    Hello, Does anybody know where I could find a GDI+ gauge source code? I do not want it complex, just a line on a background. I have tried the MSDN site, but I would like something that works in FS2004, and that could easily compile for it. I have the Platform SDK. I have tried fs2k2sdkwithgdi+.zip , but I can not compile it. Can anybody help me out? Thank you in advance. I am really interested in learning GDI+. My e-mail address is: tiberiu11(@)yahoo.com (watch for the parantheses)Sincerely,Tiberiu Brasov

    I have tried to contact Barry Blasdell the author of the Sherpa22.zip with no reply. I am wondering if someone could get the props to display. They say that if it was made for FS2002 it will work in FS2004. Well everything is good except NO PROP animation at all. Everything else works fine. Anyone willing to fix this?Richard;

    I am brand new at this and know just enough to be frustrating myself silly. I am trying to adapt the bitmap of the 2d panel of a plane I have, to removed the side windscreen frame. I have photoshop - opened up the file, extracted out the part of the panel I want to save (not including the windscreen frame) - cleaned up the edges, saved it with a black background on a second layer. Of course, this didn't work. I have a nice panel in the sim, but no outside view. What is the proceedure for defining what is panel and what is outside in the bitmap?A tutorial on the subject would also be helpful if anyone can point me. Many thanks.Colin

    A local museum recently installed FS2002 on their desktop sims. The Director of Simulator Center is a good friend of mine & has asked me if i could change out the AIS in the mini-panel, which is what they use for a panel. He wants the Cessna 172 ASI. Antone know how to do this? This is not my area of expertise. I downloaded FSStudio Panel & then found out that they don't support mini-panels. Any help would greatly appreciated.Thanks,JimSubject should read ASI, not AIS. Oh well that's what happens when you get old.

    Hi everybody! I just love flying w/ FFX planes, but only during daytime, since the blinding belly beacon is so annoying. I know that it is surely not this bright and ground covering as simulated. Can anyone plese tell me, if at all, how to remove it? it can't be turned off from the cockpit (or can it?!?) Appreciate any help...Thank you lots..CF :)

    Hey all.I'm working on an Air Tractor 802 Cropduster and firefighting aircraft. I was wondering if any XML guru's could come up with a smal invisible gauge that would activate the smoke effects in 2004 when the spoiler key is activated.and for effects I'm looking for a very light spray effect that I can make show from the spray bars and also a water drop effect for the firefighters.ThanksBrian

    Hi all,Maybe this has been delt with before (but with so many new gauge designers it's good to repeat it), or maybe it sounds trivial to the experts, but DO realise the following when coding an (XML) gauge. I have seen several gauges (including one of myself :-( ) where, given a certain condition, a gauge continuously gives events to force a certain FS variable into a certain state, even if the variable is allready in that state.Example:Suppose you want a gauge to force the smoke On when the aircraft is in the air, and Off when on the ground (not very usefull, but it's just an example :-) )You could either code that as:1.(A:SIM ON GROUND)if{ (>K:SMOKE_OFF) } els{ (>…

    Hello everyone,I have used in the past on several of my panels the excellent gauge:AI Tactical Display' AIMAP.gau with the written permission of its author Rodolfo Arata. Whishing to actualize these panels for FS9 I have written several e-mails to this gentleman without any answer (which was not the case, of course, in the past where e-mails got an immediate answer!)Questions:1. Does anybody know if anything has unfortunately happened to Rodolfo?2. Or how to join him?3. Is there on the "market" any gauge which does +/- the same function and works with FS9? Any answer or help will be warmly welcomed and thanks in advanceKindest regards s.

    Hey, I was wondering if there is any tutorials on modifying the current gauge's and panel's in FS2004 (or fs2002). What I would like to do, is modify;ident=RADIO_STACK_PANELgauge01=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Nav-Comm 1, 0, 29I would like to capture the ACTIVE event, when you set a channel to active. Then do something in or outside the game. Im not sure if this would require a new Nav-Comm Gauge, or if there is a way to edit the current one.I have downloaded all of the 2002 sdk material, DirectX SDK material, and really just need a push in the right direction to get started. Would appreciate any help.

Anyone help me?SO Far I have: Color="%('Dark_Orange' 'Red' (A:Design speed vc, knots) 1.1 * >= ! ?)"I know that the "greater than or equals to" variable needs a number to trigger it, but can't get my head around it.Steve

    Now that we are starting to see some truly outstanding work and detail in the FS9 world, I was hoping someone out there in the FS universe is developing a highly detailed L-1011 series (100, 200 and 500)for FS9. I have yet to see an accurate model, with quality textures, accurate dimensions, lighting effects, sound and shape. There was a model not too long ago but it seems like it wasn't near completion and the textures, wing detail and engine shape were poor. Needless to say, this was a remarkable aircraft - a classic of the 1970's. I would love to know if anyone is aware of a project in the works - to bring this beauty back to life in stunning detail? Warm RegardsGT…

    Hello,Are there any among us who have ever piloted the DC-9?Attached is a screenshot of a -41 panel I've been working on for a while and I am looking for assistance with how the real airplane works. Mostly I need technical assistance on the functionality of the real gauges.I have posted several questions to this forum about XML programming with great success. (thanks to all who have helped me)Is there anyone who would like to assist me with this project or can point me to a source of DC-9 technical info? (Note: I'm already corresponding with Stellan Hilmerby, but we only manage about 1 email exchange every several weeks.)Thanks,John

    OK first I am not a programmer of any kind and I could not find this dicussed in a search so here goes. I am doing a 8GCBC scout as some may have seen on other forums. with the scout is a Skis variant. now I have an animation on the spoilers function for the skis on and off the ground. The gauge works great but I found a problem today. I cannot open the second exit which as you know is shift + E then the 2 key. It keeps opening the main exit cause i guess the gauge is constantly repeating the functions not giving me time to hit the 2 key before it resets.This is the code: (A:SIM ON GROUND,BOOL) if{ 1 (>K:SPOILERS_ON) } els{ (>K:SPOILERS_OFF) } Its very b…

  17. Hi,I'm looking for accurate fuel performance data for Boeing 757-200 equipped with PW2040 engines. A table that has fuel consumption for different phases of flight at different flight levels is what I'm looking for. The Eurocontrol BADA file is a good reference, but it is for the RR RB211-535C engines, which have ~ 4000lbs less thrust than the PW2040.The use will be the creation of an accurate flight simulator performance file, which will be used in a home cockpit 757 full flight simulator.I would appreciate any help at all in this matter, because the creation of an accurate 757 FDE is very important for our project.Thank you.Best regards,Tero PartanenOulu, Finland

    Hi!As you can see at the picture below, I want to make a simple MFD, which just should show an arc. The other part(inside the yellow drawn rectangle) should be hidden by a mask.Since now I've just worked with XML. But as we're learning C at school now, I'm now trying to make some gauges in C.In XML, you can hide every drawing element( and ) by a mask.In C, I've read that this is only possible for some of the Macros, and it's impossible for MAKE_NEEDLE.So what to do? Is there really no way to do it via MAKE_NEEDLE? Must I take an other macro? If yes, which one?Regards,Harry :-)

  21. Started by Dark Moment,

    I think I understand that the VC lighting is primarily controlled by an effects file. However, when I make changes to this to get rid of the pink wash - by substituting a white VC effects file, for example; it seems to be overridden by whatever lighting I have chosen for the 2D panel in the PANEL.CFG.Am I correct? Sorry if this is an old chestnut, but I couldn't find any threads discussing changing the VC lighting in existing aircraft, only stuff (and a great tutorial, thanks) on creating new VCs.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

    I have Bill Morad's excellent ATC gauge which I use on all my aircraft. Is there any way to permanently display the gauge in all of the various view modes (cockpit,virtual, tower and spot)? I can turn it on in all of the views by selecting it on the dropdown menu bar but when I switch views it closes. I like to fly in the various view modes and sure would like the ATC gauge visible. Thanks and best regards, Bob.
