Looking at the aircraft light effects, what are the differences between the different types? For example, fx_navgre.fx compared to fx_navgrec.fx vs fx_navgreh.fx vs fx_navgrem.fx!Same question for fx_vclight, fx_vclighth and fx_vclightwhi as well as fx_beacon, fx_beaconb, fx_beacong, fx_beaconh, fx_beaconwhi and fx_beacony.Thanks

Hi,Can somebody explain how exactly to read/write the ADF freq. from an XML gauge (must work in FS2002 AND FS9)I now use the A:ADF1 ACTIVE FREQUENCY for read,K:ADF_LOWRANGE_SET / K:ADF_HIGHRANGE_SET for restoring.But I can't figure out exactly how/when to use the last two events.What I need to do:Read the ADF freq, and later on restore the same freq.I keep having troubles with freq. greater than 1000 Khz, (esp. above 1600), so I must be doing something wrong.Anyone ??Cheers, Rob

Hi,I like to pay attention to the XML sound of Doug Dawson!!!It is in the library.For the xml gauge developers it is just joy to have sounds again in the cockpit.Now there are more than 30 sounds working in my cockpit (eg Rob Barendregts pushback etc.) and a lot more to come ("In Flight Entertainment System" and so on)Jan"Procul Negotiis"

Hello, here is our new project : Ilyushin Il-86. To my mind this is one of the most beautiful aircrafts ever built. It starts to be better known in the West since many russian companies use it on international flights. Don't panic - only one crashed so far (without passengers) in 25 years of service !So, here is the visual model. This won't be a very complete package as there is no decent panel for it. Hence, no virtual cockpit... We'll wait for better times and probably make an update as soon as a good panel appears. I need to create some module (.dll) for FS. I know how to do it. It loaded and unloaded just fine. Question is: where can I get information about inside of MS FS ? How can I control FS (get and put some FS specific data) from my .DLL.Thanks for the help.

Hi all, I'm currently flying MSFS2000 Pro edition and thinking ofbuying the 'Dreamfleet b737-400' add-on. Being a real-life F/O on the b737 airliner, I hope this will be as close to the real aircraft as it gets...One thing is of the utmost importance, though : It has to fly like the real aircraft. I'm told that the overhead-panel is completely functional, and the MCP-CDU-FMA works as in real life. This is exactly what I'm looking for. However... The b737-400 included in my FS didn't fly like the realthing at all ! Descent planning in this airliner is one of the trickiest bits. It doesn't descend AND slow down. Hi,Does anyone know of an Installer that can directly modify a pre-existing Panel.cfg file during the intallation routine?In other words, suppose I create an addon gauge that I want people to add to the default 737. Is there a way to have the installer edit the .cfg file directly, because I know that if you leave people to edit the .cfg file themselves, a lot of them without experience may have troubles and muck things up.

Is there a way to make a window always visible in the main panel, virtual cockpit, tower view and spot view. I want the window to be displayed in all these views without having to use the keyboard. I have Bill Morad's excellent ATC gauge setup in a window and would like to have it visible in all views. Thanks, regards, Bob.

I just had a little idea about incorporating a video file, in what ever format, .avi or whatever, into a .GAU file. Could this be reasonably done? The idea would be for the gauge to simply replay or loop the video.Kerry

Could some one provide a pointer or quick overview of the relationship of the aircraft.cfg to the .air file? Is the idea that the aircraft.cfg is to override values in the .air file? Maybe to allow several aircraft.cfg to share a single .air file?While on the subject, is there a problem if contact points or other parameters don't match the .mdl that well? Don't know if anyone has noticed this. But Mleeguard posted a thread in the screen shot fourms wondering what the De-ice trucks were doing in KDEN. Another poster said nothing but decoration. Next poster said then explain the fx_deicing.fx in the effects folder. So I opened up the POSKY B744 aircraft.cfg file, removed/turn-off thier smoke (wing condy, and vortices), place a line in the smoke system section, using the deice effect, loaded up KDEN went to the deice trucks(though it probably will work any way). In any case, the "T" key became a squirt bottle so to say and it lookied like I was deicing the plane. Though I don't know enough about doing smoke files. Thought I'd…

I just installed the FSDS update that make's it 2004 compatible. How do I get the switches that used to work in the 2D cockpit to work in the 3d?

Many panels have autobrakes, with a position named RTO (rejected take-off). I thought it was designed to brake automatically if you abort your take-off. But it doesn't work this way. Maybe I missed something here...Any help ?Thanks !!Eric

GuysI would like a switch that performs one action when flicked on and another action when flicked off.I need to increase throttle to full when in the on position, and then decrease throttle to off when the switch is turned off. So far all I have is:(L:Prop,bool) 0 (>K:THROTTLE1_FULL) (L:Prop,bool) ! (>L:Prop,bool)Is there a way to make this switch do what I need??As always, help most appreciated.Steve

I was wondering if it is possible to change the way that these lights are turned on. The way it is now they are turned on when I turn on the landing lights and consequesntly are turned off when I switch off my landing lights which I find a bit crazy. So I would like to couple them to either the nav or strobe lights. Is this possible, and if so how can this be done?
