There is a file called fixup.c in the sd2gau14 package under the GCC directory. It contains the following :asm(".section .idata$3n" ".long 0,0,0,0, 0,0,0,0"); I'm a bit shaky with ASM but it looks like it's patching or adding something in an idata section.Who wrote it and what does it fix? So far my gauges and modules work fine without it.I was using MinGW 3.1.0. BTW : I have just installed Dev-C++ 5 beta 8 and am quite impressed!I couldn't stand trying to read compiler errors scrolling past on a tiny DOS console window. Now if I can just figure out what is bloating my gauge files.Used to be 12KB with just MinGW now it's 65KB in Dev-C++ after stripping out all the symbols.…

New to aircraftdesign, I want to modify the fs9 Beechcraft Baron to have turboprops instead of piston engines. I'm not thinking of modifying the power or any other flight characteristics of the Baron, I just want it to have the standard 2*300 horsepower, but with turboprop characteristics and sound. I managed the sound by copying it from the KingAir, I even managed a slow spin-up time for the propeller by editing aircraft.cfg, but it doesn't "really have" turboprops. When I change the engine-type to 5 in the aircraft.cfg, it doesn't respond to the powerlever anymore and the enginepanel says the engine is not running, although it sounds like it's running. What do I have t…

Hi and thank you to answer my questions every time. This time, my question is how to get magnetic variables (difference degrees between true north and magnetic north).I know that I can use VOR1 and VOR2 mag_var tokens for get such data. However, I want to get futher point's magnetic variables for building FMS navigation system. I also want to get FIX(not VOR) points' magnetic variables. I am planning touse the nearest VOR's Magnetic variable. If you know any solution for these please tell me.Thanks in advance.

I was wondering if anyone was planning to make a CRJ 700. I found one, but it wasn't very good. I have been looking for a G-MAX CRJ-700 for about 2 years now and I haven't found one. Please, could someone help me with this. Oh, and if it wouldn't be too much trouble, could it be in Comair colors if you decide to make it. Thanks a bunch.

Hey everyone!:-waveI seem to be unable to use MakeMDL to compile .X files exported from 3ds max 5.1. I keep getting errors such as "zero normal encountered in part fuselage" or "colocated vertices found in triangle (insert any number here)". The thing is, though, when I export the file as a .3ds, then open it in gmax, everything works fine! Well, everything did work fine. Starting yesterday, makemdl started to tell me it either couldnt find itself, or that it couldn't compile the model (the premier 1). Help me plpease!!!!

I'm just getting started with gauge programming and would like to program something useful while I climb the learning curve.I'll write it and release it as freeware of course. Can someone recommend a type of gauge that people really need?I was thinking along the lines of moving map, GPS or FMC gauges but there are so many of them out there already, right?Something that is used in a popular aircraft.Or maybe a freeware replacement for a commercial gauge?I was thinking of possibly one of the Garmin panel mount gauges but don't know which one's are commonly used. The Garmin Apollo MX20 is not too complex (it's just a moving map display - no navigation features like VOR, ILS, e…

I have been enjoying the fantastic Falcon50 CAEA for fs2k2 in FS2004 for a couple of weeks now - loving it! The problem is that I use the VC much more in FS9 than I ever did in FS2k2. The default location for view point in the falcon is at the cabin door, so after looking around the cockpit using the hat switch, I hit space to reset, and end up back with the passengers. I want to permanently move the view to the pilots seat, but have no idea what to change. Which file contains that info - panel.cfg, I assume? Could someone kindly point me in the right direction to accomplish this task? Thanks,sg

Hi everyone.I have some questions. But I divide to several posts searching for who would have same question as mine.I'd like to know how to get throttle positions of jet engine aircraft. There are GENERAL_ENGINE*_THROTTLE_LEVER_POS for through ENGINE1 to 4 on SDK's Token variables datasheet. It comments the variable as 0.0... 0.1.. However, I cant get the value of this. I understood the comment as minimum value is 0 and max value is 0.1. I could only get 0 when I tried with own made gauge with 4 engines jet aircraft. Is the variable cannot use with jet aircraft? or am I misunderstood the usage of it?Any comments are so welcome and thanks in advance.Taku

Hi all.Is there any way to change the colors of strings other than duplicate "MAKE_STRINGS" with SHOW/HIDE macros. I want to change the color of strings when number goes over limit value (eg.engine temperature coming to overheat). I know that I can do thisby duplicate "MAKE_STRINGS" but I want to know if I can do the same by other way.

Has anyone noticed that the GPWS in the BAe Jetstream 31 Panel V2.0 for FS2004 by Matthias Lieberecht is way too sensitive. The panel is unbelievablely great but for this. On a nice ILS approach on glideslope only 600fpm down I get glideslope, sinkrate, and don't sink warnings. Is there a way of fixing this because I love the panel and the realism it brings.

Hi all,I have put together a compiled C gauge which will play sounds based on input from XML gauges. If anyone is interested in testing it, send me a an e-mail or a forum message and I will e-mail it to you. The whole package is too large to include in an attachment hereNote that right now, the gauge requires a registered copy of FSUIPC to operate. I will arrange for registering it if the package is found to be useful.Doug Dawson

Let's say you've just built an aircraft and exported it and it works fine. How do you make the wheels touch the ground? Are the contact point defined based on the models placement in gmax (above, on, or below the grid) or otherwise? Feedback will be greatly appreciated!!

I've tried a number of F-14 airfiles in FS9. In each case with full "flaps" (read wingsweep), there seems to be a breakpoint in the airspeed where the acft acts like it suddenly uses thrust vectoring. At about 180'ish kts and higher, the only way to descend or even maintain level flight is to point the nose down about 20-30 degrees. This is not conducive to successful carrier traps using Flight Deck III here... a little too much power and I'm floating well above the glide slope with no hope of descent or recovering the approach to the third wire. Not being an aeronautical engineer (but I can recognize an airplane 2 out of 3 times!), and not "in the know" of the ways of…
