I have been trying to contact support for a couple of weeks and can't seem to get thru. Anyone else having this problem? My problem is when I wrap an object using the texture from the right side of the texture, the left is what gets wrapped. See screen shot:How are you supposed to place the texture accuratly with this happening? What am I doing wrong?Joe W.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/42370.jpg

  6. I'm fairly sure I know the answer, but has anybody figured out how to get rid of the valleys in which FS9 rivers flow once the river has been excluded and/or rerouted? I know we're all anxiously awaiting an SDK, but barring that has anyone done much research in this area?thanks,

Hi allI'm trying to create a nice "wire" fence. The fence is one polygon in between two poles. (Desinged in GMAX) The problem is that after conversion to DXT1 format the bitmap becomes ugly. Does anybody can give me some hints how it is possible to create a bitmap for a nice fence?ByeJ

It's been uploaded to Avsim and should appear soon in the file library. This update changes Landclass Assistant in order to support the 257x257 .raw file format, which is more accurate than the 256x256 format previously used by Landclass Assistant. Also, it uses the great little utility, FSConnect by Russ Dirks, to allow one to capture and plot the latitude and longitude directly from FS2002/FS2004.For those unfamiliar with landclass, with a landclass utility and FS2002/FS2004's autogen feature, you can change the face of the MSFS world without having to know sophisticated scenery techniques. You can add a city where none existed before, "update" your home town to refl…

Just in case you have not noticed Ground2K for FS2004 is now available. Solves some of the issues with layers, etc. It adds one (may be more) goodie. You can now insert FS2004 generic bridges into you scenery. Just be sure both ends are at the same height or you get a stair-step effect. I compiled a large area that was created inder the previous version and it worked ok. Now starting to uncover some of the new stuff. Dick KLBE

There's an airstrip in FS2004 that I use, and in reality, it's right near my home. The strip is near Fairbanks International. FS04 has it as a paved strip but its actually gravel. I just started using FSSC and I also just bought FS Design Studio. I have been able to add some buildings that are there, but when I created a gravel strip, it just puts it on top of the paved strip. Also, when I place objects, it seems like a real trial and error thing to get them placed around the strip the way they are in reality. I'd also like to add the float pond strip that is next to it that doesn't show in FS04. There's a lot to this scenery design and I have many questions for ideas tha…

Hi all! I have a quick (hopefully) question about EOD macros. First, let me say this. I use and have used FSDS1 and 2 to make macros. I can take those macros and place them anywhere I want without having any affect on the auto-gen. I just started to make a scenery, and used some macros made with EOD. I did not make these by the way. They remove auto-gen for about 500' in every direction, maybe further. What causes that, and is there something I can do to the api macro itself to change that? I hate having to add trees that were there just to use a macro. That kind of defeats the auto-gen affect. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks all!!Don

I live in San Diego, and am a Navy veteran. I would like to replace the ships Microsoft placed at the 32nd St. Naval Station piers with proper type ships created using GMAX. I know how to create the ships, but I don't know how to replace the default ones. Another "required" correction for me is the addition of the Coronado Bridge, which was not included in the default scenery. Any ideas?Robert

I'm working on photoreal scenery for the west coast of Florida, USA. The only other time I did PR was a small town in the midwestern US and I just colored the one small river to match as closely as I could and it didn't look too bad. That won't work here because there is ALOT of water and it should be usable for floatplanes! First off I'm not really sure how to do Microsoft's water effect. My understanding is you create a water "mask" that you import to the "alpha channel" of your source image which you then process normally.Secondly I'm not sure it would look good here. There are alot of shallows/mudflats/channels that will dissappear if I do that.I'm attempting to up…

Hi,This an old discussed topic but there are few points that I would like to revise. The TMF Resampler programme, made available by Microsoft, can be used to create:- mesh scenery ( TYPE = ElevS16LSB )- photo scenery ( TYPE = Custom )- landclass scenery ( TYPE = ClassU8 )In all these 3 cases a BGL file is generated covering a region that we specify in the destination section of the INF control file. This region can not be smaller than a certain size. For mesh and landclass sceneries, this minimum size corresponds to 257 x 257 elevation points or 257 x 257 class_indexes. The elevation points and the class_indexes are the vertexes of LOD squares. In the Landclass case the cl…

Hi folks,I've been trying to investigate the possibility of creating dynamic scenery for a project I am working on, which currently contains a variety of custom FSDS-made ground service vehicles: however they are all static. I would like to animate this scenery, to add movement of the vehicles. Here's a screenshot of one of the objects:http://www.fshungary.com/projects/bfa2003/...d_002_small.jpgTherefore I've researched possibile tools to build dynamic sceneries but I've run into some problems.Busy Objects: this tool supports only gmax at this time. I wish I had the time to use gmax, but this project is already very slowly developing.DOD: Well this seems to be the most con…

I recently downloaded a scenery file for Antartica, and while I like it, I would like to edit it to remove all of the static aircraft that are on the ground. The I would like to set it up to have some C130s flying in and out of the base (the scenery does have ground and tower ATC). I know that I'll need TrafficTools to do the flying portion, but how can I edit out those static aircraft? There are probably around 50 727s, 737s and 747s on the ground there, including Air Force 1.Or, does anybody know of an Antartica scenery that does not have static AC included?

No answer from Abacuspub tech support to my question a couple of weeks ago to them: how about a patch for ASD 2.1 to make it work better for FS9 (and even FS 2002)?It looks to me like ASD is no longer a "supported product," and I saw no reference to it at the Abacus site, so it may no longer be a product for sale, either. It's a pity, as I have used it for several years, and now have ASD source files for about 80 Ohio airports, which I am updating as much as I can to make compatable with FS9. Should be released in about a week. But if it weren't for Airport for Windows, which I use to define the surface area of an airport, and also need to "flatten" some areas, I'd have not…
