    Hi there,I exported some small scenery I made for fs2002 into Fs2004. Apart some minor bug (easy to fix) I noticed that my hardened elevated surfaces (like an heliport on a building's roof) are not 'hard' anymore. I checked the Scasm documentation and Manfred says these commands won't be likely supported anymore in Fs versions after Fs2000/2002.Is really possible that there's no way to make hardened elevated surfaces in Fs9?? Is there any BGLC code for that?Any tip is welcome, thanks.

    Hello ArnoI am using in a fs9 scenery your apis made with autogen objects.(This scenery ,a wide remeshed lake in south of French Alps,can be downloaded there:www.francesim.com)Obviously theses api are crashing the sim then using fs2002 .I tried to import in fs2002 the ag_barn and so on textures in differents textures folders,but the crash is allways there.Did i loosed textures or is it really impossible to avoid the crash?Thank for your help.D A

    I have made a runway with custom markings (all using polygons). For the runway lighting I now use an invisible runway (surface -1). This works great, except that when I set a displaced threshold, as some of my runways have, it still shows the markings. No other runway markings are drawn as I have set MARKERS 0.I think this is a limitation of the runway command, but can someone confirm this? Or is there a way to get rid of these threshold markings?

    Hi all,I rather dislike the transitions that exist between certain kinds of ground textures, especially the forest textures. The transition is supposed to be "smooth" I guess, but it looks spotty...like a bad photoshop transition effect or something, if you know what I mean.Is there a way to change this? There must be some transparency texture or something that defines these transitions.In contrast, some village/town textures blend into the "ground" with rather hard edges, but it works very well. I'd like that with forests etc. too...-DanielPS: It doesn't look that bad in the screenshot. Sometimes it looks much worse though.

    Ground2K4 not writing the BGL file to the scenery folder that is in the LWM file. Worked for awhile but then stopped writing. No errors from Ground2K. I tried sending this to Christian but his email kicks back as user unknown... Using [email protected] AttachedDick KLBE

    Guys, after having just returned last weds from 10 days in Hong Kong and South China, I was so pleased to see Thomas Kwongs FS9 version of his excellent VHHH airport scenery!Immediately I fired it up and took the nickel tour around Kowloon and HK Island and the airport.     It's the familiar story: you've spent hours digitizing accurate shorelines but the default LWM flatten polys remain, which makes the entire process pretty frustrating. So here's an approach that I'm using that doesn't require any tedious re-meshing. I'd appreciate any feedback as I'm planning on distributing the project files soon.     Hi allI've been lurking around here for a bit, but this is my first post. I've been out of scenery design for about 2 years and thought I would jump back in so I could upgrade one of my airports to FS9. Back then I used VOD for 3D objects but now I've decided to give Gmax a try. For a newbie, it's so far so good as far as creating the object in Gmax (I'm creating a hangar with animated opening doors). Anyway, to get to the point, when I run the .asm file through CAT it appears to compile but the end result is an .asm file containing no data and no sign of a newly created .BGL file. :-hmmm I'm trying to set it up so tuning the Nav 2 to 112.00 (1200h for the variable) …

    Hi all,The attached screenshot shows two problems with my attempts to redraw the Castlegar (B.C.) area:1. The new outline of the Columbia River (generated as LWM poly w/ shore and altitude) is supposed to replace the existing depiction but I can't get the default water to disappear. I used the Area Modification window to assign Fill1x1 of Land per LOD13 area and also excluded the shorelines (successfully) as well as assigned new landclass values to the entire region.     Hi All,When using the mirror command to 'flip' an object, the 'flipped' object is displayed OK into GMax, but, when exporting the file to FS, all the faces looks inverted (they're visible from the inside only).I've played around the problem for a while without success.Now I need to flip a very complex shape, which required 3 hours to be made. I wouldn't like to spend further 3 hours to make the shape again from the scratch, while, if properly mirrored, the shape could be created with two mouse clicks.Can anyone help?Thanks in advance

    This was posted (eroneously, I guess) in the AVSIM MS FS Forum but got no help. I hope you in this Forum can. I would appreciate it very much.I was trying to install a supposedly FS2004 Scenery version and the author asks that the Nova_Nova gold, VOD textures 3.0 Airport textures,ASD vol 2 be included in the texture folder of FS2004.Is this OK?, Safe. etc.AFAIK aside from the different bgl specs , the mayor problems to porting sceneris from 2k2 to 2k4 are the textures. I have not done anything yet and I have a full back up of the FS2k2 textures. I am waiting from advice from experienced simmers in this Forum before installing it.     Any way to attach an effect (*.fx) to a scenery object?I've been working on a project, and thought it would look cool to have smoke coming out of fireplace chimneys. Did a couple using the effects sdk and looked very nice. Put it on my brothers machine to get his oppinion, and found a problem. I'm using FSGenesis, he isn't. So the smoke on his is originating from a point that floats way up in the air above the house.I found a default factory with smoke that was raised by FSGenesis on mine, and the smoke effect still comes from the correct point on both of our systems, it moves with the building. Anyone know how to do this?

    I recently posted about the well-known autogen problem on the general forum ('Observations on the autogen problem'). After making some measurements I came to the conclusion that the visibility distance settings for some classes of objects was the cause of the problem (JonP01 had previously come to a similar conclusion). The problem is this: after flying over an urban area with dense autogen for a few minutes it becomes apparent that, when looking back, the frame rates have fallen by a large amount (I have seen it fall by a massive 80%). This becomes even more serious if you turn 180 degrees, for the problem then lies directly ahead. The problem can temporarily be cleared…
