Two things I would love to see either as a freebie or even, dare I say it, as payware by some creative designer is a pushback tug (like in FSAssist 2002 but with rolling wheels) and a working gate that swings or extends out to meet your aircaft perhaps when you apply the parking brake.I would think many-many simmers would use use these on most flights.Surely with all the automation going on these days this is now feasable?

I have a freeware general aviation twin. The engine and propeller (both the sounds and the visual presentation) achieve ignition almost as soon as I hit the starter. I want to retard the ignition so that the propeller visual and sound are retarded.Said another way, from both a visual presentation and a sound presentation, I want the aircraft engine/propeller combination to 'crank' through several blades before the engine actually starts. Is this easily accomplished? How/where do I start.BobL

I cannot remember if FS2002 virtual cockpits had working switches available or did that happen with FS2004. It came up in a discussion today and I could not remember and do not have access to my FS2002 program to try it.Thanks in advance and Happy HolidaysBob

Let's imagine that your VOR1 is tuned on a localizer (for example, IORD 109.75 at O'Hare), and you want to engage the autopilot to follow the localizer.Does it make any difference if you use KEY_AP_LOC_HOLD_ON or KEY_AP_NAV1_HOLD_ON?As far as my tests have gone, there is no difference if the VOR1 is a localizer. Any feedback is greatly welcome.Eric

I guess the answer on this is easy for the panel gurus. At the moment I'm designing my first panel (FS2004) and it all works pretty good so far. I only have problems with adjusting the outside view on added sub panels. In addition to the main panel I have designed an FO panel and a landing view panel. That was no problem and also toggling between the differnet panels works perfectly. My question now is: how do I get the default view into the sub panels? At the moment, when the sub panels are open the outside view is actually full screeen, but I would like to have the bottom of the outside window right at the upper edge of the sub panels, just like it is on the main panel.…

Hi AllMy apologies if this is not the right forum but as always and advice given would be gratefully appreciated. I am at present simming using FS2002 and use PSP vers 7.0 and Martin Wright's DXTBMP program to convert my textures to a readable format. My question is does anyone know if there is an option within PSP 7 to load an image and for the program to give u an idea of what the actual RGB (Red Green Blue) values are for that particular colour.Basically im trying to paint match. If not PSP does anyone know of any free utilities that i can try.Thanx for taking the time to read this message.TomScotland

Where do people find all the detailed info on aircraft so that they can model them? For instance where does PMDG source their info?Where do they get Pilot's Operating Handbooks from so that they can model the aircraft systems?Where do they get diagrams and dimensions so that they can create the 3D model?I've found that the Net is a poor source of information for most types of aircraft especially if they are very modern.Paul

Hello, O skilled supermen and experts in XMLI am attempting to set up the default FS9 DC-3 to fly on four tanks rather than the three that MS supply her with. DC-3s were designed to have four tanks (just over 800 gallons) but most airlines shut off one tank given shorter itineraries and carried just over 600 gallons in three tanks. Hence, Microsoft's configuration. I have adapted the graphics for the DC-3 fuel selector gauge to show four positions but am confused at how to adapt the XML. The three fuel gauge XMLs within the default CAB file are FUEL GAUGE, FUEL GAUGE SELECTOR and FUEL PRESSURE. I think only the first two XMLs are relevant to this particular change. …

FUN WITH SPLINES:Here's an example of modeling in the simplest of terms. Forget all that you know about standard primitives (cylindars, spheres, boxes) By using splines and patches you can achieve accurate results and gain better control over the detail of mesh.In its simplest terms, with spline and patch modeling you create a wire frame and then use patches to create the shape you need. Im not real good with this "how-to" stuff, and I'm still learning about this method, I hope you can follow me. Pics will make this easier.Ill be brief.here's where i am now. I will walk you through the cowl, the fuse and other parts took about 10 total hours. I did not use any standard sh…

The January issues of both Flying Magazine and Plane and Pilot have articles on the new Garmin G1000 Flat Screen Cockpits. Cessna has announced that they will offer the new C182 with a dual display G1000 flat screen option. It looks incredible to see a 182 with a PFD and MFD display only on the dashboard of the cockpit (picture on the cover of P&P). It should be fun to redo the Flight Sim aircraft with these new G1000s when someone creates the gauges.

Hi guys! I'm starting work on a panel for a rather complex aircraft that as-of-yet has no panel released, and the one in progress will be payware (if it is ever finished). I am working on coding the gauges for this panel in XML, but my 'background art' skills are not so great. There are plenty of photographs, diagrams, etc, available of this panel, and while the gauge work is not going super-fast, I forsee no snags in development.Eventually I will also need someone to do the actual aircraft model / FDE as well, but right now I'm more interested in the panel. So, if you are good at generating those nice big backdrops for gauges and are interested in a fun project, please s…

I think good talent should be compensated by more than just a thank you note in a read me file.I am currently looking to have about 10 re-paints done for my upcoming project and will pay a good aircraft painter for their efforts. Thanks for your [email protected]
