    Having just purchased the absolutely terrific Reality XP Jetline 2 and 4 gauges, I am now experiencing a burning desire to start adapting some panels to both include these gaugues, and perhaps improve their perspective. Can someone point me to some tutorials on basic gauge work through panel studio, the vagarities of the VC and basic bitmap editing? I want to know what I'm getting into here. Thanks!

  3. Hi, I'm using EasyGauge to create some gauges.I'm having trouble coding the "Set Kohlsman" Event so it will automatically return ambient/local pressure (the equiv of hitting 'B' on the keyboard).What value do I need to use with the Set Kohlsman Event to get the Altimeter to display ambient pressure?I've just learned I'm to use the number 16211.2 to get the Alt to display 29.92, so what it is to display ambient, haven't a clue!Thanks.

    Is there anybody making a "fancy" non-ai A321 for FS2004. There is AI this and AI that, but no flyable one, just "AI-Junk"! ;-) I remeber someone was making a gmax one, but of course the links to the screenies were dead. :-roll

    Hi,When I have a L:Variable set at 1690, I'm not able to get the same results in xml as I do with the normal calculator. 1691, 1689, 1590, 1490, works fine, but 1690, 1790 and 1890 etc gives really strange results.What I'm trying to do is do a tenth increment on an adf without carrier, setting up a standby frequency.The code goes as follows (inc by ten):(L:Adf1 standby frequency,number) 100 / d int - 100 * int90 >=if{(L:Adf1 standby frequency,number) 90 - (>L:Adf1 standby frequency,number)}els{(L:Adf1 standby frequency,number) 10 + (>L:Adf1 standby frequency,number)}Changing the 90 >= to 89 &gt seems to work, but it seems highly nonlogic?Doing the followin…

    Hi,I'm not an aircraft designer, but I am curious as to whether the FS2004 flight modeling "environment" allows the modeling of a tiltrotor aircraft.Specifically, I want to know whether an FS flight model can handle a smooth transition from vertical thrust to horizontal thrust and then back again, as a tiltrotor does in almost every flight.Thanks,Dave Blevins

    Sorry All;If you've D/Led the Aeronca K from AvSim and aren't getting any gauges, just copy the cab files from the Lockheed Vega, the Spirit of St Louis and the Piper Cub into your main FS9 gauges folder. They should be in each aircrafts' respective Panel folder. You'd have to do that eventually, just careless of me to forget to mention it. Apologies to all, I'm sure.Many Thanks;smyers

    Hi!Guess there are some of you who know what to do in the following case:I have a Dash8-100 who have some bad speed / drag characteristics. Have tried to alter the drag and thrust sections in aircraft.cfg, but this dont help. Problem is as follows. The dash accellerates a bit too fast, she reaches Vr about 3.5 seconds to early. Climb performance is also a tad to good,. with flaps up, speed set to 150 IAS, trq at 96 % and prop to 1050, she climbs with almost 3000 feet / min. This shold be about 2000.At cruise level, the speed is again to low. She gains only 190-200 IAS at e.g FL080. TRQ set according to POH, and RPM at 900. this speed should be about 205-215.I have heard t…

    A stupid question from a beginning gmax designer. Is it possible for an XML gauge to control an animation tag in gmax that FS doesn't use. What I mean is to assign an animation the apu_door animation, and have a gauge control it to open and close it with an actual animation, even thought it is not a fs tag? Is that totally impossible?

    I am trying to model an ammeter that shows charge and discharge like the one in the Cessna using XML. This is the type with zero in the center of the gauge. The need moves left on discharge and right on charge. BTW FS apparently models a voltage regulator because when I turn the nav lights on the ammeter flicks to discharge briefly then returns to zero.I am unsure given the parameters we have, how to achieve this. Most report load in amps, which is when the system is discharging or zero. The quetion is how to move the needle when the system is charging.The Baron ammeter does not measure charge. It only measure load on the generator or alternator and epresses it as a perce…

    Hey everyone!:-waveWell, as you can see from the screenshot, I have nav lights in front of my aircraft instead of in their correct location on the edges of the wing tips (indicated by the pink boxes). Also, I cloned the right wing and then mirrored it to create the left wing, but now the top surface is perpetually dark (there is no texture applied. How do I fix these issues???http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/47664.jpgOn a more positive note, I did manage to reduce the polygon count to 25000 +or - 900 (as opposed to 38000+)

    Hi all.Can someone provide a solution to allow an XML Gauge when clicked onto trigger the CONTROL F5 KEY SEQUENCE?I am using FS2K2 and load the Arrestor Cable program once simulator is started. So, when I want to refuel in flight I simply hit the CONTROL F5 key sequence and the Arrestor Cable DLL starts to top offmy planes fuel tanks.What I would like is a small XML Gauge ( I have no problem making the bmp map etc..) and most of the main part of the XML gauge code, but DO NOT know how I can when clicking on the guage have it trigger (Activate) the CONTROL KEY/F5 KEY SEQUENCE.Can anyone help me with how to write the code?For instance: Can I replace the following line…

    Say for instance....I have a directory with sequentially numbered and equally sized bitmaps 1 through 10. I want to make a gauge that would display any one bitmap at a given time. I want to be able to scan through the list of bit maps 1 through 10 with a mouse click in the upper or lower half of the gauge (upper would be n+1 and lower would be n-1 (and not crash because I try to go to 0 or 11) or something to taht effect.I am not an XML programmer but I can at least understand some basic XML syntax. A kick in the pants in the right direction, a short tutorial or a good example of something similiar would help.I'd like to take these dozens of IAPs, departures, approaches …

    Hello everyone, new to this forum and hope to get some help. I'm working on a F-15 repaint of one of our aircrafts and cannot figure out how to add squadron and command patches on the repaint. I can get lettering and tail numbers okay, just don't know how to put the patches on. I've read several repaint tutorials and cannot seem to find any specifics on how to do patches. Are these items hand drawn or are they copy and paste from some source. Any help is appeciated.Oh, this is my first attempt at a repaint.Thanks, Wing

    I am having a problem with a couple simicon style gauges that I am made to switch from the main panel to a copilot panel as well as one to go from the main panel to a landing view panel. The first one mentioned works correctly switching from the main to the copilot panel. The other is not functioning as I would like it to. When I click on it to go from the main panel to the landing panel it displays all three panels in this order front to back: landing, copilot, main. This is the code for the main to landing panel switch:10500 (>K:PANEL_ID_TOGGLE) 60 (>K:PANEL_ID_TOGGLE)This is the code for the main to copilot panel switch:10500 (>K:PANEL_ID_TOGGLE) MAIN_PANEL…

    My questions:1. Do gauges in a FS "Window" other than the Main Window automatically open when the aircraft loads? Say, for example, I have a window called "Radio Stack". Will the gauges in Radio Stack open or become active even before I open the Radio Stack Window?2. For the sake of theory, is it possible to "shut down" or de-load a gauge and make it dissapear after it's already loaded? Let's say I have 5 gauges in my Radio Stack Window. Is it possible to assign a mouse click somewhere in the Window so that one of the gauges in the Radio Stack will totally shut down and no longer be accessed by FS?
