestions would be gratefully received.Keith

    Hi All,Just started using Ground2K and just generated a set of roads around an airport. Afterwards, everything looks great except that I now have a string of power poles crossing the field from the hangars, across the taxiways and runways. AI pilots are starting to scream about the one in the middle of the active, right on the numbers. I realize that these are autogen in FS2004 and are directly connected to the roads that I put in but the question is, how do I keep them off of the airport property? Is there a LandClass value for these? If it helps, all roads are at level 33. Al

    Is there an easy way to exclude everything in an LOD 8 Area? It is very tedious doing it by each LOD13 cell using Ground2K.I am trying to revise the area around my hometown using Ground 2K and the default scenery is so far off that I just want to remove it and start over on the whole area.Frank

    Hi,I was trying to make an island on the ocean with Ground2k as a way to get used to the programme (Merci Christian!). I went to the Area Atributes tool and set Fillx1/LWM as Land. I made this on 4 adjacent Areas. Then I used the LandClass Tool and chose a "ground type" landclass on the same region (on a vertex of the Areas).I would expect to see some land at this stage but I do not see! I only see water!If I go on and use the River/Road/Lake tool, I make a line and define it as "Poly with Shore" ... and I see the shore around the island, the autogen trees, but the island ground is WATER (the trees appear on water).     Does anyone know of a good Gmax 1.2 Texture tutorial? All the ones I have read / tried are confusing me !! All I want to do is place a section of a bitmap onto the side of a hanger that I have created. When I go into the edit uvw window I only have a 3 sided polygon to move around, and the side of my hanger has 4 edges, so the texture becomes distorted and does not align.Any help in finding a good simple texture tutorial would be appreciated.Cheers from a very frustrated Jon !!!

    Is there any program that you can use to create scenery, in which all you need to do is put in the co-ordinates of the area you want to design, or load up a preexisting BGL that you want to modify or something, and all you have to do is click an 'add' button and you can add taxiways or buildings onto the scenery.easy no frills way..or maybe someone can explain to me how to do it with a different program..All i really want to do is add buildings and objects to a default fs2k4 airfield...but i dont want to become highly confused..

    I've just finally gotten my first terrain mesh working. It's a remesh of the area surrounding KRDG using the SRTM 30 arc second data. It looks great overall, but now I'm noticing that several small airfields near KRDG are exhibiting the "plateau/crater" phenomenon due to having flatten altitudes that are incompatible with the new mesh. Is there an accepted method for changing the airfield elevations to make them blend in better with the new mesh?thanks,

    If you want to design scenery that has a lot of detail, but is also framerate friendly, there is no way around LOD (level of detail) models. The theory behind LOD models is to use several models of different detail, and displaying one of the models depending on how far you are away. If you are very close FS2002 should display a very detailed model, so you can see all the detail. When the you are far away, the model is much smaller on the screen, due to the perspective, and you can't see all that detail (on top of that the scene gets rendered to pixels, which only give a limited resolution). So drawing a detailed model would be wasted computing / rendering power. It makes …

    I have been reading the autogen SDK on how to change autogen scenery but I dont know how to find the file I want to change. I am trying to create a missing town in FS. I am new to this scenery creating hobby, but I have managed to use coastlinemaker to make the coastline and the roads like they are supposed to be, I have made some buildings in Gmax but now I like to autogenerate the rest of the town if possible.

    I have been using CoastLine Maker V2 in FS2002, have downloaded and installed the FS2004 patch but I cannot get a couple of things in FS2004/FS9.For one, I no longer get LWM Polygon cell address numbers even though I have the new CellGrid 2004 installed. In addition, the red lines are weak when you take the screen save photos. Secondly, when I do generate a file for VTP points, everything appears to be normal, no errors and an 'asm' file is generated. Looking at the asm file does not show a glaring error of any kind. During the compile with the April 3rd version of BGLC produces a BGL file that for all practical purposes is clean as a whistle. However, nothing shows …

    Hi guys, this is my 'annoying' problem, any suggestions please....I create a rectangle in Gmax, apply a texture of tree, person etc. with the alpha mask, save & export to a .bgl, all works fine untill when in FS2002 I go past & no image on the other side??? Am I doing something wrong in Gmax or do I need to modify something else? I click the "image on both sides" box in Gmax.Rob:-zhelp
